Very clean and spacious

Ideal for a four day stay in easy reach of the Romney Marsh attractions and The Channel Ports.

Our chalet was big and pretty much a home from home. Modern facilities and clean. The outside area was nice with a table and grass for children to play.

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The owners were genuinely lovely and made us feel so welcome. Great place!

We had such a lovely stay! The cottage was spotless and super well-equipped, making it feel really cosy. The dog walks right outside were perfect for our furry friends. The host was lovely, friendly and quick to respond. Meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig, was a real highlight. Well definitely return - great value for money!

We had a fantastic weekend here and honestly, it ticked all our boxes. The place was perfect for relaxing and our dogs had a blast, especially with the underfloor heating which they adored. The garden was great for them to run around, though Luna did strain her tail from all the wagging! Totally pleased with our stay and will definitely return.

The location in Essex is perfect for exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages, which are full of charm and history. Its a cosy, relaxing spot that wed happily return to. Definitely worth a visit!

They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering around charming villages like Thaxted. Wed definitely recommend taking some time to soak in the local history and sights-definitely worth it!

We spent a week here in July with our two mini dachshunds and they absolutely loved it! The village of Thaxted is charming and the cottage itself is really lovely - especially the hot tub, which was perfect given the scorching weather. It was a real treat to relax in it after a day out. The hosts were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Nice to see their dogs being taken out to the fields daily too. And yes, being near the Stansted flight path means you get some plane spotting - we enjoyed it! Definitely recommend.

We took a much-needed dog walking break here and it was just what we needed. Lovely accommodation, plenty of nearby pubs and eateries and endless fields to explore. The dog loved it and didnt want to leave!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was super well equipped and felt really cosy, especially on that rainy December day. The bath was perfect after a long walk and the shower was just right. Being on a flight path didnt bother us at all, which was a relief. Perfect spot for dogs, especially if fireworks bother them. Beautifully converted place, thanks so much!

Fantastic 5 star ?

Just one or two things which were a frustrating. For example,we were on a fortnight’s holiday but had to request a change of bedding after the first week, and even then didn’t receive fresh pillowslips. There is also a lack of information provided on arrival,e.g location of nearest medical facilities.
Regarding cleaning, the caravan door was marked where all the door seals had been stuck.
All only small things but which add up to detract from overall first impressions

The site was clean and tidy. Our caravan was in a lovely quiet part of the site well away from the Entertainment Centre. We had no hot water when we arrived but the problem was dealt with very quickly by friendly and helpful staff in Reception.
