We just got back from a four-night stay at this charming cottage and honestly, we had a wonderful time. The owners are really friendly but not at all intrusive, which was perfect. Our dog loved the big fenced garden and the place had everything we needed - even a BBQ for those relaxed evenings. The hot tub was a real highlight! Were already planning to come back and have told our friends how great it was. Thanks for a lovely break!

We had a really lovely time staying at this cosy cottage on a working farm, but its actually quite private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are super friendly and welcoming. The place itself is huge and well-equipped, especially the kitchen and bathroom, which made everything so easy. The bed was incredibly comfy after long walks around the area. The garden is perfect for dogs-completely secluded and nicely furnished. Plus, Thaxteds got some great places to eat, like The Star and The Maypole. Wed definitely recommend it!

We really enjoyed our stay at this quirky little spot. The furniture inside the carriages was lovely and the beds were super comfy. The bathroom and shower were a decent size, which was a bonus. The kitchen had everything you could need and the underfloor heating was a nice touch. The welcome pack with bread, cheese and wine was a lovely surprise. Wed definitely come back, though its a bit pricey for what you get.

The owners really went above and beyond when the storm knocked out the power, which was much appreciated. The place was spotless, warm and well-stocked. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and we enjoyed the hot tub too!

We had a lovely stay! Sharon and Robert really made us feel at home, which was great. The place was spotlessly clean, comfy and perfect for our dog Archie - he loved it! The location was ideal; loads of nice walks nearby and Thaxted with its pretty streets was a treat to explore. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed. All in all, a fantastic break!

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage. The place is super well looked after and fully equipped, making it feel like a home away from home. The walks right outside were perfect for our doggos and we loved chatting with the friendly host. Meeting Penelope the pig was a real highlight! Well definitely return, great value for money. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic weekend here! The place was just what we needed, comfy and relaxing. Our dogs couldn't get enough of the garden and they especially loved the underfloor heating. Luna was wagging her tail so much she hurt it, but she was obviously having a great time. We'll definitely be coming back soon. Highly recommended!

We just got back from a really nice four-night stay at this cottage. The owners were super friendly but never intrusive, which was perfect. The big fenced garden was great for our dog to run around freely. The place had everything we needed - it was fully equipped. We even enjoyed a BBQ one evening and the hot tub was fantastic! Were already telling friends about it and would definitely come back. Thanks for a lovely break!

We stayed at this charming little spot and loved how tucked away it was, offering real privacy. The owners were super friendly and always there if we needed anything, but we still felt completely secluded. The hot tub was a great way to unwind after cycling all day. Only thing to mention is the noise from planes overhead, since its right under the flight path. It took a couple of hours to get used to, but honestly, it didnt ruin our stay. Wed definitely come back!

We had a really nice stay here, its a charming spot if you're after something a bit unique. The carriage area is spotless and well looked after. Josh, the caretaker, was super friendly and helpful. Only thing missing was a light above the mirror in the double bedroom, but otherwise, great!
Emma, Ndevon
Date of stay: 5th January 2025
We really enjoyed our stay here, plenty to see and do nearby. The train station is just a couple of minutes walk, which was super convenient. The carriage has been beautifully converted and had all the facilities we needed. The only downside was the bathrooms, which unfortunately had a strong, unpleasant smell. We tried everything-air fresheners, opening windows-but it didnt help much. Still, it didnt ruin our trip, just wish they could sort that out. Would stay again!

Date of stay: 12th November 2024
We stayed here for a week in July with our two little dachshunds and honestly, it was a lovely experience. The cottage itself is charming and well-kept and the hot tub was such a treat-especially during the hot weather, as it was cooled down just right. The hosts were genuinely warm and welcoming, which made us feel at home. Watching the planes land near Stansted was quite interesting too, even if its on the flight path. Overall, wed definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway with furry friends!

We had an amazing time! The place was super clean and comfy and the location is just beautiful. The only thing is, the train nearby can be a bit noisy, but it didn't bother us too much.

Date of stay: 21st September 2024
The refurbished coaches look really sleek and modern, but still have that vintage charm.
Jamie, Grays
Date of stay: 19th September 2024
We stayed at this spot near Dawlish Warren and honestly, its pretty handy if you want to be close to the beach. The train noise is noticeable since it runs nearby, but that was clear from the description, so no surprises there. The place itself is comfy and quite spacious-perfect as a base for exploring Devon. Parking is sorted with your own space, which is a bonus. Just a heads up, the seven steps to get in can be a bit slippery if its wet outside. Overall, its a decent choice, though the train sounds can be a bit disruptive until late at night and early mornings.

Date of stay: 28th August 2024
The cottage was really charming and perfect for our stay, tucked away nicely from busy areas. The hot tub was a real treat and the owners were lovely without being overbearing. They've got it just right!

We just got back from a lovely week at Goddards Mead. The cottage had everything we needed and felt super cosy. The hosts were really friendly and welcoming. Even though its on a working farm, its surprisingly peaceful-a proper little escape! We loved it.
