Doublebois Lodge Escape

Cleaning there was cobwebs on the wardrobe runners, dust around door handles and locks. The decking furniture hadn't been cleaned as it took me 2 good attempts to get the dust and muck off. Missing finishing touches Floor board are terrible for creaking and loosening. As soon as 1 person was up the whole lodge was and the patio door very loud also

Super lodge. It is slightly older than other lodges on the site, but it was finished really nicely, and is super comfortable, so we have no concerns at all in staying in this again.

The lodge was perfect, well equipped kitchen, clean, tidy and very spacious.

Everything perfect

Lovely spacious clean lodge and facilities. On occasions we had trouble with locking the patio door but we believe that was due to the hot weather. Decking got very hot.

Brilliant lodge was lovely and clean and had everything you needed. Hot tub was checked daily and was clean

Very spacious, a little dated. Litchen well equipped. Lovely decking area . Only grumble was the bed mattress very soft.

5 stars holiday

A spacious lodge .with everything you need .

The lodge was fantastic just one thing I would say is it could of benefitted with an extra shower room instead of dressing area.

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead! Rob and Sharon put so much effort into converting this historic place and it really shows - its got a warm, welcoming vibe. Bonnie was adorable too! The locations perfect for exploring Essex - we spent ages wandering around Thaxted and other nearby villages. Its a great spot for a relaxing break and wed definitely recommend it if youre into discovering charming old towns and their stories. Definitely a place to visit!

Really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect for peace and quiet, away from busy areas. The hot tub was a lovely bonus. Owners were so helpful without being intrusive. Theyve got it just right!

Nicely situated lodge, not immediately overlooked. Comfortable, with lovely beds. Sofas offered no support but clean and functional. Well equipped kitchen. Nice bathroom and shower room. Parking close to lodge was a bonus.

Absolutely loved our stay! The owners really went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Highly recommend to friends!

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful spot. Sharon and Robert really go the extra mile to make sure everythings just right. It was our second visit and definitely wont be our last. Highly recommend!

Lodge was great but blonds broke and could do with a deep clean, but thats just me trying to think of negatives as it was very well maintaimed accomodation.

Such a relaxing spot, loved the Jacuzzi-can't wait to return!

The cottage is really lovely and perfect for a peaceful getaway. Just a heads up, planes fly overhead at night since its close to Stanstead. The hot tubs a real treat!

We stayed at Goddard's Mead and were genuinely impressed. The owners, Rob & Sharon, have done a lovely job converting the historic building with care and respect. They greeted us warmly, along with Bonnie, which made us feel right at home. The location is perfect for exploring Essex-definitely take a bit of time to wander around Thaxted and the nearby villages; the history and architecture are quite fascinating. Its a really relaxing spot for sure!

We absolutely loved this place! The house was pristine, super comfy and had everything we needed, especially the hot tub. Fantastic getaway, will definitely return!

We had a fantastic stay! The house was really well kitted out and super cosy, perfect for the rainy December weather. The bath was a real treat and the shower was great too. Being on a flight path didnt bother us at all, honestly! Ideal spot for dogs scared of fireworks since its so remote. Gorgeous place, nicely converted - well be back for sure! Thanks a lot!

Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was super peaceful and perfect for our dog too.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The peaceful countryside setting was just what we needed. The courtyard was lovely and the hot-tub definitely made it feel extra special. Perfect for relaxing walks too!

We had such a lovely stay! The cottage was spotless and had everything we needed. The closest dog walks are perfect for our little terrier. The host was super friendly and quick to reply, which made everything so smooth. We loved meeting the farm animals, especially Penelope the pig. Can't wait to return - great value all round!

We had an amazing stay at the cottage! The location was perfect-so peaceful and calming. The farm setting was stunning and we loved seeing the horses. The owners were genuinely friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a place we'd recommend for a quiet getaway. Loved it!

We had such a lovely weekend stay here! The place ticked all our boxes and we felt right at home. Our dogs especially adored the underfloor heating and the garden - Luna was wagging her tail non-stop! She even strained it, but the vet says its from all the excitement. Well definitely come back, it was a great break!

We had a lovely stay and really appreciated how welcoming Sharon and Robert were. The place had everything we needed - super clean, comfy and secure for our dog Archie, which was a big plus. The location was spot on, with loads of walks nearby and charming villages like Thaxted to explore. Honestly, we left feeling refreshed and relaxed - it was just what we needed for a proper break!
