Orchard Farm
Orchard Farm is a quiet and peaceful site with a fantastic location in the small hamlet of Humnanby, close to the popular seaside town of Filey. The site was easy to find and first impressions were very good as the park has well maintained and attractive grounds and large pitches. The feel of the site is tranquil and friendly and we felt that it would be ideal for families looking to be close to Yorkshires attractions, but wanting a relaxing base with plenty of space for children to play and good facilities.
Orchard farm offers a range of accommodation in cottages or caravans. We opted for a Primrose Cottage and found it to be ideal for out party of 5 and very good value for money. The two storey cottage was comfortable and had everything needed for a self catering holiday. The children were pleased with the TV and DVD player and we brought some DVDs from home for rainy days. We also had a peek at the Limestone cottage which looked similar to ours but can sleep 6. The Rose and Ivy cottages are all on one level and sleep 4.
We really enjoyed our short stay at Orchard Farm and made the most of the facilities. The indoor swimming pool was very popular with families and the clubhouse offered some family friendly entertainment. We particularly enjoyed the bingo. The site also has a children's play ground where our two children soon made friends. Coarse fishing is also available onsite.
We spent a couple of days exploring the local area and visited Peasholm Park in Scarborough where we hired a boat on the lake and enjoyed a picnic. We also had a fantastic day at Cruckley Animal Farm which was just about 20 minutes away and well worth the drive. Overall we had a lovely break and highly recommend Orchard Farm.
