Africa Alive is one of Suffolk's largest attractions and one of the most popular in the whole of the UK. The Africa themed park is very unique and gives visitors the chance to see some amazing creatures in a habitat which is as close to nature as possible. The park can be explored by car and on foot and Hyenas and Giraffes are just some of the animals you will encounter as you make your way around the park. Watch out for the lightning fast Cheetahs and keep your eyes peeled to spot the more reclusive creatures. During a day at Africa Alive there will be plenty of shows and educational talks taking place and if the weather turns then the indoor Adventure Play Ground comes in very handy. The site also has a well stocked Gift Shop and a Discovery Centre.
Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park is an amazing 50 acres area of stunning coastal parkland and is packed with family friendly rides and attractions. This park is an excellent choice for families with children of varied ages as there are a number of small rides for the little ones as well as some adrenaline boosting white knuckle rides for teenagers. As well as rides the site hosts some fantastic shows including the ever popular Sea Lion and Parrot encounters. At Halloween, Christmas and Easter other themed shows can also be enjoyed. The site also has a good range of places to eat and drink whether you are looking to spend a leisurely hour relaxing with a meal or just grab a quick snack.
We have just lived in heaven for the last 4 nights and 5 days. A quiet serene secluded site where you are left alone too your own devices with no one bothering you. The lodge has every mod con you can think of and more with a hot tub fed by softened water. Warm and inviting on arrival with your own bath robe and slippers too match as well as your own individual shower and bath as a couple. The proprieters' of Heathside Lodge have nailed it big time so get your spot booked now because like Wimbledon there will be a long waiting list soon.
We arrived at the lodges and were immediately shown around by the owner, he gave us the full tour, the do's and don'ts, showed us how to work the hot tub and then left us too it. The lodge was spotlessly clean, and by 8pm that night we were in the hot tub. We'd seen reviews that said they weren't private enough, but it wasn't an issue for us. The on site shop gave us everything we needed, and 5 minutes drive away is a decent enough little town for a pub lunch and the basics. Other than the awful weather it was a great week, on a great site, in a lovely lodge.

Full of high quality furniture and fixings
The lodge was amazing! It had everything you could possibly need and the fluffy robes and hot tub were to die for! Although there are other lodges very close, it felt quite private and secluded. The big green open space right next to the lodges was a real bonus for ball games & frisbee. The location was also perfect as the bike ride to the coast (Walberswick or Southwold), and to Dunwich and Minsmere is easy and relatively safe. And the local pub only 5 minutes walk away was really appreciated. :)

These lodges are really nice and comfortable with everything you need, the hot tub is great too if you can get to use it! The mattress in the master bedroom wasn't very comfy this time around unfortunately but only a minor thing! We'll definitely be returning.

First time we've stayed in the two-person lodge. Very roomy - the bathroom was huge! As lovely as all the other lodges.
Hot tub was lovely. Very peaceful and a good place for couples
Excellent lodge. Could do with some pictures on the walls, a lot of pine to look at with nothing on the walls.

Spotless accommodation. Warm and lovely fluffy soft robes and towels!
Loved the week we had with ages from 6, 10, 14 and a couple of 35 year olds. The accommodation was fantastic and catered for all our needs. If you're wanting a quite break away from the daily routine this is the place. We all spent hours in the hot tub till late at night looking at the stars. Even in February this was perfect.
We just spent a 2nd weekend break at Heathside. The standard of the accommodation is very high and the owners are very friendly. We already feel that Heathside is a home from home.
Very well situated for exploring the many lovely places in this part of Suffolk.
The location is great, the settings are fantastic, you are made very welcome. The cabins are very clean and tidy and the hot tub is a luxury that everyone needs from a holiday. Suffolk offers so much
the accommodation was excellent and the staff where very polite and helpful it was a pleasure to stay here
FANTASTIC tranquil escape with the children. The hot tub was a saving grace as the weather wasn't great in November. The views were stunning and there was even a couple of donkeys to go and say hello too. Its not far from the coast and other amenities. We have recommended our holiday to everyone and were going back again in a couple of weeks (April) and we can't wait.
This is an immaculately maintained site in a tranquil location, yet within easy reach of many attractions. The lodges here are of a high quality and we enjoyed the lovely views and walks straight from the doorstep. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to local pubs serving good food and you are only a ten minute drive from one of the beaches. We are already looking forward to a return visit.
We have already recommended this holiday to friends, we went in January and it was a peaceful, relaxing winter break. Lovely to be so close to Southwold but to be away from everyone else! Friendly welcome and nothing was too much trouble for Karen & Jim, they were very accommodating. Lovely local pub within a 5 minute walk with fantastic homemade food. Although it was too cold to venture too far while we were there, there was the opportunity for some lovely walks, maybe something we will take advantage of when we return in the warmer weather! Lodges were very snug, warm and inviting.
They go out of their way to make these lodges a home from home providing all the basic necessities such as washing up liquid, tea towel, loo roll, etc. not to mention the most welcome tea, coffee and fresh milk. Towel gowns, slippers, toiletries and loads of fresh white towels added to the whole luxurious experience.
This site was so peaceful we all had a very relaxing break. We were very impressed with the standard of the lodges.
