Really enjoyed my stay here. The wonderful views of Berrynarbour out the windows of our lodge. Excellent people running the place they were really friendly and helpful. The best part is that pets can stay. I could take my cat with me which was great. What more could you ask for!

Unfortunately the lodge hadnt been cleaned when we arrived, they did come and do it straight away.overall I think they could do with a little tlc and a deep clean.

We stayed at this lovely house and it was perfect for our needs. The place was super warm and cosy, which was a lifesaver on that rainy December day. The bath was fantastic and the shower was spacious too. Being on a flight path didnt bother us at all-honestly, we barely noticed. Great spot for dogs scared of fireworks since its so remote. Thanks a lot!

We had such a lovely stay at this cosy cottage! Its packed with everything you could possibly need, honestly, we didnt have to bring a thing. The welcome pack was super handy, with all the info and menus sorted out nicely. The owners, Sharon and Rob, are really quick to reply if you have any questions. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden and the hot tub was just perfect for relaxing after a day out. Thanks for a wonderful break - well definitely be back!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was super well equipped and kept us cosy, even on a rainy December day. The bath was perfect and the shower was really spacious. Being near the flight path didnt bother us at all, so dont worry about that. Its in a quiet spot, great for dogs who dislike fireworks. Overall, a lovely, well converted place - wed definitely come back!

Hoseasons says check in is from 5. On the door of the lodge, it said 3. Get it consistent!On entering, there was a card saying that "we" (the owners? Maintenance staff?) would be round every day and giving a phone number for any problems. I saw no evidence of anyone coming round and, when we sent a text about some issues, we got no reply.The property could have been cleaned better. Big, dirty cobweb in the shower. Lots of other little but more recent cobwebs. Doors were dirty with finger marks. On the walls next to the bed there were marks which I hope were coffee or tea splashes. And some human hairs stuck to the wall.In the bathroom the light didn't work (although there was a light above the mirror which helped). The shower on high power was scalding. On "Eco" you get little more than a dribble, although you can get that to a reasonable temperature. The shower holder fell apart. The flush was enthusiastic but ineffective so it could take 4 or more flushes to get rid of everything. I'm 6ft and I couldn't see any of my face in the mirror unless I bent down. The bin hadn't been emptied.Cooking facilities were OK and the pans were decent. The sofa was the least comfortable that I've ever spent a week with. The advert promised a DVD player, which appeared to be part of the TV but it didn't work. The TV was small with a limited number of Freeview channels (basically BBC, ITV, 4 and 5) and the audio was poor: it sounded distorted. And the pedal on the pedal bin was broken. The promised wifi didn't work: couldn't get our phones to connect at all; my laptop did connect but couldn't connect to the Internet. I did re-check the advert and the DVD and wifi appeared to have been removed.The bedroom was very small with a small wardrobe and no drawers at all. There were sockets on one side of the bed. On the other side there were some in the wall but cables to the bedside table would have trailed across the doorway. The bed was OK.There were a number of heaters, which were good and effective.The front door didn't fit brilliantly, with the result that we had a couple of slugs visit us.The view was pretty good.All in all, it was a pretty uncomfortable experience, offset only by the low price.

Awful left 3 days before we should have filthy

The lodge was awful, smelt bad,damp, mould on ceilings, cooker awful, not been cleaned, Beds were bad, mattresses where disgusting seimun stains, hair, grubby.All round extremely poor,

We had such a lovely stay in this good place! The location is stunning and super private, which we really appreciated. The owners were genuinely friendly and always ready to help if we needed anything, but it still felt quite secluded. The hot tub was a real highlight after a long day cycling around. One thing to note, though, is that the cottage is beneath Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but it might be a concern if you're very sensitive to noise.

We had a really lovely stay! Sharon and Robert were such welcoming hosts, making us feel right at home. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for our dog Archie - he was safe and happy. The location was brilliant with lots of walks nearby and Thaxted and the surrounding villages are just charming. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed - it was just what we needed!

Whole Lodge needs updating, sofa and bed uncomfortable, shower cubicle was repaired with black tape, could be lovely accommodation with a lot of TLC

The lodge was lovely and suited our needs perfectly. A bit of TLC wouldnt hurt-some windows wont close, the door handles broken and the bedside lights out. Still, overall, we enjoyed it!

Just a very basic cabin .inside the drawers had a funny smell had to go out an but fresheners. The toilet didn't smell nice.

We were advised that there were steps to the cabin, but not that they were like crazy paving and quite uneven. No WiFi in cabin. Windows left open and the cabin was full of bugs and flies. No allocated parking, the only space was where we were blocking the access point, due to the occupants of adjoining cabin taking up a whole space for 2 cars with a mini. If you are over 6 feet tall, you'll struggle with the shower. If you want to watch the TV, take binoculars as it is tiny. The bed is extremely uncomfortable and there is very little storage for clothes. We left after one night and booked a premier Inn, just for a good nights sleep.

Really enjoyed the stay, can't wait to return!

We had a great week at this place from 15 to 22 July with our two mini dachshunds, who loved meeting other dogs in the village of Thaxted. The cottage itself is really charming and the hot tub was such a treat-especially during the hotest days of the year, it was lovely to cool off in it. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming and it was nice to see their dogs out in the fields each day. Also, being near Stansteds flight path was interesting; we enjoyed watching the planes land. Definitely recommend !

Great location with lovely views. Fantastic for us and 3 dogs with walks all around.

Very friendly and helpful staff; Justin! Lovely clean lodge, with everything we needed. Beautiful views and a lovely dog walk at the back of the site. Up a very steep hill! But well worth it. Would highly recommend. Our second visit.

Very nice, with 2dogs it can be difficult but this was nice and easy.

We had one problem which was the shower door we were told a it would be fixed, but ended up doing the repair ourselves, we were unable to use the shower before then,still had a wonderful stay beautifull place .
