There were no light bulbs in the bedside lamps in 2 bedrooms so we had to give our 81 year old a torch in case she needed to get out in the night. Honestly we didnt report it as we forgot so this would have probably been rectified either way. There was no folder with local attractions or amenities which was disappointing or a guest book to sign as this usually gives you ideas of where to visit from previous guests. The biggest problem was not knowing who to get in touch with when we had no heating as reception was shut and there was no file with phone numbers in.
However saying all that, The Bay is well worth a visit, it was our 4th visit and the accommodation was spotless, well equipped and spacious and the teenagers were impressed there was wifi and a good quality tv.

Great time had by all

The only criticism is that the check in ought to be earlier than 5 pm - say 3pm

Cottage was lovely and very comfortable

Our apartment hadn't been serviced when we arrived (7.45pm) but the girls on reception quickly upgraded us to a cottage without an hassle.

The Bay has the potential to be a stunning resort but lacks elements that would give it the 5 star rating it claims. The beach house we stayed in was lovely, in a great position, well equipped with pretty accessories, pictures etc and the beds were really comfortable. Unfortunately however the accommodation was not cleaned properly, there was dust everywhere, other peoples possessions in the drawer and wardrobe, fragments of glass on the lounge floor, fingerprints on the bedroom furniture and the the en-suite smelled strongly. The cleaners had clearly been in because there was concentrated cleaning fluid left on the window sill, a coshh issue to small children! The dishwasher was also full of the previous occupants crockery. I dont expect to go on holiday and expect to vacuum and clean before the accommodation is safe to use. There needs to be a shop on resort, weirdly there is a pharmacy, not that I saw it open. A self catering resort needs a shop for guests to be able to purchase the basics such as bread and milk at least. I didnt use the pool as the sauna was out of service and I was warned that it was very unclean! This was a strong reason for booking so very disappointing! I would return but cleanliness would need to vastly improve. Im guessing there are insufficient staff to complete turnarounds in the allocated time.

Lovely warm and comfortable little flat with everything we needed for our 3 night stay. We cooked a beautiful meal every night.

Lovely house but just needed a deep clean, dirt on the carpets where it hadnt been hovered. Needs things pulling out and then hovering. Otherwise a lovely house.

Please provide a basic cleaning pack to include dishwasher tablets and dishcloths etc. We were staying for a weekend- did not expect to bring these.

We had a fantastic stay, the village was superb and the price was outstanding!

We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom Beach Houses & it was fabulous.

Overall we had a fabulous first family holiday taking ours dogs on the beach and our little boy swimming and day trips out.

Excellent holiday only downfalls no evening menu at restaurant and bags of laundry left in apartment all week.

Brilliant we will be going again

In general the house was clean saw bits under bed, and in corners of the living room and the downstairs toilet walls could do with a paint, not sure what had been splattered on the wall and wiped off. this did not hinder our enjoyment and the house met our needs.

SE HAD A REALLY NICE SUPERIOR COTTAGE BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT DIDNT HAVE AN EN SUITE
AND WE HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE BATH WITH THE OVERHEAD SHOWER .THIS WAS PARTICULARLY OFF PUTTING AS WE THOUGHT WE HAD BOOKED A COTTAGE WITH EN SUITE BUT AS WE WERE ONLY STAYING 4 NIGHTS WE DIDINT WANT TO CAUSE ANY FUSS SO
ACCEPTED WHAT WE HAD BEEN GIVEN.

We had a lovely stay ,the beach hut was amazing everything you need , the beach is about a 5 minute walk , there is plenty to do, we visited Whitby, Scarborough and a few other places , highly recommend staying at the bay

Very enjoyable holiday.

Very convenient spot and the house has been upgraded with a fancy heating system, big T.V.s and wi-fi. The only let down was the cleanliness of the property. Spilt milk in the fridge, grubby sinks and a constant damp smell in the bathroom ( damp mop in the locked cupboard?) A bit of WD40 on the locks and door handles would be good as well. A bit of TLC and everything would be just great.

Amazing cottage with amazing views of the sea. We had all the features we could want. We were very impressed.
