Galloway Cottages

Kirkcudbrightshire » Gatehouse Of Fleet, Kirkcudbrightshire

Galloway Cottages is part of our Daisy Door Cottage Style Collection, beautifully located in the heart of Galloway, just a stone’s throw from picturesque Wigtown Bay, and surrounded by a ’hidden secret’ landscape that boasts some of the finest scenery in Scotland.

Perfectly complementing the breathtaking setting, these attractive, superbly renovated stone cottages offer light, airy, modern interiors that unite a unique charm with everything needed to create unforgettable holiday memories.

Galloway cannot fail to enchant with the raw beauty and unspoilt peace of its largely undiscovered sandy beaches, rocky coves, serene lochs, verdant hills and friendly villages, while stargazers enjoy a particular treat – nearby Galloway Forest Park hosts one of the world’s few ’Dark Skies Parks’.

Blessed by the Gulf Stream, this famously gentle climate also lends itself perfectly to magnificent gardens, world-class mountain biking, hiking, horse riding, golf, sailing, sea, river and loch fishing.

Access to Auchenlarie Holiday Park facilities (Feb 9-Nov 2).

Scott, Wolverhampton
Date of stay: 2nd November 2018
A lovely break if you want to get off the grid and want to explore a stunning area of Scotland on a budget. Beats the noise and bustle of a standard caravan park but if you want an arcade and pool this is not for you. Lodge was very clean and well furnished. Electricity was on a meter and done on trust but was perfectly reasonable (£17 for 4 nights in Oct/Nov and we like the heating on!).

There are shops, take-aways and a supermarket in nearby Castle Douglas.
Darren, Langholm
Date of stay: 19th October 2018
Relaxing stay at a beautiful location, cabins clean and well kept but could do with some sort of information/welcome book in cabin to explain things such as hot water and heating and map of local walks in surrounding area.Hope to be back soon.
Joan, Warrington

I can't praise Queenshill Lodges highly enough. We found it by accident a few years ago and fell in love with the lodges and peaceful surroundings. This is why we return again and again. We are a couple in our early 60s who enjoy quiet times.

What a peaceful, quiet place to relax and recharge my batteries, lodge was cosy and comfortable. Didn't mind that there was no WiFi or phone signal, great to get away from it all.

My sister and I booked a week away at lodge 4 for our mother and father's joint birthday present. They couldn't have had a more relaxed time away and returned full of positive views of the lodge and the area in general. They took our family dog Cally with them and he also had a great time with all the land surrounding the lodge and great walks to go on.

Date of stay: 29th May 2017
Chalet very clean and all furniture and fittings were in perfect condition and appropriate. In all the times that we have stayed we have not met the owners or staff but everything has been left out and ready for us. We didn't need to speak to anyone and it was in keeping with the peaceful setting.
Angela, Morecambe

Some of the best appointed self catering accommodation that I have stayed in. Immaculate and very good kitchen and equipment. Great for walks and wild life. Nearest shops an restaurants 10 mins away at Castke Douglas. Ralph (the dog) loved it too.

Lovely clean lodge in a tranquil location, some really nice walks locally - a little off the main road, so I imagine in snow it may be hard to access.
