Situated close to a Blue Flag Beach, those who enjoy the seaside should pack their bucket and spade.

Beautiful rolling surf and gorgeous Essex sunshine are the norm so be sure to apply the sun cream in advance.

There’s plenty to keep families and couples content on the park with a fantastic brand new indoor heated swimming pool, adventure golf and an adventure playground to keep the kids busy, an all-weather sports court, and a small shop for those extra supplies.

On top of these fantastic facilities, there is an indoor soft play area and our newly refurbished clubhouse, featuring a stunning entertainment venue and restaurant, plus an outdoor terraced area out with the latest showbiz technology, and a high-tech lighting and sound system, the clubhouse stages amazing live shows through the holiday season.

Along with a new arcade, there’s also a funky bar with super-size TV screens, a restaurant, a mini-supermarket, and more.

There will be plenty of reasons to get out and explore the county too.

Take a stroll around the nearby town of Harwich; as well as featuring one of the country’s oldest cinemas - The Electric Palace, it’s also the location of the Redoubt Fortress, which offers glorious panoramic views of the entire area.

Sightseers can also visit the Lifeboat Museum, the Halfpenny Pier, The Radio Museum, Angel Gate and the Old Treadmill Crane.

The area of Dovercourt is renowned for its civil war history, but you don’t have to be a historical boffin to enjoy a fantastic holiday break at this Essex park.

Slightly further afield we have Walton-on-the-Naze, Clacton-On-Sea, Colchester, and bustling Ipswich, all waiting to be discovered by you and your family.

Plus we’re not too far from Constable County - the scenic home of John Constable and the inspiration for his many stunning paintings.

Dovercourt Holiday Park has so much to offer – so make the Essex Sunshine Coast your destination for an amazing holiday this year!.

Visitor Reviews of Dovercourt Holiday Park

Date of stay: 14th April 2024
The Caravan was not as high standard as we usually stay in, as we have a dog now. However, the caravan was still spacious enough and had x2 toilets, 3 bedrooms, heating and tv with freeview - as standard. The park was huge and had access to the beach, even though the weather wasnt great until the latter part of the week.Upon arrival at about 1530 hours, our caravan was not ready and we were told to come back at 4pm. When we did, there was a long queue of people, as of course it is arrival day. However, we were surprised as having stayed at many holiday parks and of course after Covid, we have never seen anything like this. Seemed a little old hat, but fortunately our caravan was ready unlike some customers, who had to sit outside and wait.Upon entering our caravan, we had a toilet seat not attached, so I informed customer service who added the details onto a WhatsApp group and an engineer arrived within an hour and completed the job. Thank you.Kids were disappointed the the channel Pop was not even on the guide on Freeview. We retuned the tv, but the signal never picked up Pop. I managed to purchase Wi-Fi on four devices and this worked ok, so at least they could still play games on their mobiles and message etc.The indoor swimming pool is excellent, well managed, has a brilliant slide and the temperatures of the water was simply gorgeous. Bit unusual having to phone or pop into reception to book a slot for the following day, but the system worked well and the swimming pool, was never over crowded. I always say, we have Covid to thank this for. There is the usual entertainment venue, including a bar and showed live sports. An arcade is also inside this venue and there is an extra takeaway venue inside the grounds, which is reasonably priced and the food tasted good. I found the female staff member delivered a high standard customer service and upon my second visit had rowdy, unsupervised teenagers inside, whom she dealt with very professionally. Overall our stay was a pleasant one and the kids are very happy to visit again.Well done ????

Only down slightly on cleanliness because its pet friendly, so will never be that clean. Thats not a down on the cleaning staff, they are brilliant. But otherwise fantastic every way.

Very cheap but still nice & cheerful. Its a very basic Holiday Park providing a few facilities but not what will keep you onsite all day. Its location provides for some nice and easily accessible coastal walks. The caravan we stayed in was modern, spacious and well equipped, although we did notice some onsite that did look a little older, battered & dirty, but maybe they were owners caravans. You know, this park is ideal for a short break and as a base to go off and mooch around to explore the area. It is what it is.

Great caravan, much more than what I expected as we have a pet. Very spacious and the bed was so comfortable. One of the best breaks we have had, only downfall was some of the other children there who we found were quite aggressive, we experienced a very unpleasant incident with some of them which really upset my son. Perhaps parents need to be informed to keep an eye on their children. Other than that great site, staff are friendly. The man who runs the arcade was brilliant, the kids absolutely loved him.

We had a lovely week with family. The caravan was clean and tidy. We made the most of what was available within an hour or so nearby, visiting places we had never been before so park was a good base to do this.

Just spent a long weekend and had a very nice time. Dovercourt staff were very friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. The site has all you could want for a family holiday with little ones and the staff were excellent with the children.Local area was a bit too industrial for us but if you are prepared to drive there is lots to do not too far away.We would like to come back with the grandchildren as I think they would have a wonderful time!

Very happy with the caravan clean, tidy, well maintained, gas heating etc
The site is still undergoing some upgrade work / investment which meant some work traffic and noise (tarmac to hard standings etc), though the site has already had the majority of work done and is looking good.
The access to the beach was closed barriered off, I thought the point of a beachside site was to access the beach, this was a disappointment. Club was OK and on par with others (but I admit its not my thing) Appeared to be plenty for kids to do. Chip shop being set up overall impressed but they just seem a little behind with work still going on in June.
The staff were helpful, polite, willing and professional
Without the work and blocked beach access would have been 10 out of 10
Lawrence, Welling, Kent
As already stated the park and caravans were very good and had plenty of space between them
