Really lovely spot for a peaceful escape. Sharon and Robert have clearly put a lot of effort into making sure everythings just right. Even though weve been before, were already planning our next visit! Definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were perfect. The warm welcome from the owners made it even better. Lovely folks!

We had such a lovely stay! The place comfortably fit four of us plus our two dogs, which was perfect. Everything was well stocked-pots, pans, dishes, glasses-and the towels, robes and slippers added a nice touch. The en suites in each room were great. The hot tub was spotless and looked after daily. Honestly, we cant wait to come back!

Comfortable stay, would recommend it

We've stayed at Knights Lodge a few times now and its always a lovely experience. The location is spot on - just 20 minutes from home but feels much further away in a good way, surrounded by nice walks and close to Burton and Ashby for shopping. The lodge itself is always spotless and well-maintained. The hot tub is a real treat, kept clean daily, which we really appreciate. Only downside this time was Poppy Lodges seating - its a bit cramped with six people, so some extra chairs or a sofa would make it perfect. Still, well definitely be back!

We've stayed at Knights Lodges several times, but this was our first time in an Autograph Lodge. Booking for our family of five, including four adults and a teen, was straightforward and hassle-free. The lodge was spotless and well-equipped, with plenty of space. The hot tub was a lovely touch! Overall, a really relaxing stay wed happily repeat.

We had a fantastic time at the lodge! The hot tub with stunning views made our Christmas really special. Already booked for next year!

We really appreciated how much effort Rob, Sharon and Bonnie put into restoring this historic place. The warm welcome made us feel right at home from the start. Goddard's Mead offers all you need for a chill and comfy stay. The locations perfect-easy to explore Thaxted and the surrounding villages, which are full of interesting history and lovely old buildings. Definitely worth taking the time to wander around and soak it all in!

We stayed here recently and honestly, the staff really go above and beyond-so attentive and friendly. The place is spotless, quiet and the little welcome pack was a nice touch. WiFi was quick and reliable, which was great for our plans. The only minor annoyances were the sofa being a bit firm and a few more utensils wouldve been handy. Also, trying to get hot water was a bit of a hassle and the bins at the front caused some chaos at checkout. But overall, wed definitely recommend it!

We had a fantastic stay at the lodge! It truly had everything we needed, from the cosy warmth to the spacious bathroom. The hot tub was a highlight; we couldnt get enough of it. Lovely lodges, nice clean site in peaceful location with plenty to do in the nearby area. It appears the site is currently undergoing the addition of leisure complex which would be a fantastic addition to the site. Would definitely recommend and would return

Fantastic lodge for a holiday. The hot tub was amazing and really did the trick for spending an evening. Although in a quiet location, there was plenty of places to visit close by including Alton Towers. The lodge was spotless, hosts were lovely and very informative and the welcome gifts were a lovely touch. Highly recommend this place for families.

Great lodges for a quiet relaxing break.

Very comfortable accommodation! Great facilities! Good location, out on its own, but only 5mins drive from a shop and 10mins from Burton for a wider range of shops etc! We stayed with our 2 kids and everyone really enjoyed our stay! We will be back!

Perfect holiday

We absolutely loved the lodge was lovely and quiet you do need to travel by car to get anywhere

Lodges are brand new and spotless. Owners communication was superb and the only difficulty we had was dealt with extremely quickly. Lovely location too. We plan to go back and would highly recommend to others. Only 2 points were that there is not much privacy for hot tubs as hedges are new and have not grown in yet and that there was no cafetiere.

Superb location and fantastic quality lodges. We've visited Knights Lodges 4 time now, and we're always really happy with everything about our stay.

Lovely lodge .. new, clean, spacious, well furnished. Great hot tub. In a field overlooking sheep. Not too far from food shops. Near a garden centre. Could do with oven glove, surface cleaning spray, a better can opener and corkscrew, more cutlery and another pan (we cook rather than eat out). Staff respond quickly to queries and care about your holiday experience.

We enjoyed a three nights with my family.
It is very unique stay with mix of luxury and countryside feeling.
The customer service was very helpful and they were willing to help.
I highly recommend this destination for who is looking for a relaxation away from the city.
