Finlake Holiday Resort is located within 130 acres of stunning Devonshire countryside and yet are just half an hour from the sea givinfinlag you the best of both worlds. The park is perfect for romantic getaways and also for families looking for a relaxing holiday.
The fabulous leisure facilities at Finlake include a health complex with a heated indoor pool and top quality fitness centre with well-equipped gym. There is also a sauna, steam room and, for the ultimate in pampering a Finesse beauty centre offering a range of treatments. The recently refurbished Retreat Bar and Restaurant serves excellent quality food at lunch times and evenings.
The setting is very relaxing but there are also numerous activities to enjoy including the outdoor pool with its waterslide and the outdoor adventure playground for children. The whole family can enjoy the outdoor tennis courts, 9-hole pitch and putt course and adrenaline junkies can try out the high ropes, caving, jungle trail,treetopping and climbing at the Adventure Centre.
Accommodation is either in country lodges or more luxurious woodland lodges. The Country Four Platinum is a 12ft wide timber clad holiday home with two bedrooms. The Plus version also has an outside hot tub. The Woodland Honeymoon lodge is perfect for romantic breaks - a one bedroom superior lodge with outdoor hot tub and sauna. Woodland Lodge four and six are Scandinavian style lodges with large open plan living areas and two or three bedrooms upstairs. The top of the range Woodland Deluxe lodge is a spacious two storey lodge with under floor heating, sauna and hot tub.

This popular adventure park is full of thrills and excitement as well as having loads for younger children to take part in as well. The best theme park rides include the Tidal Wave log flume and Maximus the rollercoaster. Other fantastic rides include the the New Vortex Watercoaster ride and the Queen Bess pirate ship. Indoor fun is plentiful too with the Adventure Zone, the Magical Kingdom and Dina's Lost World.
This is a really unique attraction in the Devon region with many unique events taking place throughout the year. The Halloween Festival in October is well planned where you can take pumpkin carving workshops, ride the ghost train and go to witches flying school. All year round there are some excellent
Go Ape is the latest craze sweeping the UK offering thrilling adventure for energetic older children, teenagers and adults. With several sites across the UK, Go Ape aims to bring climbing and swinging fun the masses. The sites attractions include Tree Topping, Cargo Nets, Aerial Swings, Zip Wires and Climbing Walls. Suitable for children over 10 years old. Booking ahead is advised.
The Donkey Sanctuary is a working refuge for rescued Donkeys but is also a popular place for a day trip in South Devon. The site will appeal to animal lovers of all ages and gives visitors the chance to meet some of the friendly animals and also learn about the work done at the sanctuary. Visitors will also have the opportunity to adopt a Donkey.
Woodlands in Dartmouth is a fantastic theme park with non stop fun for everyone. It's also home to the UK's biggest indoor venture centre. Some of the most thrilling rides are the Cyclone Watercoasters, the Sidewinder and The Mighty Twister. For younger children there is the Golden Bear City - a superb wild west world with a school house, farm and much more. Exmoor Zoo is described as a "family zoo" on their website and it certainly makes a great day out for families. There are many exotic and rare animals as well as birds to see which are living in natural surroundings. Some recent improvements at the zoo include a new 5 metre tower at the cheetahs and raised walkways at the "beast". There is also a new viewing platform over the sitatunga. As well as the amazing animals to experience there are regular fun activities such as face painting, daily events and zoo trails.
This year round attraction has been described as Devon's most magnificent historic gardens. Located in the Otter Valley area of East Devon you can enjoy a fun day out in a picturesque setting. Highlights include historic Palm house, containing some of the world’s most endangered species and Bicton Woodland Railway - which takes you on a 25 minute journey through the lovely grounds. For children there is a miniature village with mini golf, nature trail and indoor play area.
