This review is for a lodge as we were actually upgraded to a lodge as the Classic 2 had electrical problems. Obviously, the lodge was lovely so we were extremely happy with the space and facilities. The hot tub was very small but lovely to sit and relax after a long day out.

Lovely lodge, needed to adapt slightly for mum in a wheelchair but nothing major.

Would recommend a small unit in the bathroom to put toiletries on and a towel rail. But other than that it was perfect £

Date of stay: 5th May 2017
If it hadn't been for the wet dog smell I would have given it a higher rating, can't say for definately if it was from an animal that had previously stayed it could have been stale water maybe but wasn't very nice, but property very comfortable just a shame they didn't have a DVD player
Date of stay: 21st April 2017
Lodge was clean and big enough for 6. Would have liked them to fill hot tub up as there for 4 nights and was half full by time we left
Matthew, Doncaster
Date of stay: 17th April 2017
Great place to stay, nice clean lodges and the staff were very helpful. The only down side was that my kids were told on a few occasions to go play around their own lodge, I could understand if they were being noisy but at they weren't. Overall a pleasant stay but not aimed for families with young children.

Date of stay: 4th September 2015
We enjoyed it very much especially with having two young grandchildren but i do think the inclusion of towels would be a bonus also toilet rolls as there is no shop on site and as we checked in until 4 by the time we had unpacked it was too late. Confirmation said 4 check in but when we arrived we were told we could have checked in at 12.

Date of stay: 28th August 2015
Beds could do with new matteress bit on the springy side. Hence our lower score on furniture and fittings. Otherwise it would of been a score of 10

Lodge was lovely and spacious with lots of wardrobes and drawers etc, in a nice location only 10 minutes from Scarborough.
The TV didn't have good signal which was a shame.

Very good and relaxing holiday, only one issue, the master bedroom smelt very bad of cigarettes every day, we used plug in fresheners to deal with it just about.

Fun Days Out near Applegrove Country Park

If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost £46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.

Located in Harwood Dale Village, North Yorkshire we think this attraction makes a superb family day out and couples will also enjoy the nature walks in the area.  There are 6 nature walks in total surrounding the farm so walkers and lovers of the outdoors will be in their element. Some of our favourite walks include the Spring Flowers, Pond and Village walk which takes around 35 minutes, and the Meadow and Trees walk which takes one hour.

Situated in Malton in North Yorkshire this has to be one of our favourite family days out.  It's a theme park and zoo all in one stretching over a massive 400 acres. With thrilling rides for the very daring like Cliff Hanger, Corkscrew and Kumali, there are also more gentle rides for the little ones such as Frog Hopper and Helitoys.  Family fun attractions include the 4D cinema, the lost river ride and the Little Monsters Den of Mischief. Check out their website for seasonal events which take place throughout the year and you can also gain more information about the zoo.  Flamingo Land is a resort as well as a theme park so you can also book accommodation there.
