Where's Marine Holiday Park?
Kimberley, Northampton
Date of stay: 29th October 2018
Not the best holiday weve had. I was glad we paid extra for the Captains Quaters lodge as this was the nicest thing on the site.
The site is well equipped but very small. We went swimming once with our 2 young children (a 4 year old and 7 month old) but the lifeguards were a bit OTT which put us on edge and we didnt feel like we could have fun. We wanted to go to the club but buggies werent allowed inside so we didnt bother, I dont understand how this can appeal to families if youre restricted with a baby in tow. The coffee in the cafe was awful, we didnt try any of the food as we spent most of the time off the site.
It was a great location to go off exploring, North Wales was absolutely stunning, just a shame the on site amenities werent bigger. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful, the guys checking our hot tub daily were brilliant chatting to our 4 year old.

Date of stay: 24th August 2018
As it was a late booking I was surprised we got such a nice caravan at such a reasonable price (for August and school holidays!).

Newish van, clean, nice furniture - not a very well equipped kitchen in terms of pans and utensils but that's expected and not that much of a problem.

Really good location and within easy walking distance of town and shops.

Date of stay: 24th August 2018
lovely lodge..hot tub too hot for us ! Lack of cooking utensils eg grill pan and oven proof dishes. Stock in site shop rather poor..Cafe menu too limited..ie curry or burgers..what about cottage pie or pasta?..Why shut cafe so early ..we could not get food after 4,45 and who wants fish and chips every night?{we had no choice at first as nothing in lodge to cook with !}..Having said that staff quickly supplied dishes but alas no grill pan

we had a great time, we only stayed in the bronze 2 a couple of nights as we upgraded to a gold but this was nothing to do with the caravan which was lovely. it was the distance to the facilities as i have mobility issues. once we moved near to everything it was great.

Date of stay: 2nd April 2018
The caravan definitely could have been cleaner and there were a few bits that could have done with repairs. unfortunately this is often the case with pet friendly caravans we have visited previously and this definitely wasn't the worst we've stayed in. It didn't seem to be cleaned properly, there was a lot of dog hair everywhere when we first arrived and I had to clean it myself. also, it rained a lot when we were there (which we were prepared for) but our caravan was on grass which meant that we were walking a lot of mud inside, where there was no doormat or a mop to clean it up which was a bit inconvenient. overall the caravan had everything we needed, it was warm enough, the shower was just adequate, and everything was pretty comfortable.
David, Southport

The lodge itself was very nice. Our only complaints would be that there was no toilet roll when we arrived and there were no oven-gloves in the kitchen. Other than that it was very nice, but it was overpriced in hindsight.

We did however have an incident on our last evening where it appeared someone else had used our hot tub after we had gone to bed. This was mentioned to staff on site.

Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
Caravan was brand new & very clean on arrival. We did ask for a broom or Hooveras we have a dog & were assured one would be left in the caravan but it did not appear. The bed was comfortable. It was quite cool of a morning & in the evening but the warm air fire & the central heating were more than adequate &I warmed up very quickly. We were lucky in that we had fabulous weather for our short break. We didn't need coats so kept them in the car. There were no coat hooks in the caravan & no where to hang wet towels either.

You could tell it was new. The panel by the lounge door was open, had to close. Also we didnt realise till the early evening that the fuse was missing thats linked to the boiler but could seen had been tested. We rang the emergency line. he was on his way to a job and said he would try and send maintenance round. I said that all we needed was a fuse so please pass on the message to maintenance

I wasnt sure on our house number which I said on the phone but said I thought it was 103 (we were 108 or something like that) rang back about half hour later saying that I may have said the wrong number. He said maintenance went around but got no answer and it was too late now to send the maintenace out now (around 20h00). He said that we would have to go without hot water that evening. All we needed was a fuse. We took the microwave one as the fuse is the same, meant we could have heating and hot water and reported in the morning.

Not an issue really but i think a bit more knowledge may have been useful. He sounded like it was his first busy duty.
Kathleen, Higham Ferrers
Date of stay: 25th September 2015
The caravan was clean and lived up to its description, I had only booked one of the economy vans as it was just myself and the dog for 4 nights, but I considered it good value for money..

Great caravan, it had everything we needed and was very clean. We were a family of 5 adults, 3 children and a baby and had no problems. The only downside for us was that the caravan was a good distance from the main facilities but for others wanting a quieter location then this could be an advantage.

Although the location of the park was not great and the night entertainment was not the best we have been to, we found this holiday really relaxing compared to busier parks we usually go to. We have 4 young children with us and they loved the swimming pool and the playground. We had a brilliant time thank you!

Date of stay: 6th September 2014
Had a lovely stay at marine park. Caravan was spotless when we arrived. Staff were very helpful and when I told them a bulb had gone in lounge area they came straight away and changed it. We didn't go in the bar but did sit in the outside area in the evening.

Will definitely be staying again

Only thing I wish was that there was some kind of outdoor seating like a picnic bench outside the caravan. Other than that was perfect

both site & caravan were clean & tidy. beds were made up for arrival. facilities were well maintained & staff were friendly & helpful. swimming pool & play area were clean and saw staff cleaning them on a daily basis.
Only downside was not being able to park next to the caravan, which meant several trips to & from the car park to load & unload our luggage.

The caravan park is on the outskirts of Rhyl and the surrounding area isn't the best, but the caravan park is clean and well kept. It is quite a big site and we were right at the back of the site which is loveley and quiet, but it is a good walk to the facilities building. The pool area is very nice, but the pool was a little cold, the arcade area is perfect for the kids as is the outdoor play area.
Robert, Ellesmere
Date of stay: 19th July 2014
delay to get signed in over an hour, had to ask for bed linen, my wife who uses crutches had problem with using the toilet but manage next time must make sure the caravan has better toilet facilities i.e.one in shower room could do with a new bed mattress staff were very helpful overall no problems, would gladly use this site
Tricia, West Lothian
Date of stay: 18th July 2014
Spent 4 nights at Marine Holiday Park and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was quiet (but that was probably because the English and Welsh kids were still at school) and set in a quiet location. Only downside is I thought it was closer to the beach but was located more in a residential area. The accommodation was lovely and great value for money. The entertainment and pool area was nice. Would return.

this was the first time we had been to a holiday caravan park and the marine caravan park in rhyl was brilliant.we loved it and will be back.could not fault our weeks holiday, the park and caravan was so well kept and spotless.brilliant.
Louise, Telford
Date of stay: 26th May 2014
We had a child aged 1 in our group,as I indicated on the booking form, but our caravan had an open fireplace with loose stones that was highly unsuitable for toddlers.
Claire, High Peak
Date of stay: 21st April 2014
Although the caravan and fixtures were all brand new, this was the only highlight of the weekend. The facilities for the size of the park were minimal and you had to queue well before the beginning of the entertainment start time to be able to guarantee a table and seat, 10 minutes later and you would have to stand all night. Entertainment on the one night we did get in was good (Cher tribute act). Facilities for kids was poor, consisted of three swings, two for toddlers and one for bigger kids and a climbing frame, that's it! For the money they make on beer, you need to invest in facilities.
Rebecca, Bolton
Date of stay: 18th April 2014
Had a lovely time, the caravan was lovely and clean. The staff where helpful and we found plenty to do. The kids enjoyed every minute of our stay. Our only gripe is that the park is only small but everything else was perfect

Fun Days Out near Marine Holiday Park

about 0 Miles

Out of all of the Go Ape! courses the one in Cheshire is the most spread out and it takes staff ten minutes to patrol the site on bike - which gives a good indication of the size of this place.  If you're looking for an adventurous and memorable day out then Go Ape is highly recommended.  Trek through the treetops, swing between the trees and enjoy zip wire rides all as part of your experience.  This attraction opens every day from the end of March to end October and is open on weekends in November.  Go Ape Cheshire is closed every Tuesday except school holidays.
