Sofas were also uncomfortable. Everything else in chalet very good. Big fridge. Dishwasher. Very good overall.

We were booked for 3 nights, but left after 1 night due to the uncleanliness of the chalet.Within seconds of entering the chalet we were met with an overwhelming smell of damp, an unhoovered mat and crisps under the sofa. Not to mention the brown used sponge on the door step.We went on to find mould in multiple locations, cobwebs, hair and dirt down the sides of the beds. The mattress on the double bed showed blood stained mattress through the sheet and did not even have a mattress topper.I asked your reception to move us, but was told there was no other accommodation available (even though your website said otherwise).It was the most disgusting accommodation I have ever stayed in and you should be ashamed to take people's money when the standards are so very low.

Only negative was that the shower door was not fully sealed which resulted in water on the floor. This was probably why there was a bit of a smell when the chalet had been closed. The beds were comfy

We had a fantastic time at this charming cottage! The setting was so peaceful, perfect for unwinding. The hot tub was a real highlight and the place was spotless with all the essentials. Plenty of lovely walks nearby too. Highly recommend!

We had a lovely time staying in the Appledore chalet. Everything was super clean and the bed was so comfy, we slept really well. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking up meals and everyone we met was really friendly. The only downside was the TV; it pixelated quite a bit, which was a bit annoying sometimes. Still, overall a great holiday!

We needed a quick getaway and found this place spot on. The accommodation was lovely and the nearby pubs and fields made it perfect for walks. Our dog didnt want to leave either-absolutely loved it!

We spent a lovely week here with our two small dogs and they really loved exploring the village of Thaxted and making new furry friends. The cottage itself is charming and the hot tub was a definite highlight, especially during those scorching summer days-it was so nice to dip into cool water! The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. Watching the planes land near Stansted was surprisingly enjoyable, adding a bit of entertainment to our evenings. Overall, wed definitely recommend for a relaxed getaway!

The owners were super friendly and always available if we needed anything, but still maintained that lovely sense of seclusion. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling - perfect! One thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our trip at all. Would definitely recommend!

We had a fantastic stay at this cottage! The place is super well-kept and offers everything you could need. The dog walks right outside were a real bonus and we loved meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig. The host was lovely, very responsive and made us feel really welcome. We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into restoring this historic building and it shows. They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable. The place has everything you need for a relaxing break. The location is perfect - right in Essexs charm-filled countryside. We also enjoyed wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages, soaking up the history and stunning architecture. Would definitely recommend!

The welcome pack was super helpful, full of useful info and menus, which made settling in so easy. The little touches for our dogs and us were much appreciated. The enclosed garden was perfect for the pups and the hot tub was just the right touch after a long day. Sharon and RobeRead were quick to respond too. Great break altogether!

My family Absolutely loved our holiday location was amazing and the views over the ocean ??

We stayed in an 8 berth, 3 bedroom caravan. It was immaculate when we arrived. Also, despite us arriving early we were able to access the caravan straight away which was really nice.
My only slight complaint (more of a feedback than complaint), is that a caravan which sleeps up to 8 people needs to have more kitchen utensils and crockery available! There were 7 of us and to cook pasta for dinner, the three small saucepans still weren't enough! Please consider equipping vans with larger capacity reflecting this!

The site is on a steep hill, however this WAS mentioned on the website when booking and did not negatively affect us, aside from giving us a bit of a workout!

Staff were all friendly especially the pool lifeguards who were really chatty and nice.
The swimming pools!!!! Oh the swimming pools!!! The outdoor pool was like being abroad (we were lucky with the weather). I can't recommend it enough.

A really nice park and we would definitely visit again and rave to our friends about it. Thank you for a lovely short break! Xx

Lovely location. Clean Lodge. Quiet, well kept grounds.

Single mum 4 kids aged 10 months to 12 years we were luckily enough to be close to the main area and the pool and shop wasn't too far away the park was fab my kids absolutely loved it. The area for the show was pretty small but again kids seemed to enjoy it. Staff were helpful when I needed them and very patient in the arcades waiting for my very indecisive kids choosing their winnings

the lodge was lovely lots of space. helpful that there was a washing machine and dishwasher with 2 small children. lots of space for them to play. wish there had of been a gate on the veranda like some of the others had as our littlest couldn't go outside as he would have fallen down the steps but it was fine.
