Sofas were also uncomfortable. Everything else in chalet very good. Big fridge. Dishwasher. Very good overall.

We were booked for 3 nights, but left after 1 night due to the uncleanliness of the chalet.Within seconds of entering the chalet we were met with an overwhelming smell of damp, an unhoovered mat and crisps under the sofa. Not to mention the brown used sponge on the door step.We went on to find mould in multiple locations, cobwebs, hair and dirt down the sides of the beds. The mattress on the double bed showed blood stained mattress through the sheet and did not even have a mattress topper.I asked your reception to move us, but was told there was no other accommodation available (even though your website said otherwise).It was the most disgusting accommodation I have ever stayed in and you should be ashamed to take people's money when the standards are so very low.

Only negative was that the shower door was not fully sealed which resulted in water on the floor. This was probably why there was a bit of a smell when the chalet had been closed. The beds were comfy

We had a lovely time staying in the Appledore chalet. Everything was super clean and the bed was so comfy, we slept really well. The kitchen had all the essentials for cooking up meals and everyone we met was really friendly. The only downside was the TV; it pixelated quite a bit, which was a bit annoying sometimes. Still, overall a great holiday!

We needed a quick getaway and found this place spot on. The accommodation was lovely and the nearby pubs and fields made it perfect for walks. Our dog didnt want to leave either-absolutely loved it!

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon really put a lot of effort into restoring this historic building and it shows. They gave us a warm welcome and Bonnie was adorable. The place has everything you need for a relaxing break. The location is perfect - right in Essexs charm-filled countryside. We also enjoyed wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages, soaking up the history and stunning architecture. Would definitely recommend!
