Decent lodge with good size bedroom and a nice shower.

Can't fault the inside of the lodge, outside the hottub cover was difficult to remove as it had been placed too close to the fence so you had to drag it forward and try and flip it off, not ideal but 2 of us managed, good security coded gate to enter

Tip top facilities. Couldnt ask for anything more

We needed a quick escape for walking the dog and this place was spot on. Lovely countryside, plenty of off-road routes and the local pubs were just a short stroll away. The dog didnt want to leave!

We had an amazing stay! The lodge was spotless, modern and super comfortable, with the hot tub being a real highlight. The peaceful vibe was just what we needed. The staff really went above and beyond-couldn't ask for better service. Were already planning our next trip back, cant wait to return! Definitely recommend!

We only stayed for a couple of nights, so we rated the value as a 4*. Honestly, a weeks stay wouldn't have been much more expensive, which seems like good value. The fixtures and fittings were really nice, but a few spots like the bathroom felt a bit awkwardly designed for real practicality. Still, we enjoyed it!

As we were only there for two days, the value for money was scored as a 4*. This is because a week (7-days would have been only a little more, The fixtures and fittings were lovely, however there were some areas (i.e. bathroom) that did not appear to be well laid out for practical use.

The cottage itself is adorable, with a charming half-timbered look and a really strong shower which was much appreciated after a day out. The cosy kitchen and comfy bed made it hard to leave. Parking right next to the cottage was super handy and everything was spotless. Perfect base for walks to Thaxted and exploring nearby villages-highly recommend!

Perfect location within easy reach of so many locations. The Dragon's Back, Mamtor, Monsal Trail etc etc the list is endless.
Coming back to the hottub at the end of a long hike was the icing on the cake ?

What a fantastic stay. The site was immaculate, the sfaff were friendly and the caravan was perfect, the hot tub was a brilliant way to end the day exploring. We will definitely be back.

Park is very good and well maintained.

Lovely quiet site in a beautiful area. The lodge was well equipped and spacious. The site staff were accommodating and a housekeeper showed us around the lodge on arrival. There was a problem with the bed being made up as a double instead of 2 singles, but they sorted this out within 30 mins for us. The site loaned us a BBQ at no charge, which I thought was generous as it was gas powered and some cost would be incurred by them. There is a small shop on site in reception where you can get some essentials and ice cream, and there is an information point with lots of leaflets and DVDs.
There are a few areas which could be improved. The ensuite shower in our lodge was dire - very little pressure. There was also a bit of a noise in the bedroom from either the boiler or water pipes on the wall behind the bed. Also the site should really consider providing free and unlimited wi-fi site wide or at least to the lodges that have paid a hefty price. We have stayed in numerous lodges (often in remote areas) over the years and it pretty much is the norm to have wifi and streaming/netflix in them now.

We had a great two weeks here at Longnor. The staff were really friendly, helpful and shared local information on arrival as well. The Caravan was fantastic - so nice to have more space in bedroom and loads of storage space. We spent most of the time walking and cycling in the local area and then came back to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day. A really quiet site which was just what we wanted.
