Fun Days Out in Powys

Treasure Island Fun Centre is situated in the Anglesey area of North of Wales and there is really no better place to take children on a rainy day. The fantastic all weather attraction features a huge array of slides, chutes, climbing frames, ball pools and mazes. Energetic kids can really let of steam while the grown ups can relax in the cafe with a drink and a snack. There are separate areas four younger children to play safely, so no one is left out of the fun.

Penrhyn Castle is a neo-Norman castle is located in the stunning Gwynedd region of Wales. The castle will appeal to those who enjoy sites of historical interest as well as to families looking to enjoy a fun day out. The Castle is in very good condition and guided tours are on offer. Don't miss a look at the grand hall with its exquisite collection of paintings or the Victorian Kitchen which gives amazing insight into the running of the Castle. Other highlights include the Servants Rooms and the one ton slate bed which was originally made for Queen Victoria.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.

Bluebell lodge is perfect if you have children. A twin room next to the master bedroom. The master is en suite too making this perfect. The built in sauna was very welcome on one colder day and the lodge has all the utilities you could need. Well presented and maintained

have to say I had the best time staying at trewythen lodges, I booked the lodge for the weekend as a birthday surprise for my husband in march and it was fabulous. The surroundings were breathtaking, the lodge was so clean, beautiful, spacious and cosy and the lovely couple made it so perfect for us. I will definitely be coming again as we both had an amazing weekend. Thank you Annie for all your hospitality. From Faiza (girl with the birthday cake

Fab place for a get away from it all holiday. Not really suitable for children. Great for adults wanting to get away from it all. Very helpful owners. We have been coming for years and will be back again in December

Booked last minute so got a significant discount. Beautiful lodge and surrounding with lovely camp owner. Would have liked a walk to a local pub, but not didn't spoil the break.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility then this place is the best. Lovely lodge with only the sound of sheep to make you realise you are Still on earth. The location is surrounded by a lovely view which is even better in the hot tub. The staff are very helpful and can offer advice on where to go for days out. The log cabin is well presented with all towels and tableware included so pack light. There is a Morrison's and tesco supermarkets within 7 miles. This place is perfect for getting away from the city and I will definitely go back
