Date of stay: 1st March 2022
Lovely cottage & hot tub was a bonus with everyone - also no bath robes or slippers as described. Disappointed with the use of the water - ie 2 showers running at the same time - with being 7 of us - had to wait at least 20 mins for tank to fill up between washes. Lovely place to stay - all utensils there to use for kitchen but bring matches for the wood burner. No extra toiletry samples of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or soap!

I would love this place to be our little secret :) It was truly lovely. The house had everything that you could possibly need (more). We stay here with our friends and the house was warm, clean, gorgeous. Plenty of room for two families to stay here and the pool table was a good idea! The children were never board as there is plenty to keep them occupied. Our evenings were spectacular in the hot tub. Loved sitting eating our meals and looking out at the amazing views! We will be back.

Fantastic cottage, fantastic hosts in Sioned and Gareth, the place is a gorgeous luxury old barn conversion, with everything that you could possibly want while you're staying there..
Its comfortable, spacious, with stunning views all around, as well as all fresh new kitchen and bathrooms to help you relax and enjoy your stay... and the hottub and decking area overlook a stunning view of the Aran mountainside that can't be beaten! I am a regular visitor here, and am already returning in a couple of months for my next break... i really can't recommend this place enough..make sure you book it, and enjoy a stunning break that delivers on the "wow" factor from start to finish!!

We have recently come back from a stay at Y beudy. Wow what a place. The lodge was breath taking the views amazing!! We was greeted by the host later in the evening on our first night with lemon drizzle which was still hot from the oven. Delish. So relaxed and didnt feel any pressure from here. We had a trip the the Eagles inn twice which is a 15 min walk away and serves beautiful food. Defo recommended. We was informed of a lovely Forrest walk but we passed and had longer in the hot tub :-). It was simply like being home from home. Everything you can think of is covered. The log burner is beautiful and can purchase more logs if you require which we did. IF, we had to change anything we would have liked the beds to have been a little bigger and comfier they are small and creaky. And check in to be earlier and check out later but appreciate it needs cleaning in those given times. We loved every minute. Friends have already booked on our recommendation. Thanks so much!!!!! X

We spent our first wedding anniversary in Carreg Y Nant at Bryn Caled Cottages and had a wonderful break. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed and more. The location is great and despite the very changeable March weather, we were able to utilise the spacious private hot tub every day. We were greeted by Sioned and a very tasty lemon drizzle cake and were made to feel very welcome. The owners' dogs and chickens were roaming the grounds which was lovely too. We had a fantastic stay and will most definitely be visiting again!

Date of stay: 13th September 2018
We had a very lovely stay at this cottage, so close to giving this a score of 10 but unfortunately a couple of little issues prevented this but if these are sorted we would definitely return:
The positives first:
love the design and style of the cottage, very spacious and everything you could possibly need was there especially in the kitchen.
The cottage was immaculately clean and well maintained overall despite a couple of things.
The owner was very friendly and even baked us a small lemon cake on arrival and introduced herself and offered advice on places to visit nearby.
The beds were very comfortable and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.
The ensuite bathroom was spacious and bath/shower was very comfortable and easy to use ( which is rare)
Alot of leaflets and good amount of advice given in the cottage booklet of places to visit and local food and drink in the area as well as discount offers.
Loved the upstairs balcony with amazing views of the welsh mountain countryside.
The owners had a couple of friendly dogs who came over to visit who were well behaved as well as some free roaming chickens and two horses in the field opposite.
The location of the cottage was brilliant in a rural area however a small drive away from the local village of bala.

Things need improvement:
It was great to have a hot tub at the cottage (we rarely book a cottage without one) however this hot tub wasn't up to our usual standards. This hot tub didn't seem well maintained unfortunately - when in use, it was only set to economy mode (which couldn't be changed) where the jets were on slow power mode and a strange loud noise was present everytime the jets were turned off, also the water feature from the hot tub handle didn't work until we fixed it.
The TV in downstairs double bedroom signal was very bad and barely watchable and the upstairs TV turned on by itself at 6am twice during our stay and wouldn't turn off unless unplugged.
A few of the spot lights on the ceiling weren't working and one of the sofas upstairs was abit worn.

However these are all minor issues and with a few upgrades the cottage is definitely worth returning to and overall one of the best cottages we have stayed in. I would give this a 9/10.

Our party of six had a wonderful time and can't recommend it highly enough.

Date of stay: 18th August 2017
We stayed here for 4 nights in August 2017.

The cottage itself was lovely, living area upstairs, with a toilet and bedrooms downstairs with the main bathroom.

Everything was clean and the cottage had everything you could need, large fridge freezer, dishwasher, large dining table, plenty of cutlery, washing machine and it was great to have a washing line outside and an airer in the cupboard.
They had a little collection of games and dvds and all the information you could need.
If you do have younger children there was a stair gate at the top of the stairs.

The beds were very comfy, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The double bedroom had patio doors which was lovely. There are TVs in both bedrooms.
My only tiny niggle was that the bathroom had attached doors from either bedroom and unfortunately the doors were quite noisy to open, close and lock.

Location was everything, views of the Aran Mountain from the patio doors upstairs and beautiful scenery all around! There was a TV with Sky etc but who needs a TV with a view like that in front of you?
My daughter enjoyed the tiny park and the views from the swing were unlike any other!
We booked this as we love things quiet and relaxed and that is what we got.

The hot tub was lovely, plenty of room for our family of 4. It was a shame the weather wasn't perfect but it would be brilliant if there was a shelter over the hot tub so it could be enjoyed even in poor weather. The garden was enclosed and also had a BBQ.

We met the owners briefly and they were very helpful and friendly.

We did have the occasional animal visit in the garden, the friendly dogs and the odd chicken! My 10 year old daughter thought this was brilliant!

There is plenty of parking.

We managed to cram quite a lot in our 4 days.
Bala Lake is less than 10 minutes down the road, beautiful place and you also receive a discount for Lake activities if you mention you are from the cottages. We had a go at canoeing which was fun.
Bala Town is a beautiful little place, plenty of shops, pubs etc.

We did the climb up the Aran Mountain which is a lovely walk, very peaceful and beautiful!

One evening we decided to go for a drive and followed the instructions in the welcome book, driving through Snowdonia National park! Our little outing turned into almost 6 hours of being amazed by the beautiful scenery! We stopped and admired and almost every turn! It was any photographers dream outing!

We took a trip to Fairbourne which was only about 30 minutes away, visited the beach and also took a little adventure to the Blue Lake which was an unused Quarry! Great adventure getting to it and very worth it once we had arrived! I have never seen anything quite like it! Turquoise water, looks beautiful in the sunshine.

On checkout day we had planned to go to Snowdon. We had never visited before. It was a lovely drive through the beautiful landscape.
We didn't walk this time as we had booked the Mountain Railway for a treat. This was a good experience, but a bit pricey if you have a large family.

I have a love for Wales and it grows stronger each time I visit! This cottage has added to my love!

If only I could move in for good!

I ticked 'yes' I would stay again at Y Beudy on the proviso that the hot tub is either replaced or repaired. This was the only thing that was under par for us, we couldn't get the lid off completely as there is no pull bar and it is wedged into the rails of the patio deck. As there were only two of us (ladies) we could only lift the cover off halfway, some of the jets didn't work and it was quite dirty and as soon as we got in we came out as we felt 'grubby' and our skin was slimey. As we were only there 2 days and only went in on the second day we didn't bother too much as we had other plans, but if we stayed for longer or with more guests then the tub really isn't big enough for the number of people who can stay at the cottage . The rest of the cottage, amenities were absolutely wonderful ! Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean and all the equipment you could possibly need for a lovely stay ! Very well thought out.
The countryside and views were breathtaking and the sky at night with the stars was magical ! The lemon cake on arrival was yummy and we loved that we were offered fresh farm eggs to buy ( at a fab price) to take home with us ! We met the owner on arrival, who welcomed us and she was very friendly and welcoming. Wifi should really be free though - expensive at £10 for a 2 day stay - lucky for us we didn't want it as we wanted a break from the modern world ! The Y Eagles pub in the village was warm and welcoming too.
