Fun Days Out in Suffolk

Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK.  The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.

Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed.  The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.

Heathside Lodges Reviews

Helen&Peter Parkins
We have just lived in heaven for the last 4 nights and 5 days. A quiet serene secluded site where you are left alone too your own devices with no one bothering you. The lodge has every mod con you can think of and more with a hot tub fed by softened water. Warm and inviting on arrival with your own bath robe and slippers too match as well as your own individual shower and bath as a couple. The proprieters' of Heathside Lodge have nailed it big time so get your spot booked now because like Wimbledon there will be a long waiting list soon.

Orwell lodge great. Though as a female would like a mirror in bedroom with plug near for hair etc. Had to use mirror in lounge.
Also main en suite needs towel ring for hand towel as towel rail some distance from basin. This does not alter my rating. An excellent holiday. 10/10

Best lodge we have ever stayed in.
Spotless & spacious. Only slight criticism was the fridge as it was difficult to store bottles of milk on the door shelf.
Just loved out stay so much that we have already re booked!

This is our third summer visit to Deben Premier Lodge no 11. So it must be good.
Great for the children to run around safely whilst we can sit on the veranda and still keep an eye on them.
Why not all tens.. Comfort most things are thought of but could do with a few extra cooking/ food storage things.
Furniture & fittings... a must is a larger fridge with a family and want to eat in fridge is too small.
Was very pleased with the new hot tub cover so much lighter and easy to handle.
Getting quite and expensive week hence value for money was down.

Lovely lodge with good a hot tub perfect for unwinding and chilling out
Allround excellent value for money, including surrounding villages and town's. Staff were also extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Very pleasant week spent at Heathside Lodges. Accomodation was excellent. Would happily stay there again. Perfect touring base for both Suffolk and Norfolk. Reccomended.
We have spent several very happy relaxing breaks in Heathside Lodges and thoroughly enjoyed the welcome by Caron and her girls in the shop, they are all so lovely. Bring on the next visit!
Perfect short break. Great welcome when we arrived. Useful little shop. Great setting. Clean, comfortable and well maintained cabin. Comfortable bed. Always love a hot tub! Like the look of the new cabins that are being built. Cabins initially look a bit close together but are in fact very private and not overlooked. Would highly recommend Heathside Lodges.
Great weekend break just me and my wife. Great place to switch off and chill
Our third time at Heath side Lodges, and, as before, we enjoyed the lovely quiet break. The lodges are superb as they are real wood construction with no plastic insight. We will be visiting again in the nearly futurem
Everything at Heathside was perfect. Would love to come again
The site is in a lovely location within easy reach of Southwold. The lodge was well equipped, clean and luxurious with two full sized bathrooms and a fabulous hot tub. The only small fault we could find was that the twin beds seemed small for adults but it would not stop us booking again.
Our second visit. Heathside is a very well run complex. Staff extremely helpful and take immense pride in ensuring all guests have an excellent holiday. We shall return.
Had a great time loved every minute would definitely go back
