I only gave this 9/10 as the only downside is that it does not have a height adjustable bed.

The cleanliness of the lodge was spotless and one of our party, whom is a great spotter of dust/webs etc could find no fault!

Staff were happy and able to provide any missing requirements. We asked for extra pillows and towels and although there is limit on towel provision, our request was fulfilled. This response allows holidays with disabled relatives, to be easier and managable.

Date of stay: 26th January 2015
Lodge and location amazing. Bathroom needs updating and pressure in shower was very poor. I understand that outdoor facilities were closed at this time of year but very poor that no shop or food available considering how secluded the area is.

Date of stay: 14th March 2014
There could be a shed of some sort to put push bikes in so they don't need to be in the lodge
Tanya
Was a wonderful holiday under very difficult weather conditions. The staff could not be anymore helpful or considerate. Will be returning and will have no problems recommending to anyone who is considering staying.
Victoria
Excellent location, great size lodge. The washing machine, separate tumble dryer and dishwasher were a great addition. Comfortable beds, lovely warm lodge and great outdoor space. The bathroom was dated but spotlessly clean. Activities were very good as was the pool and the selection of films to hire from reception. We had a great time!
Dave
Staff all were very helpful. Nothing was any trouble for them. Accommodation was great. Understanding the lodges were primarily for disabled guests. We found it home from home.
John
excellent and very relaxing with fantastic staff
Patricia
We had a peaceful and relaxing time. Facilities were good, staff were helpful and friendly. We would love to come again.
Nick
My wife and I had a lovely well needed break and found the accommodation at the Calvert Trust Kielder to be great, well equipped and warm. The scenery and wildlife was amazing. We are active people and therefore were out and about all the time in the local area either walking or cycling or running. The facilities in the centre were great and we were able to truly relax away from our busy lives. It was a challenge at first not having no mobile coverage and limited wi-fi but in the end that was a bonus. The only thing that I would comment on was the bathroom facilities - which were quite dated but adequate. The team were friendly and accommodating. thanks for a lovely break and we would like to visit again
Jennifer
Excellent stay lovely surroundings. Staff efficient and careing. Cabin spotless and warm which was welcome as we were there in November.
Helen
Wow! I never imagined I could have as much fun and do so many activities with my family! Our family has mixed needs but the center catered to all of us and nothing was too much trouble. The cabins were gorgeous, massive and had everything we could need and more. The location is breathtaking and waking up in the forest every day was so relaxing I really didn't want to leave! Ok there's only very limited Internet but my teenage kids barely missed it there was so much else to do. I'm booking next year as soon as I can!

Fun Days Out near Calvert Trust Kielder

about 1 Mile
Housing the most fascinating collection of Birds of Prey in the North East this centre is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the Kielder Water area. Located in Falstone it's easy to get to and makes a great day out for both families and couples.  As well as seeing the amazing birds you can learn all about the captive breeding programme and the excellent work being done there.  Some of the highlights of the day might include watching a Falcon stoop down from the skies at over 100mph and admiring the grace of the Eagles, Kites and Hawks.

This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out.  You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles.  If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files.  We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.

Go Ape! has really taken off and become one of the most popular attractions in the UK.  The Northumberland course is set in the stunning grounds of Matfin Hall.  Described as a high wire forest adventure this really is one for the more daring as the course takes place right up in the tree tops.  Giant tree top obstacle courses include ladders, bridges, tunnels and some of the country's best zip lines.  You will be provided with all safety equipment and training on site.

Cragside House and Gardens (National Trust) are a popular Northumberland attraction with a beautiful stately home and gorgeous grounds to explore. The rhododendron labyrinth is a unique and fun addition to the grounds and there is also an adventure playground where children can let of steam. It is the stunning scenery that attracts most of the visitors though with many bringing a picnic for a relaxing family day out. The house itself hosts exhibits which change regularly. World of the Water Wizard is currently on display.

Alnwick Castle and Gardens today are perhaps best known for their roles as Hogwarts in Harry Potter movies but have for many years been a family favourite attraction in Northumberland. The beautiful medieval castle is open to the public and during school holidays and at Christmas and Halloween a range of activities can be enjoyed including Santa's Workshop, a Pumpkin Parade, Spell Making Lessons and Owl and Bird of Prey Flying.
