Fun Days Out in North Cornwall

The award winning Newquay Zoo makes a fun family day out in North Cornwall.  With over 130 different species of animals to see and plenty of fun activities for the kids this attraction is ideal.  Recent additions to the zoo include the African Savanna and the Madagascan Walkthrough exhibit.  Kids will love the play area, face painting, tarzan trail and animal encounters.  Different events tale place throughout the year such as the Halloween Zoo Boo family fun event on 31st October.

This fun park makes a really energetic day out with rides, pitch and putt and a kids zone.  Some of the highlights include the Thunder Racing Track and the Blaster Boats.  The F1 racing karts are also very popular.  Younger kids will like the kiddy karts and the trampolines.  Located in the Newquay area this attraction is easily accessible from the M5.  You can purchase Bulk Tokens for rides on their website to save money and download a golden ticket.

This attraction is really unique in that you have the opportunity to gain a rare insight into a working sanctuary.  You can see first hand all of the fantastic work carried out as well as seeing the monkeys themselves.  Other popular areas of this attraction include the Bat Cave and Wildlife Room. the Wildlife Gardens and the kids play area.  There is something for everyone at The Monkey Sanctuary and you can also sponsor and donate if you wish.  The cost to adopt a monkey is from just £2 a month.

Holywell Bay Fun Park has been one of South Cornwall's most popular attractions for many years and features a good range of rides for children of all ages. As well as fairground rides and Go- Karts there are plenty of places for family fun including the Maze, Bumper Boats and Lazar Shooting area. If the weather is not great visitors can simply head inside as there are plenty of indoor activities including a large Soft Play Area and a thrilling Climbing Wall. With no entrance fee this park is a good budget friendly option too.

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. The inhabitants include some typical UK creatures including Otters, and Red Squirrels as well as some more unusual and rare animals including Red Pandas. Younger children will enjoy meeting the friendly animals in the farm area. The site has recently been extended and now also has a fantastic Jungle Barn where kids can let of steam.

A fantastic attraction with something for everyone.  Combining rides, activities and exhibitions it's all here in the one place. Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website.  Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001.  The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.

Open from end March to end October this is a lovely attraction suited to families with kids of all ages.  You don't need to worry about the weather either as this is an all weather attraction with the addition of soft play areas and a ball pool for the little ones.  Some of the highlights include the Bull Pen indoor play area, the Raging Bulls Ride, Pat-aPet and the Mini tractors.  Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close to the farm animals and try some bottle feeding.

The Eden Project is a fantastic local attraction in Cornwall which will appeal to families and couples.  From the moment you step through the entrance it's clear that this is no ordinary attraction.  All under one roof you will find a giant rainforest, Horticulture courses, rock climbing, ice skating and an arts cafe.  Not all of these activities are on at one time, they are staggered throughout the year so check out the website to see what's available when you plan to visit.  Autumn at Eden is very popular with events such as daily apple pressing and Time Changing Tales (story telling with an autumn theme).

Great accommodation. Large beds for the kids which they really appreciated. They're normally cooped up in tiny singles. Would stay again without a second thought.

Accommodation was wonderful, brand new, very clean and tidy. Shower pressure was great, very powerful. Beds were comfortable. We used the washing machine, dishwasher and oven. All were brand new and easy to use. We loved the hot tub, this too seemed brand new! Only improvement would have been wifi in the bungalow.

The apartment was spotless and as we expected. Watching the television and being able to see the sea from the bedroom great.
We had such a relaxing time, so much to do we ran out of time. What a beautiful part of the country. I also need to add the cleanliness of the place was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Every one had an amazing time.
Would happily visit again, we found our lodge to be clean, cosy and comfortable. Staff very helpful with a problem we had, but had nothing to do with the site.
The accommodation was lovely. We had a couple of issues in the accomodation but we're dealt with as soon as they were reported. The only downside was that children under 16 weren't allowed to use the pool without an adult present. It didn't state this on the website anywhere. Other than that we had a lovely holiday.
Staff were very pleasant upon arrival. Unfortunately not everything was open on the first night, which I would expect to be informed if before I arrived. Again on the last night special at the bar were still not available. Nice big pool, changing rooms were too cold especially with a baby. We did inform reception of this matter. Accommodation clean and tidy, nice big bedrooms. It easily fitted our family of 8. There could do with more cooking equipment e.g no oven tray, only one Pyrex dish, only 2 teaspoons. Food at the bar was exceptionally poor, tasted like it had been reheated several times. However we were refunded so this solved the issue. Otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The entertainment for the children was good, even though Captain Crumble sometimes goes a bit over the top. I would recommend staying here again.
Had a wonderful stay. Still a friendly atmosphere despite being out of season. Lovely lodge which was very good value for money
