The home we were in (Fairways 67), was what you'd expect from a larger static home really. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a modern and functional kitchen space and a small living area. There was also a balcony with a fantastic hot tub, which was serviced daily and kept in great condition. The floors in the home were incredibly creaky and loud, and you cannot really fit a travel cot in either of the bedrooms so this home is not adequate if baby still needs to be sleeping in with parents. The showers were incredibly powerful - the most pressure I've had from a shower ever! Sofas were hard and uncomfortable for long periods. Kitchen table was redundant as there's not really enough space to use it. Bed was ok, but creaky. It was a nice surprise that the home came with a fitted washer-dryer. A really useful resource with a baby!

Good apart from having a few issues with the boiler, the hot water kept turning itself off

Although the facilities at Finlake were very good, the standard of our lodge was not deluxe as detailed before. I think we all ended up with bad backs due to the mattresses.

What we loved: A beautiful lodge nestled in the trees, which was clean and well-equipped. We enjoyed our afternoon at the spa and the staff were kind enough to bring out prosecco in flutes for my sister's special occasion. A beautiful walk to the lake. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent facilities for dogs. Constructive feedback: Please could you improve the selection of vegetarian and gluten-free food at the cafe? - I could only have the cheesy chips! The hot tub at our lodge was nice and hot (and someone did come and check on it) but the jets were weak and the lights did not work. Finally, I understand that the interior of the lodges varies a lot because they are all privately owned; this meant that the photos on the website do not necessarily indicate what sort of layout/furniture/TV you will get (i.e. our TV was not smart so we couldn't access Netflix). I think, when you are paying so much money, you should be able to see exactly what you are getting (i.e. like on Airbnb). It shouldn't feel like a lottery! The sofas were very tired and not good for my mum's back. Overall though, a special family holiday and I would go back!

Overall a lovely lodge. It could do with having its fridge/freezer, washing machine and cooker deepcleaned or upgraded. The frying pan specifically was very tired. The spa and sauna were great. Towels, bedding and so on were good.

The lodge was absolutely incredible. Plus points - -Incredible views.-Hot tub and sauna under cover so even when rubbish weather we still got to enjoy.- lots of space and storage - all basic things provided ie hoover, big fridge, nice clean cooker and hob and basic pots and pans. ( if you do a lot of home cooking maybe take a extra pan as only one there) - lots of windows for good air flow- easy to clean floors in kitchen for any messes. Only downsides were - the bed and sofa were a bit dated so not such a comfortable sleeping / lounging experience - the key pass on our phones didnt work so we had to go to reception to get a physical key card but staff were incredibly helpful and let us in to drop our bags off and locked the door to make life as easy as possible however these things definitely didnt ruin the holiday and we still were looking at return dates on day 2 because it was soooo lovely.

Lodge needs some TLC , door handles being held on by 1 screw, toilet flush loose, bathroom door unable to lock, sofa arm broken, plant decoration broken . Could be amazing with some care and attention.

Fantastic holiday, 1st time here, really impressed with the lodge, we stayed in a comfort plus lodge. Would get one with a hot tub next time. Had everything in there, plus puzzles and book for rainy days. Good location as was very peaceful but not far away to beach for day trips. Pool was good had everything for all ages. Would go back again

The lodge itself: - Woodland View 28In a good location without passing traffic and not far from the central activities and well stocked. However the lodge was not the nicest we have stayed in and is in real need of some TLC so would advise not to stay in this lodge:- Outside area overgrown and not well maintained.- Outdoor furniture worn and broken and not very comfortable.- Outdoor umbrella was faulty so had to remain open throughout which wasnt ideal in an already small and shady decking area. Maintenance couldnt fix. - Hot tub cover was old and probably saturated with water as has become so heavy that it is impossible to lift and replace for one person. - Windows were all filthy and looked like theyve not been cleaned in months. - Patio doors were missing a key so could only open the one door. Called maintenance about this and they couldnt find or replace the key. - Cleaning wasnt the best, freezer was dirty. - Kitchen blind was disgusting and stained. - Bathroom ventilation wasnt working and would guess this has been the case for a while as there is a fair amount of mould in the bathroom corners and around the window. Generally the lodge was really run down and disappointing compared to lots of other lodges we have stayed in at Finlake. Having said that, none of the issues were big enough problems to spoil the holiday. Definitely wouldnt choose this lodge in future though.

A bit small for a family of 6 and lacked some basics. We have visited finlake a number of times and never really get the same provisions at lodges. This lodge had no welcome pack and no spare bin bags. There was also no oven gloves or tea towel provided. Thats fine but it would be good to get consistency with what is provided. Generally though the lodge was clean and seemed fairly new. Outside area was large and well kept.

Considering it was the middle of the school holidays I thought the price was very reasonable, Caravan was a little bit tired but overall I cannot fault Finlake, site is immaculately tidy, great facilities, pools were lovely, most of the staff were friendly and helpful, got lucky with the weather which always helps. Me and the kids had a blast and Will definitely go back
