We had a really relaxing stay at this lovely spot. The privacy was just perfect and the owners were genuinely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The hot tub was a real treat after a long day of cycling, which we loved. One thing to note is that the cottage sits directly under Stansted's flight path, so there's quite a bit of aircraft noise. It took us a couple of hours to get used to it, but honestly, it didnt ruin our trip. Definitely a place wed return to!

The cottage was just perfect for us, nestled away from the busy areas. The hot tub was a real highlight and the owners were incredibly friendly without being overbearing. We loved it!

We stayed at this lovely cottage and honestly, the owners are some of the nicest weve come across. Theyre super helpful and genuinely friendly. The place itself is adorable - a traditional half-timbered home with a really strong shower, cosy kitchen and lounge, plus a super comfy bed. Parking right outside is a real plus. Its warm, spotless and perfect for exploring with nice walks to Thaxted and nearby villages filled with charming old houses and windmills. We loved it!

We stayed for a week over the February half term with our mum, two kids and two dogs. The cottage was spotless when we arrived and the manager gave us such a warm welcome, which was lovely. Despite having other guests around, it was surprisingly peaceful and quiet, perfect for a relaxing break. We enjoyed some fantastic walks with the dogs each day and the onsite swimming pool was so clean and inviting - such a shame we didn't have enough time to make the most of it! The hot tub was a real highlight, huge and at just the right temperature, which the kids loved. The kitchen was a bit tight for space, but manageable since we're used to a bigger one at home. It might help to have scissors and a gravy jug there. One thing that was a bit annoying was the hot tub being drained on checkout morning without any warning - the kids were really disappointed not to have a last dip. The garden was flooded too, so we couldnt let the dogs out, but overall, it was a lovely stay!

We had a really lovely stay! Sharon and Robert were such welcoming hosts and made us feel right at home. The place had everything we needed - super clean, comfy and secure for Archie, our dog. The location was perfect for exploring, with plenty of walks nearby. Thaxted and the surrounding villages are charming spots to visit. Honestly, our batteries are definitely recharged after a relaxing week. Would happily return!

The place itself is charming - a beautiful half-timbered building with a super strong shower, a cosy combined kitchen and living space and a really comfy bed. Parking right next to the cottage was a big plus. Its well-heated, spotless and perfect for exploring the walks to Thaxted or popping over to the nearby village with its lovely half-timbered houses and windmill. Wed definitely come back!

We had a really nice time! The apartment was huge and well-equipped, super clean too. The hot tub and pool were spotless and easy to get to, which was great. The host was friendly and gave us a mobile number in case anything came up after hours. We've stayed twice now and would definitely come back if we're nearby. Highly recommend!

We recently stayed at Goddard's Mead and honestly, it was lovely. Rob and Sharon have done a fantastic job turning this historic building into a cozy place to stay. They greeted us so warmly and Bonnie was a sweet touch! The location is perfect for exploring Essex, especially if you enjoy wandering around Thaxted and nearby villages - so much history to soak up. Wed definitely recommend it for a relaxed getaway. Definitely worth the visit!

We loved our stay at The Clock House! The charming atmosphere made it perfect for relaxing getaways. Its handy spot just north of Norwich means we could easily explore the Norfolk Broads, coast and the city itself. The pool was a real highlight and booking was straightforward with their paper system. Definitely recommend!
