The lodge was immaculate. Pet friendly but you would never be able to tell dogs had been there previously. Spotless throughout. Good amenities. Could do with a hairdryer and taking towels was annoying but overall excellent.

The van was fine Knives could have been sharper lol I did buy a sharpener The ensuite was cosy but didn't have a shower just toilet and sink

Perfect for a family. Everything that was needed. Very clean and comfortable.

Lovely caravan all mod cons only complaint no wifi

Lovely caravan which is fitted out very well with dining table, lounge suite and tv. The bedrooms are rather small but the beds are comfortable with crisp white bedlinen and adequate storage space. It would be nice if towels were included. The kitchen has good cooking facilities and just enough crockery, cutlery and equipment. Whilst there is a welcome pack ensuring a cup of tea or coffee could be made on arrival, it seemed a bit miserly, especially the miniature sized washing up liquid. I think the welcome pack could be enhanced. There was a nice decking balcony, but without garden chairs, it was not possible to sit out on it.

Great quiet location and great facilities with one of the best showers I have used. The only disappointment was there was no WiFi and so unable to use some of the features of the TV.

Lovely cabin, gorgeous area. Brilliant for dog walkers as there are poo bins everywhere on site. Have to remember to bring your own towels and remember to pack a hand towel too! Only downside was the cabin is advertised as per friendly, but I would like to have been made aware that dogs are not allowed on the furniture. Which means this cabin is more "pet approved" than anything.

The caravan was modern and very well equipped, with an on-suite toilet and basin to the main bedroom as well as a main shower room. Everything we needed was supplied. Parking for 1 car was available right next to the caravan. A covered front patio would allow outdoor dining if desired. I would definitely stay in this unit and on this site again.

We had a really nice stay! The caravan was tidy and had most things we needed, though there was no dishwasher or washing machine, so just a heads up. What made the trip special was the site itself and the facilities, which were great for our little one. Thanks for a lovely break - well definetly be coming back!

We stayed in this lovely modern caravan and it was spotlessly clean and super comfy. The shower was great, though the mattress was a touch thin, but still fine. Nice facilities with a full fridge freezer and washing machine, really appreciated it!

We had a lovely stay! The place was spotless and very well organised, which we appreciated. Plenty of seating for everyone and most of the equipment was there, which made it easy. The shower was excellent and the 4G signal was reliable, a lifesaver with teenagers. Only thing was no tea towels or cleaning supplies and the mattress was a bit too thin, you could feel the springs through it.

The new caravan was lovely, but the oven tray and a pot were pretty dirty - clearly not cleaned well beforehand. I told reception when we left, so hopefully thatll be sorted for the next guests.

We had a really lovely stay at this modern holiday home. Its super well equipped, with everything we needed and we especially appreciated the little area just inside the door to hang coats and change shoes - very handy! The central heating was straightforward to operate and warmed up quickly, which was great. There were plenty of pots, pans and cutlery, but we couldn't believe there were no scissors! The shower worked well, though a non-slip mat wouldve been a nice safety addition. The covered balcony at the front was a quirky touch, perfect for watching squirrels play. Wed definitely come back!

Really enjoyed our stay, the place was comfy and well located.

We stayed in one of the newer caravans and I have to say, it was a lovely little home away from home. Super clean and cosy - perfect for our family. The location near the castle was ideal for us. That said, winter visits mean quite a few facilities are closed, which wasnt immediately clear since there are no signs outside or in the welcome pack telling you whats open. We eventually figured out the bar is open, but possibly only until 5pm some nights? The coffee shop is open from 10 to 4, which was handy. Sadly, the restaurant and fish and chip shop are closed in the colder months. Reception closes at 3pm during winter, but check-in isnt until 4pm, so its worth calling ahead to see if you can get an earlier check-in. Also, there are no rubbish bins near the caravans, so you have to walk all the way to the castle with your trash - a bit of a pain. Dog waste bins are dotted along the main roads and were kept empty during our stay. The staff we met were friendly, even if not many around in winter. Weather was pretty awful, but thats not Witton Castles fault! Overall, a good base for us, just be prepared for some closed facilities.

Comfortable space, modern and bright

We loved Gatehouse View for the stunning scenery and peaceful vibe. Its perfect if you want quiet and great views. Its a bit of a walk from the castle, which might be tricky for older visitors, but parking at the castle is plentiful. Honestly, we couldnt find anything to complain about here. Top spot!

Really loved staying in this lovely caravan, spotless!

We found you really do need your own towels, which was a bit of a surprise. Also, when using sat nav for D14 0DE, dont forget Sloshes Lane-otherwise, youll end up doing a few extra laps around Witton Wear! Had a good laugh watching the hot air balloon and that cheeky peacock while we played crazy golf. Brilliant trip!
