The lodge was spotless when we got there and the hot tub was all set up, which was great. It had everything we needed, super cosy and really home-like too.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The lodge was spotless and the beds comfy, which was great. It had all we needed, though the fridge was a bit tiny. The sofa bed was a little worn, but since we didnt spend much time inside, it wasnt a big deal.

Overall, we had a good stay. The place was spotless and tidy, but honestly, the sofas were a bit uncomfortable, which was a shame.

So, we had a pretty decent weekend at this cabin, but honestly, there are a few things that could be improved. First off, the location is stunning - loads of wildlife and breathtaking views, which really made our trip special. The arrival was super smooth; we got a warm welcome and appreciated the small shop at reception that sold local preserves and essentials. Everything was clearly labelled, which made finding our cabin easy and the wifi was surprisingly reliable - no issues there, even with everyone online. The hot tub was definitely a highlight. It was spotless and tucked away in a private spot, perfect for relaxing. The outdoor table was a nice touch, especially to keep drinks and phones handy while soaking. But, we did have a bit of a problem with wind - no hooks outside for towels or robes, so we had to leave them on the floor, which wasnt ideal. Also, no plastic drinkware for the hot tub, so we had to improvise with our water bottles since we didnt want glass breaking on the deck. Now, onto some of the less great bits. The kitchen was pretty sparse - only one oven tray and two wine glasses for four people, which felt a bit stingy. Plus, no freezer section in the fridge - no ice for drinks, which was a pain. The pillows were super flat and we only got one each for the single beds, which made sleeping a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom had some issues too - water pressure in the shower was rubbish and most water leaked from the hose rather than the shower head, so it wasnt the best experience. There was no info pack at all - usually theres a handy booklet with check-out times, local info, etc., but we only saw an advert for buying a cabin on the site. The power outlets didnt seem to handle much - we couldnt even run a hairdryer without tripping the circuit, which mightve been due to lots of people using power over the weekend. Checking out on Sunday was a bit strange, as no one was at reception, so we just left the keys and went. The water pressure in the shower was a real letdown and the hose leaked a lot, making it tricky to get a decent wash. Despite these niggles, the sites overall vibe was lovely and wed probably come back for the views and wildlife alone. Just a few tweaks with the amenities and info provision would make all the difference. All in all, a nice little escape - we just think it needs a bit of fine tuning!

The lodge was surprisingly spacious for our group of six and the hot tub was already heated when we arrived. Definitely a lovely touch! We all managed to sleep comfortably, which was great. Overall, a really nice stay, no complaints at all.

Overall, we had a lovely stay. The lodge was tidy and comfortable, though more towels wouldve been handy, especially for the hot tub. An oven cloth or gloves wouldve been a nice touch. The pub was charming and the staff really friendly. Great value for money!

Honestly, I was a bit nervous after reading some negative reviews, but we had a lovely weekend here. The hot tub was fantastic and the place feels pretty secluded, so remember to bring everything you need. The on-site pub serves great Thai food and breakfast was really tasty. Definitely planning to come back soon!

Getting to the site was quite the journey - five miles down a really bumpy single track, not ideal for your car at all. Once there, we found the nearby village of Metheringham, which has a few pubs, takeaways and a co-op, so not bad for basics. Its about an hours drive to Anderby Creek, which is a lovely spot, but honestly, its a bit of a trek each way. The setting by the river is really nice, lots of countryside around, but the site itself could do with better upkeep and the lodges werent as clean as wed hoped.

We had such a lovely stay! The staff were really welcoming and friendly. The new lodges are quiet and perfect for a quick getaway. Plus, our dog loved the river walks right from the site.
