Visitor Reviews of Challaborough Bay

Date of stay: 1st November 2023
Challaborough bay was a lovely site with a great sea view. The caravan was clean and all in good working order. The location of the caravan was on a steep hill meaning the view is beautiful however, it is difficult to access if you are in a wheelchair, have difficulty walking or with a pushchair.

This van was better than we expected from previous reviews. It was spacious and very clean. The only small problem was the microwave which was not user friendly. Otherwise we could not fault it

2nd visit here so we knew what we were coming to. Love that the place is away from the madness of town life. So this time we were preparing with all our food and didnt need to do any extra shopping.

The caravan was very modern and clean with a washer dryer and great location to the amenities. My only negative is that I'd have liked a hoover as sweeping the sand off the carpets every day was annoying but not awful. The water was very hot and the showers were better than we've got at home! The caravan was stocked with all the pots and pans you could ever need. Would definitely recommend would have scored higher but was a little disappointed that the price increased so much because of COVID and the influx of people to Devon.

We had a brilliant few days. Our only complaint was the restaurant said food orders would be taken up to 9pm but when we tried to order food at 8.50pm we were told kitchen was shut. The takeaway was also shut on that evening and there is nowhere else locally to eat.

Short break, Peaceful, nice setting but could do with an update in areas that let it down, seating area outside bar/restaurant, Entrance road very narrow.

Date of stay: 31st July 2020
Lovely location and caravan nice, expensive though. Service by most staff was poor, the wait for fish and chips was half an hour. The evening entertainment was poor, the children cant join in the bingo and that was only entertainment.

Lovey site, beautiful surroundings, friendly staff who love the dogs and are helpful at suggesting places to go. Helpful having the restaurant and shop onsite. Lots to see and do, I would stay again and would highly recommend as its great value for money.

Caravan was modern and clean. Shower a little small but functional. Could do with some more cooking bowls. ie. only one casserole dish and no basins. Some hooks on the back of doors would be useful
Penny, Torquay
Date of stay: 14th October 2019
We did experience damp in the caravan which led to the wallpaper peeling off in places. The carpet was also very wet in the corners of the bedrooms.
