Fun Days Out in Powys

Treasure Island Fun Centre is situated in the Anglesey area of North of Wales and there is really no better place to take children on a rainy day. The fantastic all weather attraction features a huge array of slides, chutes, climbing frames, ball pools and mazes. Energetic kids can really let of steam while the grown ups can relax in the cafe with a drink and a snack. There are separate areas four younger children to play safely, so no one is left out of the fun.

Penrhyn Castle is a neo-Norman castle is located in the stunning Gwynedd region of Wales. The castle will appeal to those who enjoy sites of historical interest as well as to families looking to enjoy a fun day out. The Castle is in very good condition and guided tours are on offer. Don't miss a look at the grand hall with its exquisite collection of paintings or the Victorian Kitchen which gives amazing insight into the running of the Castle. Other highlights include the Servants Rooms and the one ton slate bed which was originally made for Queen Victoria.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.

This lodge is amazing value for money if you are looking for a total chill out, and ideal for families. In fact the new word of the week during our holiday "chill axing" as stated by our 6yr old.
We were in No 7 very large spacious lodge with added extras. TV in every bedroom and an x box in the living room, kept the boys happy and their dad.
A brilliant 4 days spent chilling out in the countryside, you couldn't ask for better.

Fantastic places to stay 4th time we have stayed there

Going back next year for another great time
Stayed here for a week beginning 14th-21st October 2017. Very nice quiet site with approx. 12-14 various lodges. We had the Kestral VIP with hot tub. The lodge itself was very nice, but we felt that there could have been a few more kitchen cupboards, as struggling with some of our food etc. The oven was a bit hit and miss as it had no dials on it to enable us to judge the temperature. We did not like the fact that a massive hoover was stuck in a corner and the mop and bucket in situ in the bathroom. It would have been quite easy to store both these products outside in some sort of shed!!! There were some lovely touches however, with bathrobes, towels, bathroom essentials, mini bottle of bubbly, and chocs. Although the lodge grounds had a little park, I wouldn't take children here, because there is nothing for them to do. The village is a good 10 mins down hill with a small town. This really is walking country, and for children, you would need to venture further afield to Cardiff, Swansea, Merythr etc. With all of these comments, we thoroughly enjoyed our first lodge experience, and would most certainly recommend to couples, honeymooners. Our best experience was the lovely hot tub which is a must!!!!
A fantastic, peaceful weekend stay at Heronstone Lodges. I could have stayed all week. I just wish I had booked one with the hot tub! Will definitely be going back 😊
Just an amazing place to stay. The hot tub was a lovely extra to our family's little break. Nice people running the place and nothing too much trouble. We stayed in Woodpecker VIP and would recommend this for families. All the added extras were just great and the boys loved playing on the x box that was in the lodge.
Amazing in every way would highly recommend to stay here 😀
Excellent holiday and break away! Will definitely come back and highly recommend.
Amazing place. The hot tub was so relaxing, lodge had everything you could want. Steve was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.
Amazing. Lovely Cottage. Lovely Staff, great area. Can't wait to visit again!
