We were advised one week before that there was an issue with the hot tub and that Piperdam were waiting on a part and that it could be fixed for our arrival. We were offered a 20% refund, full refund and find somewhere else to go, we took the 20% as we knew there was the swimming pool at the resort but on arrival we were not advised by the reception that the hot tub was not working at all and told that the hot tub would be up to temperature and if not the next day. When we went into the cabin the hot tub lid oh my goodness what a mess this was not something that had just happened and is an issue the resort has known about for a significant amount of time and this cabin should never have been sold as a log cabin with hot tub as its was not fit for purpose. The cabin for being a pet free was very tired and I've seen pet friendly cabins at other resort in better condition.You only got 4 cups, 4 plates, 4 bowls, 4 forks, 4 knifes, 4 spoons etc and the other cooking utensils were very limited and for a self catering accommodation this was very poor.There was an ant in the fridge and on surfaces within the cabin.The beds were so uncomfortable it was the worst sleep I've ever had the mattress didnt even fit on the bed and in the twin room there was only one pillow.In the sauna the water bucket had a metal spoon in it which was a massive red flag as this could have causes burns to someone if they hadn't noticed.We had a meal in the restaurant which was over priced for what it was and items were missing from our order which the assistant manager did sort and give us a refund.We went to the birkhill Inn and the meal was amazing you got loads and it was worth the money plus alot cheaper than Piperdams food.

Simple touches to upgrade would make it much better.

Again dont know if we will return to piperdam .,

There were a few thing broken in the lodge, dining chairs, kitchen cupboard hanging off and down stairs shower door was hanging off so wouldnt closeNo wifi . Apart from this it was clean and spacious and we had a fab weekend celebrating my daughter turning 21. We will defo be back

I've been to piperdam 4 times and I was a little disappointed this time.The lodge was looking 'tired' with frayed carpets and the freezer door was missing and the shelf in the fridge was missing too. The hot tub certainly wasn't hot and the jets were pretty much non existent. Small things but details matter.The facilities are great, the staff are wonderful and the food and beer in howies bar were great.

Had a fantastic holiday with the family. A few disappointments with the Lodge and restaurant. But overall we had an absolute blast.

2 day break with family. Surrounding area and scenery is lovely. Reception area, bar and restaurant are also very nice. Unfortunately the lodges are part their best. Look like they have been neglected. The appear rundown compared to other lodges I have visited recently. Our lodges had a handle missing on the patio doors. The TV had no signal and wifi did not reach our lodge, also no mobile signal either. This didn't bother us but i can see how it could impact young families. You would expect the sbove to be dtandard in accommodation, especially "luxury " and the prices charged. Our lodge was about an 8 min walk to the restaurant. There is a path through the woods, there are lights on the path, but again these were not working. Overall, we were disappointed with our stay, and unfortunately wouldn't recommend.

Value for money with the offer, lodge was large and comfortable with two excellent on suites. Hot tub was great bonus, bar and restaurant was a nice area.

Just amazing

We had a very relaxing holiday in a spacious, well furnished spa lodge with sauna and hot tub on a large terrace. Very peaceful and pretty wooded surroundings. However, small fridge with ice box freezer and no door storage for milk carton etc. For the size of the lodge and semi rural location I would have expected a larger fridge/freezer. If using the hot oven take oven gloves as none supplied and also no plastic glasses for the spa area. Also basic crockery per person supplied/no extras therefore clean as you go. Only a suggestion and not a negative hooks on the back of doors for towels and robes would be handy.

We had a lovely relaxing break with everything in the lodge we needed how ever there were two light bulbs not working. Our meal at the restaurant was a bit disappointing as I couldnt eat the roast beef. We have eaten there before and everything has been perfect.

Funny Smell in lodge, Emptied the bins trying to get rid of it only to find the washing machine was full of dirty water that wouldn't drain

Lovely, comfortable and warm. Showers were brilliant as was the sauna

Bed is comfortable. The sofas are very hard and uncomfortable

Uncomfortable bed and bed bugs mismatch furniture and old and tired

Excellent holiday.. Staff is absolutely outstanding .Definitely needs a card machine..and mirrors within the lodge.. Facilities are excellent. Area also amazing . Thankyou piperdam you did not disappoint !

Comfy sofas but well worn and ripped in bits . Bed comfy although base was bigger than mattress

A lady came just as we arrived at the time all we new was wrong was patio doors left one would not open right one handle was broken she said she would get someone up to fix it never happened when we went to put cloths in the cupboards big bedroom doors would not open and in one of the small rooms it was the same,when you were in the shower no curtains on the window,frying pan was all burnt and we had to wash the cups before use as was dirty

Had a fabulous holiday at the Braveheart Pet Lodge @ Piperdam. Masses of space really impressive. Games room too. The lodge is a bit tired. No teapot - found this a bit strange in a self catering lodge? Hot tub not working properly. But all in all had a great holiday.

Stayed at the Byron from Monday to Friday. Check in and check out is late and early. It was a pet friendly lodge. The floors and furniture were clean but the rugs were filthy and need washed, the walls and skirtings need painted to be fresh . The hoover stank when switched on. Quite small and compacts very odd to get to bedroom to walk through a bathroom. Bed was large and comfortable. Sat and had a few drinks in the bar, this too could be doing with being hoovered food was nice but expensive. Truffle chips were chips with Parmesan scraped on.

Furniture & fittings were slightly tired - the carpets were needing cleaned . Luckily we were aware that there was no internet - good value at this time of year

During a week's stay we had to move lodge due to non-functioning essential kitchen equipment. The heating in the upstairs bedrooms didn't work in the second lodge, not pleasant during sub-zero temperatures. A work-around solution was attempted 2 days before we left which meant that the downstairs bedrooms were unbearably hot...Due to these and other shortcomings we spent a lot of time speaking with customer services and sorry to say that out of the 12 or so people I had to deal with only 4 appeared to have had any training in how to deal with paying customers.Facilities on-site were pretty good.The company evidently has a budgetary imbalance and is currently overspending on marketing whilst underinvesting on staff training and maintenance.

Very enjoyable weekend.Furniture needs updated.Drawers in room broken and few of armchairs broken also.

The lodge was disgusting, cobwebs, urine stained mattress, not hoovered. We spoke with manager who arranged for domestic staff to do a deep clean we were trying to leave when they came and they had finished before we left the lodge- 15-20mins it took them to do what was meant to be a deep clean. We then spoke to the higher up manager who arranged another deep clean and requested photos to be sent to him he also checked that the deep clean had been done fully. On top of this the lodge is looking tired numerous broken chairs

This was our 2nd booking, loved the lodge and the hot tub and the sauna, will be back soon.

Lodge a bit tired Heating not working initially but resolved Very noisy pipes through the night sleep disturbed No trays for oven Light outside lodge not working No lights on streets which made it almost impossible to walk to centre at night as the roads were full of pot holes which mad it dangerous to walk at night and also to drive iRestaurant choice very poor both nights we visited at least 3 items were not available also had to keep coat on very chillyVery disappointed feel like its become very run down wont return

Holiday was great. Shower wasnt working in 1 room kitchen doors falling off bit dated could do with a revamp. Also would have been great if Wii fi was included

Hadn't been cleaned before arrival Microwave dirty3 bedroom lodge 3 table lamps in bedrooms which had to be split into each bedroom. No table lamps in lounge. Had to use ceiling lights which too bright. Ensuite shower drain blocked so water didn't drain away Few other issuesOverall very disappointed with the lodge

Absolutely blown away by the location. How great the staff were, how any problems we had were sorted out straightaway. We unfortunately had somebody in our lodge on arrival and we was moved straight into another one with a surprise Christmas tree inside which made the children very happy. it was very comfortable no problems with the hot tub whatsoever Booked treatments for the family which everybody loved and overall a wonderful break.
