We had a really nice weekend here and definitely want to return later in the year! Great stay.

Lovely place, super clean, definitely worth a visit, would come again!

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon put so much effort into beautifully restoring the historic building and it really shows. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering through charming villages and discovering their history. Honestly, wed definitely recommend it for a relaxing break. Definitely coming back!

We had a really relaxing stay! The keyless entry was super convenient and the lodge was spotless and smelled lovely when we arrived. Its just a shame there werent dressing gowns for when you get out of the hot tub, but the staff checked it daily, so we knew it was always clean. Definitely planning to return!

The holiday home was spotless and had everything we needed. It was beautifully furnished, but honestly, it felt a bit too quiet for kids. Still, we really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed at this charming cottage tucked away on a working farm and it was surprisingly private. Robert and Sharon are lovely hosts, making us feel really welcome. The place itself is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave! The garden is ideal for dogs, fully enclosed and beautifully furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed exploring Thaxteds great restaurants like The Star and The Maypole. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our stay! The lodge was spotless and super comfy. The hot tub was amazing, even if the thermostat broke. Staff were friendly and quick to help fix it.

Overall, we had a lovely four-night stay. The only hassle was needing to use our phones to open the door, which was a bit annoying in the rain - worried about the battery. Luckily, our daughter was with us to help out. Still, a great trip!

Holiday home was clean and had everything you needed

We had a pretty relaxing stay overall. The lodge was clean, though we did notice quite a bit of dust on the blinds and skirting boards. No mattress or pillow protectors, which was a bit odd. Also, theres no lighting outside, so we had to be careful when letting the dog out at night. Still, the hot tub was fantastic and really made the trip special. Would recommend if youre after a peaceful escape!

We had a lovely stay at this lodge, its in a really convenient spot just off the main road, making it super easy to get to Exeter. Inside, the place is well kitted out - everything youd need for a comfy stay. The hot tub was a real highlight, really relaxing after a day out. Wed definitely come back! That said, we did notice the cleanliness couldve been better - the bin had a weird smell and when we changed it, there was waste at the bottom. The dishwasher had some food bits and the lamp shades were a bit dusty. Considering check-in is 5pm and check-out is 9am, Id expect it to be a bit cleaner with those extra hours for cleaning. Still, overall a good stay!

We recently stayed at this lovely lodge and honestly, its a bit of a mixed bag. The place itself is stunning - br and new and spotless, with a really inviting vibe. The kids loved the hot tub and the patio furniture was comfy enough for relaxing evenings. The sofa was also really nice, quite spacious and super comfy, which was a bonus. However, the kitchen was a bit of a letdown for us. As a family who enjoys cooking, we found it quite poorly stocked - no big bowls for pasta or noodles and the soup bowls were lacking. The utensils were poor quality too; I melted a spatula just trying to fry an egg! A set of decent mugs wouldve been a nice touch. The master bed was a real disappointment - felt like I was sleeping on springs, no support at all. Im only 5ft 2 and 56kg, but even I struggled. The twin rooms mattress was much better, so its odd how the main bedroom was so bad. Also, a small annoyance - our kids brought their Xbox, but we couldnt connect it because of how the TV was mounted. Still, overall, its a beautiful lodge and we enjoyed our stay!

The cottage was lovely, perfect for a peaceful escape. Just a heads up, planes fly over mostly at night since it's close to Stanstead. The hot tub was a real highlight!

The caravans ramps and wet room made it so much easier for my mum with her stick. Truly a perfect fit for her needs!

Overall, we had a lovely stay, but a quick heads-up: the cottage bin wasnt emptied from previous guests and it hadnt been hoovered either. No worries, though-my dog took care of the leftover crumbs under the sofas! Small details, but worth mentioning. Would stay again!

We had a fantastic stay in this caravan! Its super comfy with spring mattresses and crisp white sheets, plus plenty of towels. Everything was spotless and well-stocked with everyday essentials. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the cleaner was cheerful too. All in all, it made our holiday really enjoyable. Thanks a lot!
