Visitor Reviews of Otter Falls

Ryan Taylor
My wife and i decided to take out 2 children for a short break to Otter Falls in the six weeks holidays and we had a brilliant time. The site is peaceful and very quiet at night so we felt very relaxed. The kids had a great time playing out on their bikes and scooters and there was also a games room which came in handy when it rained. The location was good too with some nice beaches just a short drive away.

The double bed matress was very hard so had to push the two singles together

Date of stay: 16th March 2024
Had great expectations after reading previous reviews but came away extremely disappointed. Property was not worth what we paid. Ripped carpets, paint peeling , had a new boiler but all the surrounding just left open. Toilet moved everytime you got up. Big gaps between sink and pedestal. Tiny uncomfortable sofa and small double bed. Easily room for a bigger sofa and king size bed. Hot tub couldn't be turned up past 37 so was quite cool. Lid falling apart and needs replacing.Staff were brilliant though and couldn't do enough for you. Not the romantic getaway we'd hoped for. Was in a lovely location though and dogs loved the walks we found

The cottage had everything you need. It was warm with central heating. Just getting the temperature right took us time. The hot tub was well used too. If you like peace and quiet this is the place for you. If you want anything you will need a car as you are in the middle of the countryside with only a local farm nearby. The staff on site was very friendly and helpful too. I can highly recommend this cottage.

Very comfortable accommodation in Haywain and best nights sleep for all of us!. Bathrooms a little tired, and water didnt stay very hot for 3 morning showers, but that was our only niggle. Fantastic quiet location and staff were so lovely, especially Rebecca who posted on something Id left behind when we checked out. Unfortunately bistro closed for food our weekend but can recommend The Sidmouth Arms. Lovely bonus having the hot tub and pool!

Lovely lodge, perfect size for the two of us. Our only recommendation would be to add window blinds to the two doors and if the hot tub could be a few degrees warmer.

Lovely cottage, though needs a little bit of tidying up, paint peeling off wall in bathroom, mattress was very soft, sofa a little too small when there is enough room for a normal size one. For the price we paid it was worth it and would definitely return.

Otter Falls offers a superb setting, with fabulous accommodation which exceeded our expectations. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They even puppy proofed our garden within 10 minutes of our arrival! Special touches like a treat bag for the dogs, a pint of milk in the fridge and a tour to ensure we settled in made for a stress free start to our break. The hot tub, literally outside the front door, was a real bonus. Relaxing in the steamy water on our first night, with snow flurries falling through the bare branches above, will be a lasting memory. Perfect for a winter break, the site made an excellent base for exploring the surrounding countryside and nearby towns and beaches. A fully equipped kitchen and wood burning fire made it perfect to return to. We will definitely be returning.

Very nice cottage, had all that we needed, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, staff are great. The byre does need a bit of decorating as some of its looking tired, the sofa could do with replacing, and the door to next door wasnt great as you could hear most things from the other accommodation. With the faults sorted. It would be 5 *.That being said we would recommend otter falls and would stay again.

Date of stay: 14th November 2023
Accommodation was great - others have commented that the sofa wasn't very comfortable but it is a soft bed which does have more of a "hardness" to it than a "normal" sofa. Hot tub was lovely & we had a totally clear night of being able to see all the stars with little light pollution from the sounding area.Staff were friendly, as were other guests & food in the restaurant was great & reasonably priced. We would defo come back again.

Brilliant park, staff were great and we loved the cottage and food on site much better than we expected. Sofa in cottage small and bit particularly comfortable and restaurant decor not amazing but thats being picky. We loved it, the pool was quiet, the bonfire and toasting marshmallows was a nice touch. We had a great time and will return.

The cottage was perfect for our family of four and 3 dogs. All of the essentials were available on arrival including milk, tea, coffee, salt, pepper, washing up liquid and enough dishwasher tablets for our stay! We really loved the care package for the dogs. ????????????Spring cottage is just opposite the pool and just a stones throw from the bistro and bar when using the back door. Plenty of places to walk the dogs and an enclosed courtyard for just letting them out quickly. Two towels for everyone which stopped any dramas with our teenage daughter and the beds were super comfy. Overall, a lovely home from home and well definitely be staying again.

Had a wonderful few relaxing days at Otter Falls, the park was beautiful and ideal for getting right away from it all being so tucked away in the Devon countryside. The lodge was spotless and comfortable and the food from the Tickled Trout was perfection. So glad we found this hideaway and will be back again.
Becky
Fantastic place . So much thought put into things a dog owners dream . Lots to do and great surroundings . Highly recommended .
Elizabeth
The venue and surroundings were beautiful, the Hayward was perfect for our family and had everything we needed and very clean and well presented. For fishermen/ women it’s perfect but you do need to have a car to get around. An easy drive to the cost for stunning beaches and for dogs. The local pub does great food and really helpful. It is remote so make sure you have all the shopping you need, but with a dog shower, and stuck library it’s great. Hot tub was fantastic and although the pool was dated it was clean. We will definitely be going back. Thankyou to all the staff
Gemma
My mum and I absolutely love Otter Falls resort. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We only marked Facilities a 9 as the pool is very tired and needs some work. Also our sofa wasn't very comfortable to sit on - the other chairs made up for that. Our cottage was lovely and clean, a great size for a couple. We love the views from the terrace and we love, love, love the jacuzzi. This was our second year at the same cottage and we are already thinking we would stay again next year. Just recommended the cottages to my friend as she also had dogs and I think it would be great for her and her sister.
Carol
