We cannot give a bad report about the lodge

Peaceful setting, small site, no facilities apart from small shop and wooden play area. Lodge was well equipped, clean and very warm but couldn't get rid of the extremely unpleasant smell of dogs.

We booked the Chestnut 2 Lodge with the jacuzzi and when we arrived we were greated by Shirley at Reception, who is lovely. The Lodge was very private and beautiful both inside and out, it had everything you need and was very comfortable. We were lucky to have the sun so sitting outside on the terrace was lovely, we went in the jacuzzi a couple of times a day and it was so relaxing, also having the side panels around gives you that extra privacy. Also having milk, orange juice, tea, coffee, bread, jams and biscuits was a lovely touch when entering the Lodge. The Park itself didn't have much, but we knew that and just wanted a base to relax. We did walk to Brough for a nice cuppa at the Cafe.Yes I read previous reviews about the traffic noise, but it wasn't that bad. Yes you could hear it but after our first day we got used to it outside on the patio, but in the jacuzzi with the bubbles you couldnt hear it. When we were inside you couldn't hear it.It's a lovely break and we will be back, as its just so peaceful.

It was lovely nice and quiet with lots of wild life to see. We stayed in the beeches it was nice and clean everything we needed and more like the bread, milk, orange juice, eggs and tea coffee to get you stared when you arrive and have not been shopping yet. Staff are lovely and helpful. We are definitely going to go again as the dog really enjoyed himself and the hot tub was lovely.

Lovely lodge. It's a lot bigger than the pictures make it which was a nice suprise. Comfy beds and plenty of space. Bathrooms clean and good quality. Lounge space nicely spread out and kitchen has lots of utilities. Doors are a bit creaky and taps are so loud. Would wake up people in the night when used. Flies around. But worst problem is the WiFi. It's Terrible. We only watch things by streaming so we barely got any TV access and internet was poor. There's only one internet for the whole park not individual lodges and it drops out all the time.

Had a lovely break here during early-mid July, during the last heatwave.Site is really easy to access and set in some lovely surroundings.Work is being done on site so we did have work traffic passing by the accommodation most of the day time (excluding Sunday) but it didn't overly impact the holiday.I would definitely visit again though it seems that it won't be possible to stay in the same accommodation as it's being retired from the site - this possibly explains why some of the fittings were a little careworn but still providing a comfortable stay.

A very nice lodge. Comfortable and clean. There were towels for the hot tub and the welcome pack was much appreciated, containing fresh bread, milk, orange juice and eggs. We went expecting some road noise but it was quite noisy when sitting outside. It was not really noticeable when inside. For us the lodges are too close together and there are caravans and lodges above you and below you. The hot tub screens are a good addition.

We stayed in the Chestnut No 1 lodge. It is a new facility with a hot tub.The lodge was very clean and well equipped. Good heating if required. The only issue was that the television in the main bedroom did not work at all which was very disappointing and took the edge off the break re relaxation. Also the large television in the lounge was a smart TV which often froze due to poor signal. The on site staff are very friendly and helpful and stated they were trying to address the signal issues. Not a great issue but knocks the edge off your early morning and late evening viewing. The kitchen is well equipped and good size fridge and freezer and wine cooler. If going west from the site it's better to take the back road to Brough, turn left at the clock and it avoids you crossing the A66 which you can join just under the bridge.Handy for the Lakes and Dales.20 mins to Penrith, 1 hour to Keswick or Windermere to the Dales and Hawes

A great location and a really nice lodge. Also, a nice quiet site although could do with a little shop on site for essentials. Only negative we found- some of the crockery and cutlery was dirty- obviously due to previous guests but I feel the cleaners should check this between guests. We had to clean it all prior to using anything. Other than that; it was all great.

The location is beyond 5-star, and the friendly welcome second to none.An excellent base to explore the Eden Valley and the North Pennines. Not many shopping / eating facilities in Brough, but the larger towns of Appleby and Kirkby Stephen are very close by.The pod is very compact - next time we'll look at a larger cabin.

Some aspects of the lodge are showing their age but no real detriment.

Great accommodation for the price and a beautiful place to chill out. Bed wasnt the best but it is a pod, some help in setting them up ie a picture would make it a quicker process. Would highly recommend Augill Beck to anyone and we will be returning again for sure.
