Visitor Reviews of The Sherwood Hideaway Lodges

Warden at Sherwood Hideaway
Nine of our lodges have shower over bath. They all have a family bath room with shower/tap mixer. The 3 bedroom lodges have 2 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom - the twins can be made into a double by prior request. The park facilities sauna etc are available at Thoresby Hall Hotel at a discounted price. There are cycling and walking trails way marked and starting from The Shberwood Hideaway.

Brilliant cant fault cleanliness of rooms. So peaceful and relaxing hot tubs a definate bonus. Only negative was no available wifi or signal, not that I use my phone continuous but like to keep in touch with family left at home!!! DO NOT WISH TO PAY FOR WIFI !!!!!! Apart from that amazing weekend and will definately go back, cant wait for 1 bedroom lodges available.

Lovely lodge, warm and comfortable. Well equipped with some thoughtful touches like dressing gowns for the kids and dog treats etc. Hot tub was fantastic. Rooms clean and comfortable Shame the site didnt have access at all to surrounding woodlands so we had to get in the car to explore anywhere,

Have been able to compare this dog friendly 2 bed lodge with a one bedroom we had stayed in previously and was just as well presented with all the facilities and cleanliness but larger communal space. Same private decking and hot tub looking out onto grass area with woodland backdrop with plenty of wildlife. We were next to other dog friendly lodges but weren't disturbed at all. Some lodges were also occupied but again we weren't disturbed. Ideal parking area. A lovely lodge.

We book this sherwood hideaway cos it was close to home, because I've been looking after my dad full time since my mum past away last year. When we got there all we wanted to do was unpack an relax. The hot tub was freezing, checked all night still freezing. Round the top of the hot tub was mucky. We was there for 7 days Monday to Monday the lady only come and checked the Friday after being there 5 days. The gate lack was broken we had to put the dog lead round so the dogs wouldn't get out. Then when we came to leaving I striped the beds and the quilt was disgusting. I wish I'd have saved my money.

Lovely cabin and my suggestions below did not detract from us enjoying our stay but would have made me think the site had thought of everything. The main bathroom could do with a proper shower with a high up shower head over the bath (as well as the current low one as handy for swilling the dog off). The kids had to come in and use ours which is fine but I wouldn't want that if we came with friends. Also there were no plug sockets in the double bedroom, which with a teenager didn't go down well.As I said we had a great time and these are only suggestions.

Been in better lodges for the money. Just needs a few things updating. Knifes broken in block. No bottle opener. Comfortable beds and lovely and warm. Very quiet and peaceful.

Needs better sign posting from main road, no sockets in the smallest double room and the shower head on the bath needs mending.

Lodge was clean. We had a good location right by forest. However I believed when we booked that you could go walking into the forest, there were no signs up as to where - only one ti say no access. Also couldnt take dog for walks in forest as there was a sign in lodge about a disease which may be in the forest that could harm dogs. Although could walk around by other lodges on the road. We were informed by hoseasons on booking that we would be given a bottle of wine and chocolates awaiting our arrival however there were none. Just dog treats that my dog can not eat anyway. Couldnt let dog on decking without lead as the gap between the floor and fence was too big and she would roam about outside lodge. The hot tub had clearly not been cleaned before our arrival as there were lots of leaves in it. In main bedroom there was only one plug on one side of bed. Other side the plug was blocked by bed. The doors were hard to open/close and made lots of noise during night if someone were going to toilet. Good points- nice shower- good location-food delivery available from nearby takeaways - good view- peacefulClean lodge

The chalet was fine, sadly smelt of smoke & wardrobe in main bedroom also smelt badly. Linen etc lovely. Not enough China which meant using dishwasher more than necessary but not a criticism, more FYI owners. The decking & hot tub suffered from debris from the nearby trees. Natures fault not the chalets but very annoying. Nothing at all to do on the site but lots of places to see in the surrounding area. Free Wi-Fi not great but ok.

I dont think well be revisiting this location again. It is very expensive compared to some of the sites. No on-site facilities so had to drive everywhere for food, or order in.

Really nice cabin but a little further cleaning wouldnt have gone amiss and change of towels during a 7 day break with five people would have been appreciated. We prob could have asked but think this should have been a given

Number 4 was a lovely lodge. There were no champagne flutes and we struggled cutting fresh bread as there was no serrated knife. On a positive note the location was perfect and the hot tub was very clean. It also had a BBQ which we used as the weather was great

Lovely lodge and nice hot tub. We stayed in a pet lodge as it was the only one available and there was some pet hair around in the living area. The rooms were a nice size and were to a high standard with comfy beds and lovely pillows. The only thing I would suggest is better lighting from the reception to the lodges, it was quite hard to see when we went but would be ok in summer. Enjoyed our stay but would have appreciated knowing the pool was a lot further away and you had to pay to use it and no kids allowed. Liked that lodges spaced so not close together.

We had a lovely 4 night break with our friends joining us from the North it was half way for both parties.
Our lodge was lovely and warm and welcoming, a couple of issues which were promptly sorted next day, handle missing on outside door to patio and fire would not work properly main bedroom sink plug did not hold water
Lovely wine and chocolate greeting and also pooch treats did not use the towel as we bring our own
Nice big towels and gowns to use
Well ewuipped
Our settee a little tired plus quite dusty on the back
We left as we found cleaning the floor and leaving it all tidy

This place is good for dogs, we left our dog (large breed) outside when needed and he was well enclosed. There is a tap outside to wash muddy paws and a dog towel provided with treats which was a nice touch. Inside is just spacious enough to have a large dog too. Great walks in all directions surrounding your cabin.

We had an amazing time- the hideaway was lovely, we fell for a great weekend. The rooms were lovely, everything we needed and the two fridges were handy. Comfy beds, wonderful hot tub- just a lovely relaxing weekend. Only issue and it’s a non issue, the settees weren’t very comfy- but honestly, we will be back. Amazing. Thank you ?
