Where's Hunters Moon ?

We had a lovely week here with our 2 children in July and the location is really excellent. We were able to have some great days out including our favorite to Longleat safari park. The lodges were not luxurious as such but were spacious and homely with everything we needed and the views over the lake were beautiful.

Fantastic holiday
Date of stay: 30th April 2018
Very nice cabin, lovely staff who were very welcoming. The bar area was very nice and cosy and offered pub grub on request.
The cabin (otter1) was clean, comfortable and stocked up with everything we needed for our stay and the owner told us to ask if there was anything else we wanted. The only tiny thing that grated with us a bit was that we had paid A fair amount of money for the weekend and then we had to put £1 coins in a meter for our electricity. We took our cats to Hunters Moon as they stay indoors and they loved it too, watching the ducks on the pond. Again the owner was so lovely in welcoming us and our cats. We would definitely recommend people to stay at Hunters Moon. Such an ideal location aswell near local town of Warminster, Longleat safari park and Bath city isnt too far either.

Lovely location - all lodges neatly placed around the lake. Owners are very welcoming. Only problem we has was that when we went to go to bed on the first night - the bulb went so we used a torch - When we turned the torch on all we could see was thick cobwebs all over the wooden walls and ceilings (could only be seen when lights were off and when the sun went down) The walls clearly haven't been wiped over for about 8 months+.
If the bulb didn't go and if we didn't have a torch we wouldn't of discovered this. We then checked all other rooms and it was the same problem. This sort of made us feel the lodge was dirty. This was the only problem! Would still return if the dust wasn't there ;)
Fed ducks each morning which was fun. Enjoyed country walks and just the relaxing atmosphere. We had lodge 5.

We stayed in a Magpie Lodge for a week with our Labrador. The Lodge was very spacious and the front gate verandas was very handy as we could have the door open and our dog could not get away. As we were on a dog walking holiday we didn't take advantage of the fishing facilities but the location was very convenient as there is a path that takes you straight into the woods right next to the bottom entrance to the site. We also found a public footpath that takes you straight into Warminster about 20 minutes walk away without havign to walk along the road.

what more can you ask for comfortable seats, lovely views
Excellent holiday. Great location. The children loved getting close to nature. Friendly and helpful staff; nothing was too much trouble.
Lovely weekend break with husband, son and doggie. Went for the fishing and surrounding areas. Husband and Son caught some nice fish, although the larger lake was hard to fish as still becoming established. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A lovely restaurant/bar on site with a good selection of food and drink, dogs are welcome in the bar area where you can also eat, which was great. Lovely wildlife in the area, with lots of lovely walks to be taken. Only a 15 minute walk (mostly up hill) to the town and local Morrisons, with a selection of shops, cafes, bakers and a few restaurants/bars. Very close to various tourist locations. Very safe on site with gates surrounding the entire park. We stayed in the Beaver 2 lodge which was comfortable. 2 small sofas, a double bedroom and bed with single size bunk & toddler size bunk. All beds were comfortable. Small shower room which was adequate, although water pressure not great. Kitchen was modern and well equipped for what we needed. Electric heaters were sufficient and kept the lodge very warm, on a meter but reasonable.
Excellent location and the staff were really approachable and helpful.
A very traquill place. Our kids loved the fishing facility. House was cosy and service very nice. All over a really pleasant experience. πŸ˜€
This is a fantastic place. The lodges are comfortable and well equipped and the staff in site are brilliant. Nick who booked us in gave us loads of local knowledge which we took up and the lady behind the bar was friendly and welcoming. The site is truly dog friendly and a brilliant place to take your pets and there is loads to see locally. We booked this at one days notice after the snow prevented us from getting onto a site in Devon and we are so pleased we found it. We would heartily recommend this site to anyone.
if you want a quiet relaxing break then this is for you. Peaceful location, warm cabin on arrival. Close enough to walk into the town apprx 15/20 mins walk.
Beautiful setting. Lodge was very comfortable apart from the heating! It was very cold during the night when the electric heaters were turned off. I would return to Hunters Moon but only in the summer.
Overall this is a great place to relax. The only downsides being the on site bar/restaurant is only open from 6pm through the week and not open at all on Wednesdays and the rooms take 1 pound coins for the electric so you will need to make sure you have a fair amount (depending on the duration of your stay). Staff very welcoming and the location is beautiful. Been here twice now and will definitely be going back.
Brilliant and pieceful holiday! Just not a lot close by
Booked this because I was in the area for work and it was cheaper than most other local hotels/b&b's. It turned out to be a great move! Self catering facility, close to the town, and great surroundings. πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ
Can’t find a fault
