We stayed in the Stargazer cabin for 7 nights (no: 17) and upon arriving it was clear that the cabin was very small and compact. Although finished to the highest standard with stunning design, the cabin lacked space. We had to rearrange the cupboard in the small kitchen to find places for our food. We had to keep some of our stuff in the car so we werent falling over it. There wasnt enough surface space in the kitchen and there was the matter of having to dance around the dining table when making food or trying to get in the oven. There is space for your clothes, but no washing machine. There is a dishwasher however. There is also no hoover or sweeping brush, just a dust pan and little brush that you need to get down on your knees to use, not ideal in a pet friendly cabin. We ended up buying a mini hoover just to keep the cabin clean for the week. There is no places to hang coats or longer items of clothing. Staff told me there was hooks on the back of doors but upon checking several times (incase I was going mental) there was none. The bedrooms were big enough as were the en-suites. The shower was great. The outdoor area is gorgeous, large outdoor kitchen with bbq, hot tub, table and chairs and a lounging area. The only issue with the outside was the lack of secured area for our dog. There is no fence or gate. Some cabins do have a dog run at the back of cabin (pointless really when you cant keep an eye on your pet) but for some reason our cabin seemed to be the only one that wasnt secured. The park itself is situated in a gorgeous part of Ellesmere, all cabins spaced out well. Staff really lovely and when we asked for more towels (because we had no washing machine) they happily assisted. Its a really gorgeous place, the cabin is decent I just wouldnt recommend it for 7 nights.

We didnt actually stay in the stargazer we were upgraded to a larger lodge due to digger works and it was fantastic. The stargazer looked a little small for a family for a week

This was probably the best lodge we have stayed in. We booked the Stargazer which was very good value for money. The interiors are very modern and stylish with all modern amenities. The soft furnishings and decor do not disappoint and all was cleaned to an excellent standard. We walked in to a lovely welcome pack full of high end snacks. The outside space was the big winner for me, the hot tub could comfortably fit 6 people. We loved the all fresco dining area complete with gazebo, Egg chair & Big Boss BBQ/outdoor kitchen. Fortunately we got the weather to utilise it a few times. The outside space doesn't stop there, there was also a fire pit to sit around which or girls loved making snores (fire starting kit provided) there is also an outdoor corner sofa with table and loungers on as decked area overlooking the meadow. Perfect to relax whilst the children were playing. We are a family of four with 2 girls aged 6 & 8 and found the inside was as little compact but perfectly cosy. The outdoor space more than made up for it. All the staff at The Barn's were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding area is lovely with nearby Shropshire Canal to walk along to the nearby Mere's or even how a canal boat for the day. Ellesmere had everything you need and done lovely pubs. Only a short walk from the site. The Mere at Ellesmere didn't disappoint, with plenty of nature walks and a decent park for the kids. We also had a day out in Shrewsbury which had a lovely park by the river Severn with open fields, pretty flower gardens, a large play park area with splash pad when the sun is out. Also has an Italian cafe for the essential gelato and coffee! We also took a boat ride down the river. All in all we had a fantastic stay at The Barn's at Blackwater Meadow and highly recommend this place. We will be back in sure.

Upgraded from Stargazer to 2 bedroom barn which was an amazing lodge with en-suite to master bedroom & family bathroom to 2nd bedroom. Modern & spotlessly clean.

The lodges are stunning and kept so tidy, we loved the peaceful vibe right by the canal and woods. The cute town just five minutes walk away was a real bonus and there are loads of sights nearby with beautiful views all around. We had a fantastic time and can't wait to return!

We had a lovely short stay at The Barns. The drive up was a bit rough with some pretty big potholes on the track, but the staff reassured us theyre working on fixing it soon. The team on site were genuinely helpful and friendly throughout our visit. Our lodge, Stargazer, was spotless and had lovely bathrooms and bedrooms. It was a bit smaller than we imagined in the lounge and kitchen area, but once we settled in, it was comfortable enough for just the two of us. If youre planning to bring more people, Id suggest upgrading to a larger lodge. The setting is beautiful, right next to the canal for nice walks and close to The Mere. If theres another deal, well definitely come back!

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Its spacious, beautifully furnished and super comfy beds. Theres plenty of storage in every room and having a full-sized fridge/freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher made everything so easy. Its warm and feels like a home away from home!

The cabins really charming and thoughtfully decorated, giving off a warm vibe. The kitchen and front room are a good size, but we did find the storage a bit lacking-more drawers and hangers wouldve been helpful!

We recently booked a two-night stay here as a sort of belated Christmas treat for my partner and honestly, it was fantastic! The place is absolutely gorgeous, with so much attention to detail inside. Everything you could possibly need is there, including a really sweet welcome basket with some goodies. Just before we arrived, we got a call from Kate to let us know the driveway was flooded because of the rain, but they kindly upgraded us to a different barn. We really appreciated that gesture since it wasnt necessary, but they did it anyway - big thanks to Kate for that! The staff are genuinely lovely and attentive and the hot tub was just the best. The views are breathtaking and honestly, we didnt want to leave the place - its perfect for a cosy couples escape. Really loved it, thank you so much!

We had a lovely weekend away. The facilities were really good and the hot tub was already warm when we got there, which was a nice touch. Sadly, the first two nights were cloudy, so no stargazing, but the third night, clear skies meant plenty of stars to enjoy. Wed definitely come back!

We had a wonderful stay! The lodge was stunning and perfectly placed for walking into Ellesmere. The walk around the lake was lovely and the kids enjoyed the park. The Sunday lunch at the boathouse was really nice. The only downside was the unfenced pet area near our lodge, but we hear its being sorted. Well definitely return!

We had a really lovely stay at the Barns! The location is just perfect - peaceful but still a short walk into Ellesmere, which we loved. The warm welcome was a nice touch, especially the hamper of treats and Angela popping by on the first morning to check in and give us a map was really thoughtful. The site itself is so tranquil, perfect for unwinding. Stargazing in the hot tub and spotting wildlife in the mornings was such a treat, especially with that little view of the canal and swans. Were already thinking about coming back in summer to enjoy the fire pit and outdoor furniture. Definitely recommend!
