We recently stayed in the R3 Platinum Spa Six lodge for four nights and genuinely enjoyed ourselves. The setting is perfect for relaxing, with peaceful countryside walks along the canal and nearby spots like the nature discovery centre and Greenham Common add a nice touch. Our lodge was surprisingly spacious and had everything we needed - though a few more kitchen utensils wouldve been handy. We kicked off the year with a BBQ that turned out to be delicious and the hot tub was just what we needed after a busy day. The staff were lovely, especially the lady at reception and the maintenance guy, who were very helpful. Wed definitely recommend it for a quiet, relaxing escape!

The location was great, plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds a charming spot to explore. We definitely left feeling refreshed and relaxed after such a peaceful break. Would happily come back again!

We had such a lovely stay at Goddard's Mead. Rob and Sharon did a fantastic job transforming this historic building with real care and they were incredibly welcoming from the moment we arrived-plus Bonnie was adorable! The place has everything you need for a chill, comfy break. The location is spot on too, in a lovely part of Essex. Wed definitely recommend exploring Thaxted and the surrounding villages - loads of interesting history and pretty sights to discover!

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. The lodge looked modern and was spotless. It had all we needed, though we did miss WiFi, but it was nice to switch off for a bit. One of the bed sheets was a bit dusty, but the caretaker sorted us out quickly. Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely stay at this place, tucked away in such a peaceful, private spot. The owners were genuinely friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, but it never felt intrusive. The hot tub was a real highlight after cycling all day! The only thing to keep in mind is that the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our trip at all. Wed definitely go back!

We booked this place for a dog walking break and it was just what we needed. Lovely quality accommodation, plenty of nearby pubs and eateries and endless fields for walks. Our dog didnt want to leave at all!

The owners, Robert and Sharon, are such friendly folks - really made us feel welcome. The place itself is really spacious, with a well-stocked kitchen and a comfy bed that we didnt want to leave. The garden is lovely, dog-proof and perfect for relaxing. There are plenty of walks nearby and Thaxteds eateries, especially The Star and The Maypole, are worth checking out. Wed happily recommend it!

We had a fantastic stay! The hot tub was definitely a highlight. The only thing we found tricky was the limited storage-packing for five for four nights was a bit tight. Still, we enjoyed ourselves a lot and would happily come back again.
