We have been in other lodges on site and this one was not as good. It was advertised as pet friendly but there were no gates to close off the decking area and the hot tub area was open to one side the gap being too big for a gate. Clearly this was an older lodge that has been brought up to date but you can only work with the basic design. It did not spoil the holiday but made life a little more difficult than other lodges would have done.

We found that the meals in the restaurant was a little pricey but we enjoyed it nevertheless. The lodge itself was perfect for our needs. However for the second part of our holiday ( the three extra days) we were changed to a balcony lodge. Since the date of my original booking, my mobility has decreased so it was rather difficult for me to manage the stairs within this lodge as the living area was upstairs and the toilets and bedrooms were downstairs. Consequently when I next book up I will avoid booking the balconied lodge.

Quirky upside down A framed lodge. Only downside was lack of WiFi. Otherwise a very enjoyable stay at beautiful Kielder.

Our lodge, the Aurora was lovely, well located with a BBQ hut (great fun!) and a large hot tub. It was super clean.

Only issues were a few signs of black mould but this is understandable due to surroundings and the distinct aroma of someone that had their smelly feet on one of the couches. Also the double bed seemed quite small but very comfortable. The corkscrew doesn't work in this lodge but with a bit of effort 2 of use managed to get the cork out.Everything else was perfect for our needs in the kitchen and bathroom.

We loved our lodge. It was very quiet and nicely isolated from the other lodges. Everything was clean and the furniture and fittings were of a high standard. We will definitely stay again. And the local birds were very friendly. Walks and bike rides around the lake were beautiful.

The kitchen was a little tired but the rest of the lodge was excellent.

Lovely lodge. Had everything we needed and was well set out. Staff were very helpful from arrival to departure. Only complaint is that the lights from the camping block nearby made any use of the star gazing pod redundant which was rather annoying and disappointing for a dark sky reserve. Restaurant was great. Would sky again, just wouldnt bother with the star gazing pod.

Lodge is advertised as better lodge but the lodge was not clean and very dusty and dirty in several places one of the hobs didnt work neither did the television . The interior of the cabin was marked and stained in the bedrooms and bathrooms and felt that it should have been much cleaner. There were dirty marks in the hall and a lot of dust on the table and the lamp at the entrance .We did not feel that this was worth complaining about however when we are looking for next years trip this was advertised as a high term standard lodge and nearly £300 more than last yearWe got no welcome drink when other guests did and were not aware until this was mentioned by another guest.

Usually using city hotels this was such a delightful change for us and we were delighted with the little extra personal touches that had been provided. Along with the range of toiletries we especially appreciated the midge spray. So relaxing and the lodges were spaced so that everyone had their own bit of privacy and felt far away from everyone else.We particularlily loved the BBQ, or as I named it, Our little Hobbit House. On the day when it was raining we lit the fire, sat on the the fur skins drinking wine and cooked. Such a wonderful experience.Would we go again? Definitely!

Initial check in was very poor. Got given a key and got told where the lodge was, no other information given. The lodge was nice but cleanliness was very very poor, whole lodge smelt damp and mould on the shower head which made it unusable. Bins werent emptied. No basics like kitchen roll and salt and pepper. Had TVs in the bedrooms including the bathroom but unusable as none were smart TVs and only 5 channels available on the main tv. Room has a speaker but no way to connect to it which was bizarre. Random trees planted in front of the lodge restricting the view of the lake. The midges were too much, no way to enjoy the hot tub or the space outside the lodge as they were swarms of them. We stayed at the beech platinum stars lodge. Moving forward would not recommend.

We recently had the pleasure of staying in the Birch Premier Spa lodge at Landal Kielder Waterside, and our experience was nothing short of amazing! This was our second visit to the resort in the past three years, and once again, it exceeded our expectations in every way.The Birch Premier Spa lodge provided the perfect retreat for our family, offering a luxurious and comfortable setting that allowed us to unwind and enjoy quality time together. The lodge was beautifully appointed, with modern amenities and stylish decor that created a cozy yet upscale ambiance. The facilities at Landal Kielder Waterside continue to impress us. The resort truly caters to every need, providing a wide range of activities and amenities that ensure there is never a dull moment. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the natural beauty surrounding us, with stunning views of the water and forest.During our stay, we did encounter a couple of minor issues that we feel are important to mention for the sake of transparency. Firstly, the shower in the ensuite bathroom had zero water pressure, which made it a bit challenging to enjoy a refreshing and invigorating shower experience. Additionally, the TV in the master bedroom was not functioning properly, which meant we couldn't enjoy our favorite shows in the privacy of our room. These issues were a bit disappointing, but they did not significantly impact our overall enjoyment of our stay. The staff at Landal Kielder Waterside were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to assist with any queries or requests we had. While we didn't bring the shower and TV issues to their attention during our stay, we have full confidence that they would have promptly addressed them had we done so, based on our previous experiences with their attentive service. The Birch Premier Spa lodge was a sanctuary of relaxation. The private hot tub provided the perfect way to unwind and soak up the tranquil surroundings. We also took advantage of the resort's leisure complex, which offered a fantastic range of amenities including a swimming pool, sauna, and fitness center. Our children had a blast exploring the outdoor play areas and adventure playground, and we appreciated the family-friendly atmosphere. One of the highlights of our stay was the dining experience at the on-site restaurant. The menu featured a delicious selection of dishes, with options to suit all tastes. The quality of the food was excellent, and the attentive service from the staff made each meal a memorable occasion. In conclusion, our stay in the Birch Premier Spa lodge at Landal Kielder Waterside was truly unforgettable. While we did experience some minor issues with the shower and TV, they did not significantly detract from the overall enjoyment of our stay. We highly recommend Landal Kielder Waterside to anyone looking for a luxurious and rejuvenating getaway in a breathtaking natural setting. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

Lovely lodge, clean and had everything we needed for the trip, other than Wi-Fi, which we didnt realise it didnt have, made planning for the next day of the trip a bit tricky so we would make sure we booked a lodge with Wi-Fi next time.

We spent the first two hours on site cleaning the barbeque shelter out. It was filthy. The instructions for lighting a barbeque in here say: "Open all windows and leave the door wide open. Your fire will be ready in 30 minutes." Whoever wrote this has never lit a living room fire and is too focused on health and safety theory, carbon monoxide and protecting their own back. Try closing all windows and the door, put the extractor fan on high and the fire will be ready in 10 minutes. Also the shelter will not be filled with smoke and wind-blown ash.

Enjoyed our stay here. Plenty for the kids to do
John
Chalet excellent. Children activities pretty much on the expensive side. £15 pound for each child on the sea scooters when they had to share was NOT good value. Seemed to us very greedy!! How about clearing a couple of trees at chalet 29 to give a view of Keilder Water. The photo you use on your information requires some updating!! Apart from that we had a very enjoyable week. My daughter and I had a Monday to Friday stay in a lodge with hot tub. We had the best, most relaxing time. The staff were all fantastic. Very friendly and helpful. The surroundings are beautiful. We had lots of lovely walks in the sunshine. Will definitely go back!

We had a family break and all of us enjoyed a lot. There were many activities to fill the day up with kids and when we came back in the evening, just loved using the hot tub. The location is beautiful and you can rent bikes to go around the lakes. Family swim and sauna was great as well.

We loved our stay with Landals very relaxing

Excellent surroundings but poor organisation. All experiences had to be booked on line but limited wifi available on site made it difficult to book sessions. Food, while excellent had very limited choice all week It’s a lovely site and the staff are excellent but must be frustrated by these organisational problems. Would visit again but be better prepared .
