Warm and inviting stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rural setting was so peaceful and the courtyard with its lovely slate was a highlight. The hot-tub made everything feel extra special. Perfect for country walks!

The lodge was really charming and spotless, with a private hot tub that wasnt overlooked at all. The staff were friendly and made sure the hot tub was always clean and checked regularly. We took a bus into Edinburgh and loved exploring the nearby walking routes. Overall, we had a fantastic stay!

We had such a lovely stay! The owners were genuinely warm and helpful, making us feel really welcome. The cottage itself is adorable-love the charming timber framing and the cosy vibe. The shower is fantastic and the bed was super comfy. Parking right outside was a big plus and everything was spotless. We enjoyed peaceful walks through the fields to Thaxted, with its beautiful old houses and windmill. Definitely recommend for a relaxing getaway!

The beds werent amazing, but honestly, they couldve been worse. I really liked the pillows and blankets, plus those towels were so soft and big! Definitely a plus.

We really appreciated our time here. Sharon and Robert made us feel right at home from the start, which was lovely. The place had everything we needed - super clean, comfy and secure for our dog Archie, which was a big plus. The location was perfect for walks and exploring Thaxted and nearby villages. The owners are genuinely lovely and welcoming. When the storm knocked out the power, they were super helpful. The place is spotless, well-equipped and cosy. Our dog loved the enclosed garden and we enjoyed the hot tub too!

We had a really lovely stay in this cosy cottage tucked away in a quiet, private spot. The owners were super friendly and always on hand if we needed anything, but it still felt peaceful and secluded. The hot tub was a great bonus after a long day cycling around the area! Just a heads up, its right under Stansteds flight path, so theres quite a bit of aircraft noise. It didnt bother us much once we got used to it, but if you're sensitive to noise, it might be worth considering. Overall, wed definitely come back!

The place was spotless when we got there, which was a great start. The hot tub was checked daily and we found plenty of crockery. When our cooker broke, they responded super quick-within the hour! Plus, a bottle of wine and even washing up stuff waiting for us-really thoughtful touches.

We booked this place for a dog walking getaway and honestly, it was just what we needed. The accommodation was top-notch and with pubs and eateries nearby, plus endless fields for off-road strolls, we didnt want to leave the dog behind! Absolutely loved it!

Lovely quiet campsite, located perfectly for visiting surrounding areas.

Excellent - very helpful staff, the hot tub was checked every day. Furnishings in the lodge were good, comfy beds with lovely cotton bed linen and good pillows, which was great, given the heat we were experiencing. Excellent kitchen facilities and the 2 shower rooms were good as well.

Park and Ride to Edinburgh was close by and you have a choice of train (10mins) or bus (60 mins).

We would certainly book again.

What a fantastic place to stay , the lodge was beautiful it had recently been renovated to a high standard, all the rooms were spacious and the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms, the kitchen has everything you will need including washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets,tea towels and sanitizer. The hot tub is checked twice a day by the very nice wardens who answer any questions you might have, we were in the hot tub twice a day it was fab.If we were to come back to Scotland i would defiantly come back here.

We had the most Amazing relaxing holiday. The Campsite was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful and friendly and our Lodge was very luxurious

The Lodges were being renovated and the one we stayed in was next to be done.

With that in mind - the lodge was a good size and clean. There wasn’t any spare kitchen cupboards for food, it was a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine.

The hot tub was old and not all the jets worked, it was checked 2 x per day for chemicals!

There was no Wi-Fi and the phone signal was poor - walk up to next lodge/tent area and it was better.

The lodge definitely needed refurbishment, however it was a really nice, well kept and quiet site.

Easy to get into Edinburgh and surrounding areas.

We would stay again - the refurbished Lodges, we were told, all having new hot tubs fitted!

Loverly lodge with all facilities required for a self catering break, recently been refurbished some snagging issues which could do with being addressed.
Plenty to do in this area and Edinburgh only a short drive or hop on the bus. Nice restaurants nearby and most will deliver to the park enterance.
Would definatly recommend this park as it has the best of both worlds, peace and quiet with the option of a base for a more active break.
