Date of stay: 10th May 2025
We had a really lovely stay at this cottage! Its tucked away on a working farm, but feels super private and peaceful. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely lovely people. The place itself is spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that made us feel right at home. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded with nice furniture. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds restaurants, like The Star and The Maypole, are worth a visit. Wed definitely recommend it!

We just got back from a fantastic four-night stay at this cottage. The owners are really friendly and helpful but not intrusive, which was perfect. The big fenced garden was great for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed and the hot tub was absolutely brilliant! We even used the BBQ one evening. Definitely planning to come back and already told friends about it. Thanks for a lovely break!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and were really impressed. Rob and Sharon clearly put a lot of effort into converting this historic building with care and respect. They were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived and Bonnie made it even more special. The location is perfect for exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages-so much history and charming architecture to enjoy. Its a really relaxing spot and wed definitely recommend it if you're after a cosy getaway!

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying here! Honestly, we didnt want to leave at all. The lodges are truly luxurious, with such attention to detail - plus, they greeted us with a lovely local goodie bag which was a nice touch. The handsoap and toiletries, all made locally, were just divine! We stayed in the Torwen lodge; it was spotless, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed for a comfy stay. The hot tub was a real highlight - so relaxing! What we really appreciated was the unlimited entry to Folly Farm, which included our arrival and departure days. We managed to explore so much, from Tenby to Haverfordwest and theres plenty of food options nearby, including takeaways. We ordered a Chinese from Dragon Palace, which was delicious and they deliver right to the site. The staff were fantastic - always at the end of the phone, making sure everything was perfect. Well definitely be coming back soon!

We stayed at this lodge recently and it was really lovely. The place was spotless and the hot tub was well-kept and relaxing. The sofa wasnt the most comfy after a while, but overall, a great stay with high standards. Definitely recommend!

Date of stay: 21st March 2025
We had another fantastic stay at Simba Lodge recently. Its our second visit and honestly, it didnt disappoint. Everything was just as lovely as before-super clean, fresh and well-equipped. We did bring some extra towels because the hot tub was so popular and used quite a lot. The kitchen had everything we needed and the toiletries in the bathroom were a nice touch. Beds are incredibly comfy and having the smart TV and good WiFi really made our evenings relaxing. The only tiny gripe is that the shop was closed a couple of times when we wanted to pop in, but we get that its off-season and not always feasible to stay open. Maybe shorter hours could work better? Still, thats a minor point. Overall, wed definitely recommend Simba Lodge and are already looking at next years booking!

We had a lovely stay! Sharon and Robert were fantastic hosts, making us feel really at home. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for Archie with good security. The location couldnt be better-lots of nice walks nearby and charming villages like Thaxted to explore. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed. All in all, a great break and wed happily come back again!

We had such a great time with the Showmans Wagon! The kids loved it and kept talking about it all day. Every time we got back on site, they were buzzing. Seeing it from the Ferris Wheel was definitely a highlight for them!

Date of stay: 11th March 2025
We spent a week here in July with our two tiny dachshunds and honestly, the place was lovely. The cottage itself is cosy and charming and the hot tub was such a treat - especially since we hit the hottest days of the year! It was great to see the hosts being so welcoming; you could tell they genuinely care. Watching the planes land near Stansted added a bit of excitement, even if its on the flight path. Our dogs loved making friends in the village of Thaxted and wed definitely recommend this spot for a relaxing getaway. Wed come back for sure!

Date of stay: 8th March 2025
We had a lovely stay at this charming place, tucked away in a peaceful spot. The hosts were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, while still respecting our privacy. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day exploring on bikes! One thing to keep in mind, the cottage is directly under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our trip at all. Would definitely recommend!

We recently stayed at Simba Lodge with our family and a friend and honestly, it was great. The place itself is lovely-spacious, well-decorated and super comfortable. We loved that the amenities and farm access were all included in the booking, which made things easier. The staff were really friendly and approachable, which added to the experience. Were already thinking about coming back soon and definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice getaway!

We had a lovely stay at the fairground lodge. Its super clean and very well-equipped, with everything we needed. Plus, they went the extra mile by leaving us a gift bag with some nice treats like butter, bread and tea. Really thoughtful touch, we appreciated it!
Emma
Date of stay: 23rd February 2025
We absolutely adore our trips to Folly Farm, especially staying in their lodges. This was our third time staying - we started with the Carousel Lodge, then moved on to SIMBA and most recently, Kifaru Lodge. Each stay has been fantastic and the kids (aged 5 and 2) really get a kick out of the themed rooms - it keeps them so entertained! We booked Kifaru hoping to be at the front, overlooking the enclosure, but ended up in a back lodge, which was a bit of a letdown since the other lodges blocked the view. Still, the unlimited access to the park makes up for it - honestly, its worth about £100 a day for a family of four, especially in winter. The staff are so friendly and attentive, they really go the extra mile. Were already planning our next trip, cant wait to go back!
