Terrible, definitely wouldnt go back. The only plus point was its location. Although there was lots of empty rooms with a balcony sea view, we were stuck at the back of the hotel in room 10 overlooking the forecourt and laundry. The site is completely non smoking but our room stunk of cigarettes. Didnt get an email to tell us where to pick our keys up, I had to phone several times before finally getting through to someone on the morning of our arrival. No staff on site to speak to. The apartment needed completely updating, the beds were really uncomfortable, we slept in the single beds on the second night because the mattres on the double bed was terrible.

Had a great holiday. Location perfect for visiting popular tourist destinations as well as walking the coastal path.
We needed a break for walking the dog and this place was just right. Lovely comfy accommodation, plenty of nearby pubs and eateries and endless fields for off-road adventures-our pup didnt want to leave either!
We stayed in apartment 8 and honestly, it was a lovely place. Everything looked freshly decorated and spotless. The twin beds were super comfy and the sofa bed was just as good - perfect for a relaxing stay. The apartment was quite spacious, which we appreciated. Not fussed about the balcony view since the hills near the car park were quite pretty too!
The accommodation was great for our needs, it had everything we needed for a five night break. Being 200yards from the beach was a perfect location. We thoroughly enjoyed walking along the clifts to see both sun rise and sunset. We were very close to Newquay which was like a five minute drive.
We had a wonderful stay at the cottage! The location is perfect - peaceful and very relaxing, with stunning farm views. Seeing the horses was a lovely touch. The owners were so friendly and attentive, making sure we lacked nothing. Definitely a great spot for anyone wanting a quiet escape. Highly recommend!
We had such a relaxing time here! Sharon and Robert really go above and beyond to make sure everythings perfect. Its peaceful and cosy and even after two visits, were already planning to return soon. Love it!
We absolutely loved our stay! The rural setting was stunning and peaceful. The hot tub was a real highlight, making it feel super indulgent. Ideal for peaceful country walks too.
We really enjoyed our stay at this cosy cottage. Perfect for a peaceful escape, though the night-time planes can be a bit noisy. The hot tub was a highlight!
We stayed at this charming cottage on a working farm and honestly, it was perfect for a peaceful getaway. The privacy was great, even though the farm was active around us. The owners, Robert and Sharon, couldnt have been nicer. The place itself was really spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfy bed. The garden was lovely, dog-proof and had nice furniture for relaxing outside. Plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed a few good meals in Thaxted-The Star and The Maypole being our favourites. Overall, wed definitely recommend it!
This place is a real gem! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The hot tub was a highlight and the peaceful surroundings made it perfect for unwinding. Plenty of lovely walks nearby too. We had a fantastic time!
What a lovely stay! The owners were super friendly and helpful, especially when the power went out during the storm. The place was spotless, warm and really well kitted out. Our dog loved the garden and the hot tub was a bonus!
We had a lovely stay at this cosy spot nestled in a quiet, private area. The hosts were genuinely friendly and always ready to help if needed, yet they respected our privacy completely. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day cycling - so relaxing! The only thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is close to Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us too much after a while, but if youre sensitive to noise, its worth noting. Overall, a great little escape!
We stayed at this place recently and honestly, its a gem. The house is super well equipped and kept us really warm, which was perfect given the rainy December weather. The bath was a lovely touch and the shower was big enough for two! The location is peaceful - no worries about the flight path, it didnt bother us at all. Perfect spot if your dog hates fireworks too, so quiet and beautiful. Thanks again!
Had a lovely weekend here, perfect for a peaceful anniversary escape. Highly recommend this place!
The cottage was really charming and nicely situated for what we needed. Loved the peaceful surroundings away from busy areas. The hot tub was a lovely bonus! The owners were super helpful without being intrusive. They've got it spot on!
Really enjoyed our stay, the place was lovely and were already planning to return soon!
We had a really lovely stay overall, though we couldnt believe how the weather only cleared up right after we left! A couple of things could make it even better - like having a tap outside to rinse off the sand before heading inside, which would save a lot of mess. And the Wi-Fi was a bit of a nightmare; we had no signal most of the time and really relied on it for emergencies, especially with a toddler. It was only decent at the front door. Still, wed definitely come back, fingers crossed for better weather next time!
We absolutely loved the cosy cottage - the hot tub and log burner made it special. The hosts were lovely, very peaceful spot. Hope to come back soon!
We stayed at this charming cottage and honestly, it had everything we needed - we didnt have to bring much at all! The owners, Sharon and Rob, really thought of everything, from the well-stocked welcome pack to the little extras for our dogs. The enclosed garden was perfect for the pups and the hot tub was just the icing on the cake. Communication was quick and friendly, which made everything so much easier. We had a lovely break and cant recommend it enough!
Lovely stay, warm hosts and that jacuzzi really made our trip special. Would recommend!
We loved the peaceful vibe and how spotless everything was. The hosts were super friendly. The hot tub was a highlight and our dog enjoyed the garden too!
We stayed at Goddard's Mead recently and really enjoyed our time there. Rob and Sharon have done a fantastic job converting this historic building with such care and theyre genuinely lovely people. Bonnie was adorable too! The place offers everything you need for a chilled, comfy stay. The location is perfect - right in a lovely part of Essex. Wed definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and nearby villages; theres so much charm and history around. Its well worth the visit!
We just got back from a week at Goddards Mead and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage had everything we needed, super well stocked. The hosts were genuinely friendly and warm. Even being on a working farm, it felt peaceful, like a proper retreat!
We absolutely loved our stay at Goddard Mead! The cottage had everything we needed and the walks right outside were stunning. The hosts were so friendly and made us feel really welcome. Would definitely return!
We had such a lovely time at Goddards Mead! The cottage was perfect in every aspect, really comfortable and cosy. Well definitely return, no doubt about it. Absolutely loved it!
We had such a lovely weekend stay here! Everything met our expectations and were already planning to come back. The pups were totally spoiled with the underfloor heating and had a blast in the garden. Luna even came home with a strained tail from all the wagging-guess she really enjoyed herself! Happy pups, happy us!
We had a fantastic time celebrating my wifes birthday here. Four days of pure relaxation and fun!
