The villa exceeded expectations- it was fully stocked with all the equipment we needed to make a meal so we didnt have to take much with us. Heating was great when needed as the temperature dropped and we had a welcome pack of bread, butter and jam with milk in the fridge to get us started. Fabulous stay and exceptional cleaning- we had no complaints

The lodge was simply outstanding

No water on my the Sunday. No communication. Was out most of the day, had to leave site.

Bright and airy, clean with everything you could possibly need. Only downside was how hot it got at night.

The lodge was very clean; especially the bathrooms which is what I always look out for. The kitchens were well equipped having everything we could need. The decor was lovely - so cosy and homely. We loved the open plan kitchen and living area - it was so spacious! The beds were very comfy and huge as were the bathrooms.

Really enjoyed our stay here. The place was spotless and peaceful. Hosts were super friendly. The hot tub was a lovely treat and our dog loved the garden.

It is difficult to find any faults. But perhaps the wash basin in the bathroom was quite small and shallow. The bath tap was a bit uncomfortable unsecure and wobbled.

Overall, this place was pretty good! The only minor issues were the tiny, shallow basin in the bathroom and the bath tap that felt a bit loose and wobbly. Nothing major though.

We absolutely loved our stay! The lodge's stunning 180-degree views were breathtaking and the hot tub was perfect for relaxing after exploring. Very clean and well equipped too.

Gorgeous lodge, sparkling clean, very spacious open plan kitchen dining lounge has the wow factor. Hot water with good shower power. Superfast WiFi and tv in every room even in the enclosed hot tub area! Only reason for good vs excellent facilities the dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid, although plenty of dishwasher tabs maybe a little cup of washing powder or a couple of tabs for washing machine would be good too but minor points and wouldnt impact decision to return! Hot tub fabulous easy to get into and very comfy large beds not too soft nor too firm!

We did notice the dishwasher needed salt and rinse aid, which was a bit of an annoyance and a few more washing machine tabs wouldve been handy. But honestly, these were minor issues. The hot tub was a real highlight - easy to get in and so relaxing. The beds were just right - not too soft, not too hard. Wed definitely come back!

We recently stayed at this lodge and honestly, its fantastic. The kitchen is well-equipped and the living space feels so spacious and cosy at the same time. The bedrooms are huge, with super comfy beds that made us want to stay in bed all day! The views are just stunning, whether youre looking over the lake or the rolling hills and Skiddaw. Perfect for any weather, especially with the undercover hot tub. The smart TVs and log burner added a nice touch. Weve been here a few times now and its definitely our go-to spot for a chilled getaway!

Undercover hot tub is perfect. Smart tvs in every room, and there's a log burner in living area, too. Lodges are very warm.We've been five times over the past few years, and it's our favourite place to have a chilled break away!10/10 from us.

We arrived to a warm welcome from friendly staff, which made us feel at home right away. The site was spotless and easy to get around. Our stay in the Wellington was fantastic - so clean and well-equipped, with everything from dishwasher to utensils. Plenty of shops and beaches nearby. Would definitely return!

The lodges are really cosy and warm, with a well-stocked kitchen. Washer dryer was perfect after the hot tub!

The house was truly lovely, nestled in the countryside with such a peaceful vibe. The courtyard with its slates was charming and the hot tub made it feel super posh. Perfect for walks too.

Great stay, but some things could be improved.

We stayed here with my partner and our two kids and honestly, it was a lovely escape. The lodges were spotless and really comfy. The spot is perfect if you're after peace and quiet, just what we needed. The only real downside was the restaurant wasnt open every day, which was a bit disappointing. Still, a great place for kids to play, explore and do a bit of fishing. Perfect for relaxing!

We stayed at this lodge and loved it! Very spacious, super comfy beds and the place was spotless. TVs in every room were a nice touch too.

While the park seems more like a quiet retreat with few play options, the staff were lovely and really made our kids feel at home. Its not the best for active young families wanting loads of activities, but we still had a really nice stay overall. Would visit again!

Absolutely incredible place

We have stayed in many lodges over the years and this is in the top one or two absolutely amazing and the pictures do not do it justice. Immaculately clean, very comfortable beds, every thing you need in a kitchen and a fan included. We always over pack but you don’t need to take kitchen cleaner, cloths, bin bags, dishwasher tablets enough for one a day. Milk, bread, butter and jam more than enough of these. Hot tub looked after on a daily basis. Surroundings are beautiful, well laid out with mounds between each lodge, so you are not overlooked and peaceful.

Only niggles and not one that the lodges could change, the road or rail noise can be loud early in the morning, two of us were woken early on the first morning, but a set of ear plugs stopped one of us waking the following morning and the other slept through with no issues. I will say that other in our party didn’t wake and everyone said they felt they had slept better at the lodge than they had for a long time. You cannot hear the road at any other times.

Shower pressure isn’t the best but does its job.

Overall, brilliant stay and will be back again that’s for sure, may be even later this year.

PS please use the chopping boards in the kitchen, there are lots of them and sadly not everyone has which is a real shame for the owners.

Had a fabulous break away staying in the Darwin lodge. The only negative was having to leave! It was a real treat and we will be back.

If Carlsberg did lodges, this would be it! Absolutely stunning lodge internally and externally. Everything is thought of for the stay, even down to all the utensils that you didn’t know you may need. One of the comfiest beds I have stayed in. Even the lights in the roof for the outside deck is that certain touch of luxury that has been thought of. Every little aspect of the stay has been thought exceptionally. The food at the restaurant was amazing as well as the butchers. Loved it so much I have booked again (as a surprise) for my husbands birthday in December for 3 nights again?
