Woodlands is a family-owned, all-weather theme park on the A3122, about 5 miles from Dartmouth in South Devon. It covers over 90 acres, with 16 rides, around 500 animals and several play zones, each with its own rides and attractions. There are water rides, a zoo farm and a falconry display with over 50 birds of prey.
Tip: Not every ride runs every day, so check the park's website for opening times and which rides are open before you set off.

Agatha Christie's former holiday home, styled as in the 1950s, with woodland gardens running down to the Dart estuary.
Greenway was once the holiday home of crime writer Agatha Christie. The house is styled as it looked in the 1950s and is filled with personal collections belonging to Christie and her family, including archaeological pieces, silver, china and books. The National Trust owns it.

Dartmouth Castle is an English Heritage fortress that has guarded the narrow entrance to the Dart Estuary for over 600 years. It is one of the most beautifully located fortresses in England, with the water all around and fine views out to sea. Its earliest parts date from the 1380s, and it is described as the oldest known purpose-built coast artillery fort in Britain.

The National Marine Aquarium sits in Sutton Harbour, near the Barbican in Plymouth. It is run by the Ocean Conservation Trust, a charity, and is split into four zones: Plymouth Sound, Eddystone Reef, Atlantic Ocean and Blue Planet. You'll see local sharks, rays and octopus, a jellyfish exhibit, and a huge Atlantic tank holding around 1,000 Caribbean fish, with lemon and sand tiger sharks.

Kents Cavern is a cave system in Torquay, with a long archaeological story. Visitors walk through a labyrinth of caverns surrounded by rocks around 400 million years old, with stalagmites and stalactites along the way. The caves were once used by ancient humans for shelter, fire-making, tool-making and hunting Ice Age animals, and the tour includes a moment of total darkness.
Tip: Book online to secure your preferred tour time, and arrive at least 15 minutes before it starts. Solo visitors should call ahead, as a tour needs at least two people.

Totnes Castle is one of the best preserved Norman motte-and-bailey castles in England, standing at the highest point of the hilltop town of Totnes in Devon. It was raised soon after the Conquest, and the stone shell-keep that crowns the mound dates from around the 14th century. It is now cared for by English Heritage.

Once again the only problem is staff not turning up to do breakfasts and it does need to be started earlier than 8.30

We stayed in a spacious chalet which comfortably accommodated 3 adults and 2 children. Some fittings needed attention (heater and towel rail were loose) but it was well equipped.
instead of a view of the bay we had a blockwall and 3 large waste bins to look at and resulting in a caravan full of flies.every thing looked very shabby and was in need of a complete overhaul
Caravan set up brilliant... clean tidy and everything you need, we was lucky almost next to the bar and swimming pool, not over run so was quite peaceful

We had an overall lovely stay at this cosy cottage. Its quite tucked away on a working farm, so it feels really private, which we loved. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are super friendly and welcoming. The place itself is surprisingly spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and a comfy bed-sleeping was a dream! The garden is perfect for dogs, completely secluded and nicely furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are well worth a visit. Wed definitely recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at this charming cottage. The owners are genuinely welcoming and really considerate, making us feel right at home. The place itself is beautifully kept, spotless and super cosy - the perfect spot to relax. The bathroom has a fantastic strong shower and the bed was so comfy. Parking right next to the cottage was a huge bonus and we enjoyed exploring the lovely walks around Thaxted. Definitely recommend!

Gold Chalet, I would hate to see the Silver Chalet.Fantastic scenery and surroundings.Small clubhouse, I guess in the summer,No chance of getting a table to sit down.Short walk into Brixham, about 15 minutes.
The scenery around Gold Chalet is stunning, really perfect for relaxing. The clubhouse is tiny, probably better in summer when you might snag a seat. Brixham is just a short, pleasant walk away-about 15 minutes.
We had a lovely time staying here! Sharon and Robert are genuinely welcoming hosts, making us feel right at home from the start. The place was spotlessly clean, super comfy and perfectly secure for our dog Archie, which was a big plus. The locations great too - plenty of lovely walks and exploring nearby villages like Thaxted. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed, it was just what we needed! Definitely recommend.

We had a bit of a hiccup with the mattresses when we arrived, but the camp office sorted it out quickly. When we came back after a couple of hours, new mattresses were already on the beds-impressive service! The site really is perfect for any holiday, whether with family or just the two of us. We booked this place for a relaxing dog walk break and it was just what we needed. Lovely accommodation, plenty of nearby pubs and eateries and endless fields for off-road adventures. Our dog loved it! Definitely coming back.
