Hawkchurch Resort And Spa

Described as a "blissful escape" we couldn't agree more! Hawkchurch Resort and Spa is indeed a delightful Haven nestled amongst trees and with amazing views over the Axe Valley.  You can really switch off and relax here especially with the help of the New Luxury Spa.  Or you might prefer to venture out and explore this gorgeous area of South Devon - there is so much to see and do here.

The lodges themselves are luxurious and opulent. The Premier Lodges such as the Quinn Premier and the Austen Premier come with private outdoor hot tubs.  The Quinn Premier is a fabulous retreat for couples with one double bedroom and a fresh modern interior, perfect for romantic breaks.  The Austen Premier sleeps up to 8 so would be a great choice for larger parties.

Dorset is full of attractions from theme parks to the fantastic Monkey World. Bovington Tank Museum and the sub tropical gardens at Abbotsbury are also great ideas for days out.  In the summer the beaches in the Dorset area are lovely too.  This area is blessed with outstanding views and opportunities for outdoor pursuits all year round.

We didn't stay in the Austen Premier. We were in a maple lodge. I had a call to say we had been upgraded but this didn't happen when I checked in. It was disappointing not to have the upgrade but we still had a nice time. This survey is on a maple lodge with no hot tub.

Date of stay: 18th May 2018
Slightly disappointed! For the first time in six visits, we've had cause for a slight quibble. On arrival, our lodge, along apparently with quite a few others, was not ready at the appointed time of 4pm. There seemed to be an air of panic to get the lodges ready and after 20/30 minutes, when our lodge became available it had clearly not had quite the amount of cleaning care that we usually find at Hawkchurch. The details were, in truth, relatively minor and perfectly acceptable in most establishments, but at Hawkchurch it always feels as if we are the first ever guests and so there is a small degree of disappointment when the site's extremely high standards are not met. In particular, there was a small amount of dust and a few dead insects on the carpet, along with smudges and a handprint on the glass doors and outside, there was an amount of bird mess on the patio furniture. None of this spoiled our visit, nor will it stop us returning as we are confidant that it was a complete 'one off'.
Arthur, Worthing

Date of stay: 28th April 2018
We have stayed at Hawkchurch on two occasions and have rebooked again for November! If you want a totally relaxing break to just sit and chill this is the place to be - we have had hot tub lodges which has made our stays extra special as the weather doesn't matter - you can keep warm in the hot tub. The food at the restaurant was exceptionally nice. The accommodation itself was lovely, again going for the premiere lodges gave us a little more luxury - on suit roll top bath, gown and slippers, all toiletries provided.
I personally can't fault anything - we choose slightly out of season dates and usually get a really good deal. We love it - we have very hectic jobs so we just sit , read and lounge in the hot tub. If you want action packed it's probably not for you - there is a gym and indoor hydrotherapy pool with sauna and steam room - all beautifully clean. We are counting down the days to return.

Date of stay: 7th April 2018
The lodges are great, comfortable, clean and very well kept! The prices are very steep for what is available on site, we booked our stay when it was on offer.
I would most definitely return if the price was right again purely for the lovely lodges, the local pub in Hawkchuch and the handiness of being able to get go so many beautiful place in reasonable traveling time.

We particularly liked the 2 spacious wardrobes and dressing table in the main bedroom and also the very large ensuite shower room, as well as a roomy well appointed main bathroom. Also there were useful hooks by the front door, which are always handy to keep wet coats out of the bedrooms/lounge.

Date of stay: 10th March 2018
As said above the lodge is brilliant. it is designed for 6 people but we are used to space so lovely with just us two. It has everything you could ever need. The main bedroom had a nice en suite which nice touch ( there is 2nd bedroon with en suite too).

It was also nice a quiet.

We prefer our TV at a lower level but that is a minor thing. The system is computer controlled and so has catch up.

We booked this lodge at the last minute as our planned cottage was inaccessable due to snow and it was a perfect for what we had in mind. Chill out. The price we paid was fantastic value for money and would recommend it to anyone who want a quiet time away. We will be looking at other resorts for future trips

Spacious. Kitchen was extremely well equipped. Good idea having 3 televisions. Liked the 24/7 heating and hot water. Beautiful curtains all round. Excellent parking. Very quiet park. Couldn't give 10/10 because we had 3 maintenance problems, two of which were resolved immediately. We reported taht there was no hot water from bath taps but this was not put right.
Alexander, Southampton

Had a great time, sadly had to leave a day early through fear of becoming snowbound due to the 'Beast from the East' & what ever they dubbed the other one coming up from the South, but glad we did, as later that day many of the roads home became blocked !

Tiny things stop it being a 10 across the board - it would have been good to have had bin bags that fitted the bins, a set of cooking tongs would have been handy, complementary toiletries in all the bathrooms - small things but because everything else was so good, we did notice.

Date of stay: 19th February 2018
Let down by the complete lack of communication from management with the problems we had. So disappointed in the end.
Kerry, Bournemouth
Date of stay: 19th February 2018
We were generally pleased with our stay although upon arrival, the oven did not work properly so our evening was disturbed whilst the oven was replaced.
The washing machine also locked for some time, with our dogs lead inside which was quite annoying but resolvable.
On our final day, we had planned to go to the restaurant for a roast dinner but we had to forego this as the restaurant had no gas and no means of cooking it. we were disappointed and had to instead drive and collect a takeaway, as we had no other food at the lodge.
we would still return but want to make you aware of a few niggles.
Lisa

What a fabulous resort, great welcome, complete with a glass of Prosseco, our lodge was superb, spotlessly clean, loads of space. The onsite spa was a surprise bonus, not very big, but it was quiet when we stayed so was fine. Wish I could have made use of the treatments but were fully booked, book in advance!
All of the staff we encountered were friendly, always happy to chat. The restaurant was lovely, food was great, not bad prices either.
The location is ideal for exploring the surrounding areas.
We had a great stay, will definitely be back!

Fantastic accommodation and surprisingly spacious with two en suite double bedrooms and a twin. The open plan living area offered comfortable seating and fully fitted kitchen with plenty of storage. Date of stay: 22nd January 2018
This was our fourth time at Hawkchurch Resort and Spa. I still think that this is a fantastic resort. We had a three bedroom Colleridge Lodge with hot tub which was amazing. We shared our lodge with some friends and had the addition of the hot tub as it was my fiftieth. I was a little disappointed this time as we arrived at twelve however we couldn't get into our lodge until two whereas on pasts visits they allowed us in early. However I do appreciate that two o'clock was still early as we weren't really allowed in until four and it is good that they clean the lodges thoroughly. My daughter and I both had a treament in the spa which was a nice treat however I only booked a treatment that was on offer as I found them expensive. Nice touch in the lodge was that the staff had left a card and balloons for my birthday though.

Date of stay: 14th January 2018
This was our second visit. Great place to stay, especially for couples and would come again. Only a few small niggles, but understand that you can't get everything 100%, 100% of the time. Small niggles were: some used dirty cups in cupboard; dried food (spaghetti) stuck on sofa and general stains; shower a little grubby around edge trims; restaurant didn't open wine bottle or pour it (just put bottle unopened bottle on the table); sauna, steam room and pool water features not always working. All-in-all a lovely place to stay, just a little more attention to detail needed in places.
Jacqueline, Bristol

Date of stay: 30th December 2017
The lodge was amazing, very high standard indeed. All mod-cons and everything you need and expect from a luxury holiday in the UK. The only thing was cleanliness that let it down a little. Spiders webs, the crockery and cutlery was questionable so we washed it all before started using it.
Overall we were extremely pleased with the lodge and the park and the service we received. We will be going back I am sure.

Date of stay: 3rd November 2017
The lodge was lovely, clean and high spec, with everything we needed. The hot tub was the highlight - so relaxing and warm and fairly private. We were in lodge 66, and the only negatives were a missing mirror in one of the double bedrooms, leaving behind a big bit of wood with holes, also one of the bedrooms looks out onto next door's parking spot whereas the other bedrooms had a lovely view.
We could have done with a mop. Also there were no games included. We thought this lodge was great value for money out of season.

Date of stay: 9th September 2017
A lovely lodge, comfortable beds although bedding could be too heavy if the weather was warm at night, not a problem during our visit. Showers were clean but not spotless, everything else very clean.Kitchen equipment was adequate for a weeks break.
Our lodge took dogs but as the weather was bad, we were constantly worried about the pale carpets and the lack of facilities to wash the dogs off before we came back to the lodge, hensce we had towels everywhere!

Date of stay: 26th August 2017
We loved the lodge. It had everything we needed and was very modern and clean. The board games were a nice touch. Our lodge had lovely views into the distant valley and due to low light pollution the stars were amazing. Beds were comfy, shower and bath options were good. We cooked most days in the lodge and found everything we needed. Next time I would take along some plastic plates and cups for the children as I was always worrying they would smash them. Overall we really enjoyed staying in the lodge and will definitely visit again.

Hannah, Aylesbury
Date of stay: 14th August 2017
Lodge was beautiful and we were lucky enough to be very near the main complex however, we did not feel it was cleaned to a high standard. It is obviously a lodge where pets are allowed as the sofa and pillows were covered in white hairs! There were also hairs in the bath and shower! Even when I picked the 2 towels off the bed, hairs fell out of them. We did not feel like we wanted to make a complaint as we just wanted to make the most of our weekend.

We think these lodges are also in need of a deep clean as if you look down the side of furniture it is disgusting!! I especially noticed this next to the fridge in the kitchen.
Andrew

We were really impressed with the accommodation. It was luxurious and comfortable. We had everything we needed and more. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. We all had a good nights sleep. The cupboards were fully stocked with crockery, glasses, utensils, pots/pans. I was pleasantly surprised, it was just like being at home! I did manage to cook a few meals there which was great and the rest of the time we ate out.

Date of stay: 29th July 2017
A good sized lodge, very well equiped with a decent cooker, oven, good sized fridge freezer, plenty of plates, cups, mugs, glasses etc. The lodge even had a wine cooler. The beds were comfortable and the en-suite shower room was great. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and shower over the bath. We had a nice view, but looking around I would say that some of the lodges views were quite restrictive, the lodge behind us looked directly into our main bedroom. On the few good days we had it was nice to sit out on the decking for breakfast and coffee. Its fully double glazed with central heating. We got a nice welcome pack including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk, dish washer tablets x2, washing up liquid (very small bottle), tea towel, dish cloth. The beds were made up on arrival and there were plenty of towels for everyone.

Date of stay: 16th July 2017
These lodges are superb with everything you could possibly need and our position was second to none. The only reason I have given a9 overall was that having visited a year ago the lodge had a few niggles and slight deterioration. It is a shame that maybe some guests don't always treat the lodges as they would their own homes. Have to say though staff dealt with any complaint swiftly and with a smile
Mark, Ashford, Kent
Date of stay: 15th July 2017
Nice lodge, all facilities we needed. We would have loved DVD player to be available. Squeaky floor was annoying but the lodge was beautiful and we felt very lucky and spoilt.

Date of stay: 15th July 2017
This was my first lodge experience and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and facilities. We could not have asked for anything else. Everything we needed was provided. The beds were comfy, all the rooms were spacious and the kitchen was well equipped. I would not hesitate to stay again. I only knocked off one mark for cleanliness because the living room window had smeary marks on it, but as we were in a pet friendly lodge, I expect this was because a little nose from the previous furry inhabitant had been pressing against the window and this had probably been missed, but apart from that, the place was spotless.
Thomas, Whitby

Date of stay: 24th June 2017
Marple Lodge was great, the only tiny things that stop me from giving 10's on all points are - crumbs on floor in living area when we arrived
low backed sofa's are not really comfortable
please take care of the drainage in the shower outlet - any worse and it won't drain away
please watch the 'pink' mould starting to form at the base of the shower unit.

I only mention this so the beautiful lodge stays that way.
Jacqueline
Date of stay: 24th June 2017
Two of us had a four night break in a sleeps six lodge so we had plenty of room. The lodge had all you could need for a self-catering break lncluding a wine cooler and the two en-suite rooms were great. Nice big fluffy towels too. It was warm enough to use the outside seating area which was very spacious.
Tv in all the bedrooms with plenty of channels to watch and the wi-fi was fine for what we needed. Plenty of parking .

Date of stay: 17th June 2017
A few minor things that would be helpful in the lodge to make perfect. A shelf or a hook in the shower to put items on. A tray for taking things out on to the terrace etc. Also a bread bin. Our lodge was quite shaded due to being next to trees etc. So would say lodge in centre or bottom of the park more likely to getting the evening sunshine which would have preferred to the morning sun that we got.
Maria, London

Spa facilities were top notch and made to feel very relaxed by Beauty staff.
Very relaxing break even though it rained most of the week. Plenty of local walks to enjoy.
Just one thing missing and that was a Dog Field. A safe place to let dogs off the lead would make the place perfect.

Loved the lodge. Ideal for my elderly parents. No drawers in the twin room to store clothes otherwise a 10 all the way.
Only 1 negative comment. I had a steak meal in the restaurant which was fab except for the chips - the worst I have ever had anywhere. All crispy and no fluffy potato centre, very greasy and had to be picked up to eat as the fork would not go through them. Did not complain as I dont need to be eating chips. The other 2 meals were excellent and enjoyed by my parents (Lamb and fish of the day).
All power to the young lady from the gym who stood in for the waiting staff who had not arrived. She ran backwards and forwards to the kitchen to ask the chef questions to ensure that we got what we wanted. Sorry we do not remember her name but we arrived in the restaurant just after 12pm and I think it was on the wednesday of our stay. Well done her! We would have given her the tip but the regulars arrived abt mid way through the meal.

This was a great first time experience in a Lodge - the hot tub was fantastic and it was cleaned twice daily. Restaurant was good and all staff very helpful. Not sure the cleaning in the bathrooms were as good as they could be.

This was the second stay for me and my boyfriend. Absolutely lush lodges, so modern and spacious. The beds are so comfy and the bedding is very soft. The only negative was our decking was covered with trees so there was no sunshine coming onto it for us to sit out in it.

We had a lovely time at Hawkchurch. The lodge was fantastic, very comfortable and spacious and dog friendly too! The only downside was that the dog was not allowed in the bar/restaurant area. It would be nice if just a small section was made available so that your dog can join you for dinner! As a result we did not use the bar or restaurant.

Date of stay: 3rd May 2017
Wonderful relaxing stay. Had Lodge 1 which had a lovely view of the countryside. Lodge was warm and comfortable, kitchen perfect for self catering and dishwasher to have a break from the washing up.

TV froze quite a bit in the main living space and then turned itself off - annoying but not the end of the world. The lodge had it's own board games which were handy for those times!

Had the odd problem with the lodge - tv in bedroom not working, dishwasher blocked - but all were taken note of and immediately repaired. Staff couldn't have been more efficient or welcoming.

The problems were only small and didn't ruin the stay at all - the lodge was very clean and tidy. The spa on sight was fantastic for the rainy day we had. Again, a few things in the spa stopped working, and my bag got stuck in the locker, but again it also didn't ruin anything, my bag was quickly freed and was still a lovely stay.

We both had massages, the therapists were absolutely lovely and did a wonderful job. Lodge 1 was right next to the restaurant and spa so a nice short walk to the facilities.

We ate in the restaurant at lunch on a Sunday, so do not know how busy it got tint he evenings, but we had the pesto linguine which was delicious!

We came for a nice relaxing break, and we got it. The site was very peaceful - even for a busy bank holiday weekend, it was not loud at all. We even had the spa to ourselves a couple times!

Highly recommend. Area is close to a Tesco for food shopping, and close to Lime Regis, as well as the golden gap and sea town and West Bay. Plenty of sightseeing available near by - was perfect. Luckily we had the sun on our side.

Absolutely great place to stay. If you stay out of season (out of school holidays ) like we did you can get a great deal! The cabin was amazing, better than the pictures show ! Only issue we had was the TVs kept crashing, so we had to keep turning them off at the mains. But if that was the only thing wrong you can tell this was a great place to stay !

Loved the lodge for our annual sibling get together and great it was all on one level as some have walking difficulties (all pensioners) which made it easier. Lovely & clean, good quality bedding and beds all extremely comfortable. Could have done with some drawers in the bedrooms and some tongs in the kitchen but just a minor niggle.

Venetian blinds in bedrooms would allow privacy and more light

I would love to not recommend this lodge just so we can keep it for ourselves. But the truth is this was the best lodge we have stayed in. Exceptionally spacious for a lodge that caters to just two people, plenty of creature comforts like the roll top bath and wine chiller, as well as the hot tub. Would highly recommend.

great for 3 couples, but we did have a very squeaky floor in one of the rooms. Also perhaps could have done with a few home comforts, re clock, music system DVD player.
T.harris, Keynsham
Date of stay: 17th April 2017
We loved it ,
but one suggestion would be to have more non slip matting available in the en suite shower and toilet area.

The window blinds in the twin room need to be changed,it 's disconcerting to have them drawn in daylight, but there is little option if privacy is needed

We bought our holiday during a sale so had it at a great low price. The lodge we stayed in (Quinn Lodge) was big, clean, modern and very comfortable. It has everything that we needed including washer/dryer, dishwasher and a wine cooler :)

The Hydrotherapy pool was very nice and relaxing, i am a non swimmer and not very comfortable with water but found this very relaxing and used it every day.

The whole park was very fresh and clean, staff very polite and we had a meal in the Beeches restaurant on the Wednesday evening - for the 2 steak meals offer - delicious and very good value.

I would definitely stay here again.

We were really impressed with the size of the lodges for two people - we had so much room to relax. The walk-in dressing room and ensuite bathroom with separate double shower was wonderful. I stayed in the Quinn Premier lodge and it was absolutely perfect. The lodge itself was in pristine condition, the kitchen has brilliant facilities such as a dishwasher, washing machine, large cooker and pretty much everything you could need. The bathrooms are lovely, loved the large bath and shower. Bed was extremely comfortable and the living room was very cozy with the log burner style fireplace and furniture/fittings throughout were stylish and high spec. The hottub was maintained daily and was lovely too. We will certainly be visiting again and recommend it as it exceeded our expectations in all areas - we didn't want to leave!

The lodge is truly lovely, although as it is at the end of the season, it is looking a little tired.
- Paintwork needs touching up, crayon marks on the wall
- coming off the wall in kitchen window
- Windows badly need cleaning
- Water stains on paintwork in bathroom
- Shower grouting showing stains near the floor
We would and will be booking to return to the site
Sharon, Redditch
Date of stay: 24th September 2016
The lodges on the resort were new in 2015 and were still very well presented. Tastefully decorated, comfortable, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully equipped. Particularly liked the chiller for wine and cold drinks in the kitchen.
My only niggle is that the wi-if connectivity and speed was really poor, to non existent at times.
Christine, Llandrindod Wells
Date of stay: 23rd September 2016
The lodge was excellent - no complaints. The broadband was best described as slow, but it was OK, they did warn us, so it was not a surprise. We did not use any of the facilities, but we were shown around, and they can best be described as excellent. The TV did freeze from time to time as other posters had stated. Overall, this is an excellent lodge and we would have no hesitation in returning.

Lovely new lodge , best hot tub we have had. Even though it was a large site ( 100 ) lodges it was lovely and peaceful and not over looked. The only downside being we could not park beside the lodge, the parking bay wasn't too far away . We were lucky with the weather but if it was pouring with rain it might have been a different matter.

During our Stay We had a Problem with the Main T.V Constantly Turning itself on to Standby every Ten Minutes. The Lodge was Dirty upon arrival Crumbs left on work surfaces and on Floors and Carpets. Skylights were covered in Cobwebs and Panoramic Windows were dirty with Bird Droppings and hand marks from previous guests (we reported this on our departure to reception)

We booked last minute and had a great deal. Our Lodge was lovely just a shame we couldnt get one with a hot tub, it would have been the icing on the cake. Will certainly look at other locations with a pool for the younger ones, but would also return to Hawkchurch.

Date of stay: 8th August 2016
Overall a very nice stay, the lodges are new, light, lots of space and a really nice area inside to relax. Good kitchen facilities and the bedrooms were a really nice size. Bathrooms were nice size and the scenery around was really nice. Facilities were really nice, swimming and sauna were good, steam room was not working. Downside to the stay was that there was not a dedicated person to check you into the pool so you had to keep asking restaurant or bar staff to sign you in. I began to get the impression that they were getting a little tired of doing this as well as their normal job. Also I kept getting told that there were no towels and so I couldn't go into the pool which was not really on. Overall though a nice stay.

Date of stay: 8th August 2016
Obviously a recent construction but we were impressed by the thoroughness of the cleaning staff given that it was cleaned and then checked by the supervisor before we could take the keys. We had no complaints about the cabin other than having some instructions available on the operation of the oven and, being really petty, a set of oven tongs would have been handy. Overall very comfortable indeed.

Date of stay: 22nd July 2016
Really loved the cottage. I would just say that although we had number 74 we were not to overlooked we could see others that were, i feel that with the hot tub the cottages need more privacy, also as the cottages are a bit close and we felt we could not really use the hot tub under the stars because it was so close to other peoples bedrooms, where small children were asleep. we had extremely warm nights and windows were open. not ideal. but don't let it put you off , it is a good location and site. Didn't use the pool so can't comment. price well we had special offer, not sure these cottages through out are a little over priced .
Staff were lovely.

Date of stay: 18th July 2016
The lodge was spotlessly clean with everything you needed. Having said that, there were no manuals for any of the electrical appliances. Also there was absolutely no leaflets regarding the area or nearest doctors etc. in the lodge. Stayed previously at several of Darwin lodges elsewhere where all these 'minor' things were in place within a folder.

Fantastic lodge - we have stayed in many lodges in many places but the Coleridge lodge was the most luxury we have had - there were odd issues with a loose toilet seat and a light switch not working but there were 2 other bathrooms to choose from!

Very nice lodge. Only thing which let it down was the stupid way in which the televisions were connected to some sort of meshed network. It didn't work all the time. - the system sometimes crashed. Why can't we just have a normal ariel televelsion?

The Quinn Lodge is really well equipped a real home from home. The lodge benefits from a fabulous bedroom suite which has an open plan bathroom, lovely walk in shower, claw foot bath and a dressing room as well as a Super King-size bed which provides a great nights sleep. The lounge/kitchen is open plan with a breakfast bar area and has everything you need, dishwasher, washing machine and even a wine cooler. The decking area is lovely with some very comfortable Rattan furniture and is very safe for pets as it's secure. There is a welcome pack in the lodge with tea, coffee etc which is perfect for your arrival. Both the lounge and bedroom benefit from large TV's. Considering this was a one bedroom lodge it was extremely spacious throughout and we did really love it.

Slight issues: The gas hob would not stay lit, we did report this and a maintenance person was sent straight away and did sort the issue out. But the day after the problem started again and if we had been staying longer we would have liked this sorted which I am sure they would have done. Also the lights on the decked terrace didn't work which we did report on our last day. The lodge could have been cleaned a little better especially the 2nd W.C and the floor to ceiling window/patio doors which had several marks on them. The park does have security gates for vehicles but there is a gate that anyone can walk through from the restaurant area into the main park. If you have a lodge close to the bar area the music that's played outside, starting from mid morning until the evening can be quite annoying if you are looking for some piece and quiet. The kitchen would benefit from cooking tongs if possible.

One of the best lodges we have stayed in. Very clean, roomy and beautifully decorated. My only criticism would be that the tv reception in the bedroom was very poor and there was no games console in the living room like other similar lodges we have stayed in. Would definitely stay here again!

Date of stay: 20th May 2016
We stayed at Hawkchurch at the beginning of May. We were originally heading to Cornwall for the week but due to ill health Darwin Escapes very kindly managed to shift the stay slot closer to home. The lodges were fantastic almost brand new they were spotless, very comfortable, had everything you would expect. The hot tub was lovely, the facilities on site are fantastic for adults. It is not really child orientated having said that we took our 7 month old to which the resort and restaurant staff were very accommodating. It was. Quiet and peaceful and the spa is as tranquil as it looks!! Would rate it 5 and will definitely be booking again!!

Date of stay: 13th May 2016
Marple Lodge is a stunning new lodge full of first class quality fixtures & fittings and where cleanliness is a paramount feature. Simply beautiful, the lodge is fully able to provide you with all elements of a quality stay. Being practically new the only small problem we encountered was the shower in the twin room en suite - we could not control the heat of the water and had we used it we may have got scalded. Reported this to the receptionist who assured us that it would be looked into. ( I am sure this is only a 'teething problem' as such of this delightful lodge). Marple Lodge is without doubt one of the best lodges we have stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few.

Date of stay: 29th April 2016
This lodge would have had a perfect score but the position of the lodge in the park was awful, we were over looked on every side we even had the chef for the complex living next door, as this was a couples lodge it would have been better if it at the bottom of the complex, because of this the blinds had to be drawn all day as we felt very conscious that everyone could look in even if they were just walking past, other lodges we've been to have had privacy glass all around the decking and hot tub but this lodge only had half way so we were visible to other when in the hot tub. The lighting in the lodge was very bright in the bedroom area but in the living area extremely dark just to eat dinner we had to put all the lights on and the blinds up so we could be seen by everyone once again.

The VFM score was for at the time of our stay.
I'm saddened at the way the prices you offer are increased specifically around school holiday periods. This makes it increasingly difficult for parents who might be educators and in my opinion is completely unfair.

Lovely place to stay. Clean.
Only a few things that would help:

Had a fantastic stay with friends in Hawkchurch. We stayed the week before Easter so it was very quiet which was great as we didn't annoy anyone staying in the hot tub until 3am!! The accommodation was pretty much brand new and the attention to detail in their design really added to a most comfortable few days. If only more parks put this much effort into customer care!

Date of stay: 21st March 2016
Lovely, modern, spacious lodge with great view of the valley below. Plenty of room for a large family. 3 Bathrooms were a bonus and TV's in all bedrooms. Nice to be able to sit together for meals. Lovely towels and duvets. There are only wardrobes in rooms, no cupboards or drawers which seemed a little strange, Would have given a 9 overall but the lodge although generally clean was quite dusty especially in the kitchen and some of the crockery was greasy. Don't know if lodge had been used recently. This aside - would definitely stay again if we visited this area.

Brand new unit, everything inside was brand new - felt very luxurious. Such a treat to get a unit with 2 double en-suites, 1 twin and all 3 bedrooms with TV. Shower in the en-suites and another in the bathroom - great for when all getting ready to go out at the same time. Loads of storage space, all wardrobes equipped with hangars. Towels and bathrobes provided. Hot tub an added bonus. All mod cons in the kitchen area. Unit decorated neat, smart and modern.

The lodge was fantastic and the hot tub excellent, the only downside (and I know it can't be helped!) was there was an awful lot of flies in the lodge, some dead on the floors when we arrived. Everything else was fab
Jacqueline
Our third stay at this resort. Lodges are modern, clean and well equipped. Grounds are well maintained. Relaxing environment.
David
Our second stay - a great place to chill Another fab stay at Hawkchurch! We arrived a Monday and were given our keys for the Quinn lodge - luxurious, spacious and with all the mod cons including massive bed, double shower, roll top bath, 2 toilets, dishwasher, washer/dryer, wine fridge, 2 massive TVs and a decking area. The hydrotherapy pool was very relaxing and pretty quiet so could easily chill out. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Can't wait for the next visit. P.s. Remembered to take our free rubber duck this time!
Heather
A lovely clean, very spacious lodge, and the park was in a nice setting. It was great that I could take my dog into the reception and bar area, the food was great too!

Third time here this year, bit disappointed with the lodge this time as sofa very stained but not a massive issue, just turned the cushions over.
