We had a lovely time at this cottage tucked away on a working farm, yet surprisingly private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are genuinely charming hosts. The place itself is really spacious, with well-equipped kitchens and bathrooms-everything you need. The bed was super comfy, which was a bonus. The garden is perfect for dogs, completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plenty of nice walks nearby and Thaxted's restaurants like The Star and The Maypole are worth a visit. Wed definitely recommend it!

We had such a lovely stay! The house was super well equipped and kept us warm on a cold, rainy December day-really appreciated that. The bath was just perfect and the shower was a nice size. The location was ideal for our dog, especially since there's no fireworks noise around. Honestly, the place is beautifully converted and in a peaceful spot. Thanks a lot, well be back!

Parking right outside was a big plus and we enjoyed peaceful walks across the fields to Thaxted, which is full of pretty half-timbered houses and a windmill. Its a great spot for a relaxing getaway. Overall, we had a lovely time! The boat house was charming, though the restaurant was a bit disappointing. Sadly, the steak and ice cream were out of stock. Still, a nice experience!

We had a fantastic stay at this cosy spot tucked away in such a peaceful, private setting. The hosts were super friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, yet they respected our space completely. After a long cycling day, the hot tub was just what we needed - absolute bliss! The only thing to note is that the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our holiday at all. Wed definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon have done an amazing job transforming this historic building and they were so welcoming from the moment we arrived - made us feel right at home, along with Bonnie. The location is perfect for exploring Essex; we loved wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages to soak up the charming atmosphere and learn about the area's rich history. Definitely recommend!

Rob and Sharon did an amazing job converting this historic building and they were incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived-Bonnie was a sweet touch too. The place has everything you need for a relaxing break. The locations perfect for exploring Essex, especially Thaxted and the surrounding villages with all their charming history and beautiful buildings. Highly recommend!

Every thing you need if you have children tesco kfc mcdonald's it's all about 5 min walk site is clean and tidy staff are grate all in all 10 out of 10 we travel 5 hours to get there and will do again
