We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon put a lot of effort into converting this historic building and it really shows. They gave us a warm welcome, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The place has everything you need for a comfy break. The locations perfect too - exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages is a must to soak up the history and charm. Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful spot. The location is so private and scenic, perfect for relaxing. The owners were genuinely friendly and helpful, always nearby if we needed anything but respecting our privacy. The hot tub was a real treat after cycling all day. Just a heads-up, the cottage is right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but if you're sensitive to noise, its worth considering. Overall, a great getaway!

The place itself is beautifully kept - warm, spotless and full of character. The shower is really powerful and the cosy kitchen and living area made us feel right at home. Parking right next to the cottage was a real bonus. Perfect spot for walks and exploring Thaxteds beautiful, historic streets. Wed definitely come back!

We had a lovely stay at this cosy cottage, tucked away on a working farm but still very private. Robert and Sharon are such lovely hosts, making us feel right at home. The place is super spacious, with a well-equipped kitchen and bathroom and the bed was amazingly comfy. The garden is really peaceful, dog-proof and nicely furnished. There are plenty of walks nearby and we enjoyed exploring Thaxteds restaurants, especially The Star and The Maypole. Definitely recommend!

We spent a week here in July with our two mini dachshunds and honestly, it was lovely. The cottage itself is charming and really well-kept, plus the hot tub was such a treat-especially during that heatwave, it was cool enough to be really refreshing. The hosts were warm and friendly and it was nice to see them taking their dogs out to the fields every day. Being near Stansted on the flight path was actually quite fun to watch the planes come in. Overall, wed definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway!

Despite being near a flight path, we werent bothered at all-so dont let it put you off. Perfect spot for dogs who dislike fireworks, as it's tucked away in the middle of nowhere.
