It was a lovely little cottage, our host Jamie was very friendly. When we expresed that we wanted try fishing and never done so, he gave us lesons and lots of trips for where to go around the area. Highly recommend

Me and my family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage! The only problem we had was we had no direct contact with the owner, the number Hoseasons had for them was incorrect and I couldnt get hold of anyone for the check in and then for the entire stay. It wasnt too much of a problem and it isnt the owners fault but the number needs updating Incase you have any questions. Besides this the cottage was better than we expected and had was lovely and clean.

The owners really went above and beyond when the storm knocked out the power, which was lovely. The cottage was spotless, warm and well-equipped. Our dog loved the secure garden and we all enjoyed the hot tub!

We had a really nice stay at this place, nestled in a peaceful, private spot. The owners were super friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, but they kept a respectful distance to maintain the tranquility. The hot tub was a lovely touch after a day out cycling-absolutely relaxing! The only thing is, the cottage is quite close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us too much once we got used to it, but its worth noting if youre sensitive to noise. Overall, a great find!

We really enjoyed our stay at Goddard Mead. The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were a big bonus. The owners made us feel so welcome, lovely people indeed.

We had a fantastic stay at this place! The house was super well equipped and kept us cosy despite the pouring rain outside. The bath was really relaxing and the shower was a decent size - perfect after a long day. Being near the flight path didnt bother us at all and its ideal if youve got dogs that dislike fireworks since its quite remote. A really lovely, well converted spot. Thanks a lot!

We had a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon have truly put a lot of effort into restoring this historic building and it shows. They gave us such a warm welcome, along with Bonnie, of course! The place has everything you need for a comfy, relaxing visit. The location is perfect for exploring Essex - definitely recommend taking some time to wander around Thaxted and the nearby villages to soak up the history and charming sights. Its really worth it!

We enjoyed seeing the horses and the owners were super friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. Definitely recommend it for anyone after a relaxing getaway. Well be back!

We loved the cottage! Its perfectly tucked away but still close enough to enjoy local shops and eateries. The hot tub was a real treat and the bathroom with underfloor heating was a luxury. Rob, Sharon and Bonnie made us feel so welcome. Cant wait to return!

We had a fantastic time at Cwtch Cottage! The place is full of character and feels super cosy, especially with the log burner blazing away. Everything we needed was there and it was spotless when we arrived. The weather was pretty rubbish the whole time, but honestly, we didnt mind because the cottage was so comfy. The locations lovely too and breakfast at the on-site cafe was absolutely gorgeous! Were already thinking about our next visit-cant wait to return!

While the verandah table was a bit wobbly and the indoor table was still sticky from varnish, we had a great time. The beds were super comfy and the Wi-Fi plus smart TV worked flawlessly. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

We really enjoyed our stay at Cerrig Cottage. Its a lovely space - well thought out and super cosy. Everything was in great condition and the owner even went out of their way to put up a stair gate for us, which was really kind.

We stayed at this peaceful spot and honestly, its perfect if youre after some serious chill time. The area isnt bustling, which we loved. We mostly relaxed at the cottage, only wandering out a few times. Its a great place to unwind and enjoy a quiet weekend away, no stress at all.

Absolutely fantastic!!! Could not fault the site, location or owners in any way.
We stayed for 3 nights in one of the cabins. Beautiful scenery and wildlife just outside our windows. We even got to try fly fishing at the lake... the kids Absolutely loved it, we even came home with a 3 legged pet frog.

Can't wait to go back!!

A lovely, peaceful site beside a lake and set in beautiful countryside. If you're after a quiet escape with fantastic scenery then this will be hard to beat! Lots of things to see and do in the surrounding area and not far from the coast.

Escape from the world, peaceful and tranquil. My dogs were relaxed as there was no one else around, usually there take ages to settle in , not here.

Me and my partner stayed a week in Ash Lodge and it was beautiful!! Great views off the front porch and we could ever take both our our fur babies with us! Looking forward to booking again next year
