High Lodge - Reviews

We spent a very nice weekend at High Lodge and came home feeling very relaxed. The site is small and peaceful and at times we felt like the only ones there. Our lodge was really stylish with a nice balcony area where we could sit out and enjoy the views. My husband enjoyed the golf course too.

Our cabin rental advurtene in Central New YorkWe all had a great time. I, Julia, love seeing animals so I got to! This cabin felt like home. Everything was the best.Sophie is such a nice girl and we had such a nice time at the river. We should keep in touch. Julia, Jordan, Tracey and BrianPS- I really want to stay here again!

2nd stay. Lovely clean cabin. Cafe and food excellent. Very friendly staff. Will be coming back again

Really enjoyed the experience

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The view of the lake was stunning and made our trip special. The only small gripe was theres no proper spot to hang a toilet bag or place shower gel and flannels in the shower. Still, were definitely coming back and hoping for the same lodge!

The lodge was absolutely lovely, with stunning views over the lake. Not sure why the fishing spots are placed where they are, but we didnt bother since we dont fish!

We had a really relaxing stay, with fantastic fishing just outside the lodge. Theres loads of interesting spots nearby too. The lodge itself was spacious, comfy and well kitted out.

Really enjoyed our stay, it felt homely, just wish there was a sofa bed included.

We felt right at home here! Perfect for couples and older kids. The hot tub was a real highlight and those lake views are stunning. Highly recommend!

We had such a lovely stay! The lodge was spotlessly clean and had modern touches that made everything feel fresh. The bed was super comfy with plenty of pillows and those homemade treats from the local bakery were a real highlight. Great value too!

The lodge was really roomy and super comfy and it had everything we needed. I was a bit envious it didnt come with a hot tub like some others, but honestly, it was a perfect spot for our getaway. Wed definitely return!

We really enjoyed our stay! It was super relaxing and ideal for both couples and families. Definitely worth adding a small play area for the little ones to enjoy more fun.

We really appreciated the break, even with the restaurant being closed. Fishing, shooting, golf and footy golf made it a great stay overall!

We loved it so much that we're eager to book again this year, but most dates seem to be fully booked already, which is a bit of a shame.

The beds were super comfy, honestly! We loved the fluffy towels too. Only thing is, we couldve used more crockery - five plates just isnt enough for a family of four. Nice touch with the hand wash though, much appreciated!

We had a lovely holiday break; the place is peaceful after hours, though shooting noise can be a bit much sometimes. Still, worth it!

We were a party of 6 ladies celebrating a 60th Birthday.

The setting of our Lodge was wonderful, peaceful and with lots of wildlife including some cheeky hares, ducks and other birds.

We didn’t use any of the facilities. The restaurant had limited opening times which didn’t suit us.

Something tripped our power and we had to call out of hours and they were exceptionally helpful. Great communications and someone came to check too.

Lovely hot tub which seemed to work better after the electrical issue!

Comfortable beds, good outdoor table and seating and the kitchen was equipped sufficiently to cook basic meals. The dishwasher was a little unpredictable.

The check in was very limited - open from 4.00pm to 5.00pm which when travelling a distance we felt was a little unreasonable. Email details were sent on how to access as we were still travelling at 5.00pm.

It did feel a little remote and you need a car to get anywhere really. However if you want a break where you stay on site, participate in High Lodge activities such as the target sports and fishing then it would suit you well.

Overall we enjoyed our weekend break and would recommend.

Lovely peaceful setting, apart from clay shooting, but I expected that.. cafe was clean and pleasant with lovely staff, both there and on reception. I did have a broken window latch, which I reported, but nothing done about it. Cabin could be easily accessed while I was away. A bit of concern for me. I am what you’d call a person with walking difficulties, but I am able to climb a few steps and walk short distances over gravel paths. I’m not sure if you cater for wheelchair/mobility scooter users but the gravel could be very difficult. Perhaps a couple of hard surface disability parking spaces outside reception would be useful, therefore enabling easy access to the cafe etc.. do you even have any cabins accessible for wheelchairs? It would be good if you have , because the cabins are roomy enough inside. A wet room shower room would probably be needed. I loved the way the cabins all overlooked the lake, without looking into each other’s accommodation.

Perfect place for relaxation and peace with everything we needed in a superb lodge.

the lodge was superb and spotless.staff were very very friendly.only thing lacking was air con but we had taken our own fan.will not rate the restaurant as we did not use .

Friendly welcome beautiful surroundings lodges are very well equipped the with lovely furniture and comfy beds.
Nicely situated around the lake with privacy for all.

My husband had an accident whilst on holiday and the staff went above and beyond the call of duty in their help and support.
We were unable to use the facilities but the location was stunning.
