Stayed in the Smithy. Spotlessly clean so a big shout out to the cleaning team. Left it as we found it. Spotless. Also a big shout out to the Groundsmen for the immaculate garden and surrounding woodlands. Excellent information folder and wine and chocolate on arrival. Hot tub was fabulous about a one minute walk away. Set privately in the trees. Henelle Robes and slippers or flip flops provided to use. Full large mod con kitchen, cooker microwave fridge freezer all the utensils. Large table and chairs. Beautiful Belfast sinkBBQ, outside seating area in the courtyard. Log burner inside or central heating. Didnt use the log burner as weather was warm but if you use it then you have to buy more wood yourself when the fire dies down Large living area with tv mounted on the wall. Smart tv so no dvd player. Wi-Fi good for tv but for phone it kept dropping out. Large comfortable bedroom and huge bed plenty of storage I have a few gripes. The first being the floor to ceiling windows. The other cottages are on the other sides of the courtyard so with no net curtains except in the bedroom other guests and children can see directly in which was abit awkward if you were sat there watching tv or the like. There are curtains to draw at night. Bathroom. Spacious shower over bath scorching hot water so beware. The second gripe was the extraction fan did not work in the bathroom. We arrived Monday. So Tuesday morning went to reception to report it not working as the steam from the bathroom was going to the bedroom. The lady on reception said someone would fix it that day. They never came out all week. Gripe 3 the extraction hood on the cooker also did not work. Apart from the light. So when cooking the smells filled the kitchen Gripe 4 towels not changed all week. So with the hot tub and showers baths daily etc the towels were consistently wet so hanging up everywhere to try and dry one for next use. Did not know there was a tumble dryer in the wash room opposite. Last gripe. When we checked in you are asked to wait in the restaurant till 4pm you cannot check in earlier. The lady gave us a voucher for 10% of breakfasts and lunches and advised if we called for a takeaway it could be delivered. One night we decided on a Take out. So rang over placed the order asked for delivery to be told we have to collect and pay on collection. So no deliveries. Food was great and location amazing. Loads of things to do nearby or within an hours drive. Will book again. Next time to try a lodge.

The Butlers quarters is a cosy cottage with lots of character. It does make the layout a little quirky and the stairs could be awkward for some with mobility issues but we had a lovely time there. The hot tub is just past where you park the car and in a secluded wooded area and we enjoyed several sessions in it.

Butlers Quarters was charming and unique. Clean as always at Henlle. We have stayed in a number of different accommodation on site and I might be honest this was our least favourite. However saying this we would stay here again and would recommend. We just struggled with the heat in the bedroom and the stairs.

We had a fantastic stay at The Stables. We loved the original features and the cottage was well equipped with everything we needed, including flip flops and robes to walk the short distance to the hot tub. The only thing that could be improved was the lounge furniture- the sofa and armchairs were uncomfortable.

We stayed in the stables and loved how unique the place was. It was spotless and had everything we needed for a short break. We had a fantastic time! The location is ideal for exploring Wales and Shrewsbury, but its also a great spot to just relax for a few days. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Beds were super comfy and the hot tub was spot on. The cosy lounge with the log fire made it even better. Well be back for sure!

Honestly, we loved this place! Its our first time, but definitely not the last. The cottage was gorgeous and super clean, with everything you could need. The on-site restaurant was a real bonus if you fancy a break from cooking amidst such stunning gardens. Highly recommend!

I would give it 6 out of 5 for all categories! My first visit but it definitely wont be my last. Beautiful cottage, spotless and everything you need for self catering. Excellent on site restaurant if you dont want to cook, all set in stunning grounds.

We loved the peaceful vibe of the place, yet its so handy with Chesters shops and trains just around the corner. The staff genuinely couldnt do enough and the property was spotless with all the comforts youd want. Excellent value!

We had such a great long weekend at Henlle Hall Cottages! The place had everything we needed, plus that lovely private hot tub was a real highlight. Also, the roast dinner at Henlle Heights was fantastic value for money. Highly recommend!
