Visitor Reviews of Belan Bach Lodges

Date of stay: 29th May 2022
Not good rundown all around

Date of stay: 10th April 2022
As well as faults already listed, there were some tablets left under armchair which had been swallowed by a child could have been fatal.

Great value. Beautiful scenery, hot tubs are great

Again as before it was pretty amazing, the main door was a bit warped (can't be helped given its location) and some windows didn't close properly, which wasn't an issue as it was a pretty warm December but if it had been colder I think the lodge may have been a bit chilly even with the heating on.

Wouldn't stay here again

The lodge was a little dated inside and in need of a bit of TLC but overall the lodge was very comfy and spacious and had lovely surroundings, it did what we needed it to do. The hot tub facility was fab and we used it every day we had a really good experience overall and would visit again in the future.

Considering that we couldn't get in until after 5pm the lodge wasn't that clean. Plenty of cob webs around the lodge. On first entry to the lodge we were surprised by the amount of flies in it. There was fly paper hanging from the ceiling with a load of casualties on it. This made the lodge feel dirty and uncomfortable. Wasn't nice when you sat down to have flies constantly flying around and landing on you. The plug in the en suite didn't work. Had to pull it out by hand. The two doors to the en suite didn't shut right. Took a lot of force to open and close them. The wi fi was a complete waste of time. Even just for simple browsing it was worse than useless. The lodge itself seemed tired and in need of a refresh. Interior walls in living area could do with a coat of paint. Wouldn't rush back until these issues have been sorted.

We were welcomed by the owner and found the cabin to be exactly as described - great value for money, beautiful scenery and a lovely little hidden gem - just would like to revisit when the weather is kinder!

Brilliant break with the family

Date of stay: 20th February 2020
Amazing location with beautiful views...lodges are clean and comfortable and private due to the surrounding bushes and trees. The kitchen is well equipped although you need to take your own tea towels...a complementary pint of milk and a couple of tea bags and sachets of coffee are provided upon arrival, although I would recommend you nip in to a shop on the way to the lodges as it saves having to go back out to purchase essentials and food, instead you can just relax and have a dip in the hot tub which is already at the perfect temperature on arrival...the views from the hot tub are amazing and the lodge itself has ceiling to floor windows which allows you to soak up the views from inside too...the weather wasnt particularly good which we knew it wouldnt be before hand but the location, the hot tub and the lodge itself made up for the bad weather so overall we had an amazing stay and would definitely recommend and book again...Richard, the owner made a short visit to introduce himself and to ensure everything was okay for us...

You could literally happily live in this cabin. Amazing. Fully functional kitchen which is better than my one at home (it has a dishwasher). Gas fire and central heating. Under floor heating in bathroom is just amazing. Specially after getting in the hot tub and running in to get dry

Second stay here we love it but theres nothing around to walk to it, its a fab relaxing break and its just half an hour from Welshpool where youll find supermarkets, pubs and takeaways. We just take everything with us and chill, the cabins are lovely and warm with nice comfortable furniture. The hot tub is amazing! Well worth a visit. Only thing was we were half hour late checking out (waiting for hubby to get out shower) and the cleaner stood on the decking waiting for us, I approached her and told her the only thing I hadnt done was hoover as I was going to do that when everyone was out and all she said was Dont worry i would of only done it after you anyway and I thought that was a bit rude. The owner Richard is friendly and approachable and there is no check in system as such, you just head to your lodge and the keys are either in the door or inside for you. The heating is on and the hot tub is ready. Well be visiting again for sure!

Just a genuine nice place, you can have a relaxing holiday and wander about or be a bit more active and really explore whats around the local area, best of both worlds.

Great location on a small park with only about 6 lodges, each one secluded away. But each one has a great view to the south so sunny aspect as well. The hot tub was a major feature for us and was excellent.
Cleanliness score reduced because bedroom wall was particularly dusty - showed up particularly when bedside lamps were on. Just needs to see a feather duster more regularly.
The kitchen area was clean but the tea towel rail was not secure, and no dishcloth or teatowel was supplied. Didn't spoil our stay and both would be easy to fix.
To his credit, the owner replaced the outside light bulb straight away when we mentioned it was not working - useful when in the hot tub after dark!

We had a beautiful little family break, such a beautiful, peaceful place. Totally relaxed and happy here, very cosy and accommodating. The hot tub was the best thing the kids loved it. I would definitely book to stay in onnen Lodge again.

Could not fault the lodges as a whole. Few little things that could have been upgraded but did not impact in our stay at all.

Tidy lodge starting to look a bit weathered but comfortable.

Nice peaceful location with superb views. Road to the lodges is quite rough so you need to take care of the potholes when arriving and leaving the site.

Aberystwyth and Barmouth
Slate Mine at Bleineau Ffestiniog
